Old vs New: MARC MP36 and a Charger! Trains P879 and P881 at Germantown

On January 13th, 2023 at approximately 6:24pm, MARC P879 arrived and departed eith an MPI MP36PH-3C leader and at 7pm MARC P881 arrived and departed with a Siemens SC44 Charger in the lead.
Locomotive: (P879)
MARC 31, an MPI MP36PH-3C
Locomotive: (P881)
MARC 87, a Siemens SC44 Charger

For me I honestly like both- the MP36s have an EMD prime mover so I prefer how those sound, although I like the looks of the Chargers a bit more. Very nice video!

I personally don't like the Chargers, but maybe they'll grow on me. The 645 prime movers in those have a historic tie back to much older locomotives. The chargers probably aren't built as well, but time will tell

I’m not a fan of diesel locomotives, but if I had to pick one I’d choose the SC-44s. I like how they look-they remind me of the Belgian railway HLE models from the 90s.

Fair point! I prefer the look of the SC44s but the sound of the MP36 locomotive.
