Yes! Occupational therapists supervise the OT assistants. Assistants can't complete formal evaluations or create treatment plans for clients. In the U.S. to be an occupational therapist you have to receive a masters degree or clinical doctorate degree. For occupational therapy assistants, it's usually a 2-year associates degree.
