  • This model will be my last tank for a while as I really want to get back into aircraft so hopefully I will be able to take my armoured experience into aircraft.

this is one of the best sturmtiger kits i have ever seen ( i could never build anything this good, so obviously the best kit is not from my tanks plus I've only built 1 FV510 warrior in 1:44 and im working on a M1A1 Abrams and a Panther Ausf. a )but i need help with building dioramas and rust colors, could you think you could help me? ill upload a slideshow on my channel about the abrams and panther and then maybe you could give me some advise since i am a beginner modeler. i think i have most weathering down but i want help from an experienced modeler.

+snakeboy don't worry about it, ask as many questions as you like i'm just the same i'm asking other modelers questions all the time !

+snakeboy first of all thank you for your kind comment i really appreciate it ! I'd be happy to help as much as i can . First with dioramas, for me dioramas are very hard to get right I've only just found a way to build simple dioramas myself so i'm not greatly experienced. The way i'm making dioramas at the minute is by using a Styrofoam block with balsa wood around the sides painted black and them i use clay for the ground texture and the expensive bit is adding grass and bushes i mostly use the railway stuff for grass . Another way you can make a diorama is by using a photo frame with the glass as the base to put your clay, on my Crusader i built not long ago i used this method it's a very good diorama base for 1:72 tanks but for the 1:35 it's a bit of a squeeze. The rust is a little easier to explain at the moment i use Abteilung oil colors from Mig which i paint the rust streaks on and then i wet a brush with AK interactive odorless thinner and brush down to create faint rust streaks . If i want to rust up exhausts on tanks i use Mig medium rust pigment . That's the only way i know i'm afraid, that's the thing with modelling it's very annoying trying to gather materials and products to create good models but once you've got most of the basic tools and paint and stuff it pays off in your models ! I hope I've answered your questions if you still need help please ask away !
      Thanks again !

scalemodelling76 thank you so much :)
you always help me when i leave a comment and that makes me very happy! i will try those techniques on an old plane kit and then on my panther if they look good. i only know one way to make a diorama other than the one you just told me. i will take a wood base and cover it with tile grout and while its still wet i put on the grass. i then will put on anymore shrubs and things after the grout dries. but the only thing is is that i have no clue how in going to make a cobblestone road and an exploded building from artillery. i am thinking of maybe buying a resin building kit from squadron.com but i still need to figure out how to make the road since i don't have any modeling clay :/
but thank you so much again you are a massive help!

How long it took you to construct it? Did you had any problem with it?
Loving your music choice for this video! (Red Orchestra if I am not mistaking?)

+Toxic thank you ! It took about 2-3 days to build it's a very simple kit apart from the tracks they are a little annoying to keep in place when glueing .And yeah the music is from red orchestra !
