Before you make a house, close your eyes and envision yourself walking into a house. Recreate everything you see and you'll have success. Do this for each and every room. :)

You want to make sure your in Edit Town mode, then click on the lot you want to build on. A window should pop up and you should see a button in it that says like "build/buy". Just click that and start building =P
@TheJacobGaia That is what Modern houses are looking like now days. The Black and White adds a clean crisp look to the house. The many windows allows alot of natural lighting to come inside so you dont have to waste your money on lighting.
Yes that happens to me sometimes but to help with that ishue I tried to make sure there was a mster bed and bath covering a large area and possibly a private study for the mastr bed , and a family study , then if I still don't have enough space I either go up a floor or make a basement Its really what ever the house requires each house is different what ever their needs are are individual problems for each home I'm used to luxury mansions so the only problem with space is possibly too much

Uhh I would say sims 3. There is an expansion coming out sometime in fall, and there are various object pacts you can buy on the sims 3 website. So I think there is plenty stuff to play around with in Sims 3 while waiting for more expansions =))

@MovieMakers100 You can go into edit town and choose a lot you want to build on, and it doesn't cost money to begin building, but it will cost money to move a family into the house depending on the size and furnishings of the house!! =)

Why when people make houses do they do the little box things for the upstairs levels but then delete and redo them again. it seems like they make one square off of a room shape delete then rebuild the same square is that to over ride something you cant normally do?
I have the same problem like Sunray98Films, and when I try to build each room first, the second floor often doesn't have enough space for proper rooms..

You can also have modern houses in beige or brownish or yellowish shades... I'm just a 2nd year high school student so please spare me... to help against that happening build each room instead of building the outside walls first then your house will be the room sizes and floor plan you want

@MoodLight1200 Actually, you have to hold down Ctrl. and do it. But you have to be on the create a wall thingy. It works with fences too.
@MoodLight1200 You hold down Ctrl and drag down your walls. There's also a delete tool beside the select tool and the create-a-style tool.
