There was a similar reaction to building what's now the Freiburg Germany Temple (in the wee 'burg of Freiburg, literally, "Freetown"), which was in the DDR when announced in 1982 and dedicated in 1985. The Church feared that the Stasi would seize the temple and convert it into a museum. However, this building had been built after difficulties were encountered in allowing LDS members in the DDR to go to Switzerland or London to do their temple work; i.e., the authorities obviously feared they'd not return! The temple was actually SUGGESTED by the Saxony "Lander", and they did their best to help the Church obtain needed construction materials, as most items commonly available in West Germany weren't allowed in, nor a West German construction firm. Certain compromises that otherwise never would have been granted were made; including that air conditioning, not commonly available in the DDR at the time for buildings of the temple's size, could not be installed. During the summer months, temple sessions often had to take place only in the early AM or evenings to avoid the stifling heat. After the German reunification, the temple was shut down for some time, and consideration had been given to simply tearing it down and building an entirely new structure in its place, but as by then it'd become somewhat of a landmark, being a fave place for even non-LDS couples to do a marriage proposal, the Church kept the building fairly much as originally built, but did put on an addition, and installed the much-needed AC!
Post member? It seems like every channel hates the Church. So your comment is to encourage people to leave the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, right? So dumb………
Russell announces the number of temples first to get the gasps from the crowd before he gives the locations. If it’s not at least 15 temples every six months it’s a dark day at conference. A lot of smoke and mirrors here folks.
@dales. rmn's Game-Show- Host drama. What do you reckon: Was the crowd's collective swoon a sound track or was there a chorister conducting? Oh, how the proff doth love his grand drama.
Considering that (1) most of these temples are rather small and modest compared to something like the Oakland or San Diego temples, they're not all that expensive, though expensive enough; (2) the Church is, ATM, thanks to increases in value of its real estate portfolio, awash in equity, at least on the balance sheet, and (3) there's an opportunity to build way ahead of current need, based on PROJECTIONS, that we get some 25-30 temples announced each year shouldn't be a surprise. It's getting to the point where travel distance and/or restrictions will quickly not be the overriding factor, CAPCITY will be. Expect that this "Torrid" pace will slow down...and if it DOESN'T, it's because there is a NEED, still.
Mormonism outside the US sounds so bonkers to me. The entire mormon story reeks of american self-importance. So it can't be easy to recruit members outside the US.
Well, no, it’s not easy. But in all fairness, the issue is not MAGA patriotism but general ethnocentrism in a restoration movement that not only believes it’s the one and only, but also that its doctrines are inerrant. From that point of origin, human nature dictates that the outside has nothing to offer the Church, and you end up exporting all sorts of cultural baggage. So even within the United States there is imposition of Utah culture in regions where it just doesn’t fly.
@@aliceaubalmasque3645 I served a mission in Hungary and was struck by the hymns; traditional LDS hymns translated into Hungarian. The cadence of the language does not sync up. It was awkward and screamed “not Hungarian,” and therefore American. Alternatively they could have adopted in existing Hungarian hymns that align doctrinally, but I just don’t think the generational value of authority and control would be comfortable with each country singing different songs. It’s not like there’s an overt intention to Americanize, it’s that everyone has to be doing the same thing. Of course that defaults to American (specifically Utahn) culture, which leaders have been slow to see due to their own insularity.
Way back in the day they announced a temple in Long Island, NY but we’re never able to secure land or building permission. Allegedly, Benson dusted off his feet at Long Island because the proposed temple there got blocked.
I've heard this story as the Church was told to pay a tribute to the Mafia "family" that claimed Long Island as its territory, and Benson naturally refused. Without doing so, getting skilled laborers, concrete pouring, and construction materials delivered was all but impossible. Supposedly local LDS leaders in the Northeast were also using building funds to pay "honorariums" or "consulting fees" in order to get trash picked up from meetinghouses, a practice that Benson, while President of the Quorum of the Twelve, used his connections with "Uncle Sam" to get the local Mafia dons to back off. An apocryphal story is that a bishop in New Jersey was threatened when he didn't "pay up" by a mafia "made man", but was soon given a profuse apology by the Don and a promise that the Church would be left alone. Word has it both the "made man" and the Don were visited by some "strangers" that were able to convince them of the error of their ways.
I don't think that the Scottish one will ever be built. Temples are a Rusty thing. I think after he passes the majority will be forgotten. The new prophet will start his own thing just as every other prophet has done in the past 🤔
Gotta do something to appear productive and use those billions. Disgusting that they don’t care to help the needy very much. Masonic temples are also a ruse to the fake growth
Bingo. This is all cult 101. If you keep building temples, the members and the world will be fooled into thinking that the church is growing. The more Mormons you think there are, the more you think that God really is leading his church and it's the Mormons! But it's harder to believe this is God's one true church when everyone is leaving. And when poor old Moroni gets whacked. I don't know why Nelson wants to take the big gold statue of Moroni down and make a big pokey thing instead. I don't know why he took away the well known Brand MORMON, even off the tap yer knuckle choir, when it's an accepted name. I don't know why he took away the things like pageants, that made the church fun for so many people. He sure makes trouble for himself.
What are they preparing for? Maybe the second coming when Jesus returns and creates a new heaven and earth? I’m just guessing cause I have no idea what you mean and I hope you will share!! :)
I just don’t know what it’s going to take for the Church to shift away from this false certainty to the realization that just because God MAY speak through a prophet doesn’t mean every word, edict and action of the prophet is inspired.
"By invitation only, Nelson?" Well it's pretty much that way everywhere. If you don't hold a temple recommend, you ain't getting in no matter the location or country.
@iffy. I understood that "by appt. only" nelson was speaking momo-code as caveat for future situation explanation. ["Temple-recommend- qualified" MEMBERS ONLY]
Except they forgot to do their due diligence. Most Arab countries need a visa to go to UAE and the visa process is very expensive and complicated and most are refused.
China temple. My mother lived in China. She said foreigners could have church meetings in their homes, but that was it. They could not build churches, do missionary work, or convert Chinese citizens. I do not see how a temple will occur given the position of the government towards religious activity.
I believe there is, or was, a meeting place in Shanghai for the local non-Chinese members. A CCP observer attended all meetings. The latter wouldn't work for a temple.
There was proposed temple to be built in Harrison New York in The Bronx. It was opposed by the local community. The Church built the Manhattan New York Temple on top of the existing meetinghouse.
It's been replaced, at least for the foreseeable future, by 2 temples, the one in Manhattan, and the other near Hartford, CT. Supposedly, the Harrison location was intended to serve both current districts, but not only did neighborhood opposition put a damper on construction, the Church realized that city-dwelling members usually didn't have cars, and the location wasn't well-served by mass transit, as is NYC. Same logic for the downtown location of the Philadelphia Temple; a rather significant number of active members within reach of SEPTA there.
LDS Church, you could increase your temple count significantly if you just took a ton of your existing church buildings and turned them into hybrid temples of church services and sections for temple rituals. You already have the buildings approved, you already have them built, you already have community support for that building being there, and all you have to do is make some adjustments in the interior. Please stop force fitting your temples into the wrong places and harming the relationships of the communities around them.
I don't know if you read your comments Nemo. But I am one of those that lives close enough to the lone mountain proposed site. The homeowners don't want it who are directly affected. And those of us that also are on the a little bit of a distance from it also don't want it. Any ideas on how we can be successful?
Such a funny issue! I have family living in Las Vegas and the reason they are building on the other side of the city is because no one wants to go to the Eastside because it's the shitty part of town, but thats all the cult would dole out to build in Vegas all those years ago. Naturally the West side is the most affluent part of the city. Sooo, we need to keep the highest donors happy!!
Interesting news about the situation in Ireland. I live in Limerick and drive past the meeting house there on an almost daily basis. Please do keep us posted and in the meantime enjoy your stay!
@@NEMOTHEMORMON Glad to hear it! Hopefully we'll see you again. So is Limerick district closed as in closed completely or just downgraded to a branch? One observation I forgot to mention is that anytime I have passed by the meeting house in the last couple of months I have noticed that even though the gates are open, there are never any cars in the car park or any signs of activity. Mind you this is during the week, I wouldn't usually be in that part of town on a Sunday. Although years ago there was plenty of activity going on. Also, looking at the church finder section of the LDS website, I was surprised to see that Cork is not a district but a branch which is/was part of Limerick district. Maybe Cork was it's own district before? I don't know...
Nemo, the last thing my area needs is another temple. It’s live West Jordan , Utah. With this new temple we will have 4 temple’s within 6 miles. What a waste of resources that could be used for so much more than the ostentation. I think the church announces new temples to placate the members when see the church’s loss of membership.
There are close to 300 temples in operation, being currently built or preparing to be built. And if I may say: "You haven't seen anything yet." You cannot comprehend what is about to happen in the next 5 to10 years. Hang on tight!
Does your area struggle to staff and clean them? I'm in Saratoga Springs and TSCC has begged for temple workers a couple of times. They even changed the requirements, asking young parents with kids to serve.
I remember when RMN cautioned the audience in GC from making any noise while he announced the temples. He wanted reverent silence, not gasps of excitement.
Great podcast. The basic forming of the church was wishful or magically thinking. Magical hat and stones. Build the temple and they will come(by appointment only). So happy i resigned
"So happy i resigned" I probably ought not to be glad you left. Those that wish to stay, stay! Those that wish to leave, leave! CHOOSE and then enjoy your choice.
Yeah, it's funny that you can leave the Church but you can't leave the Church alone. Don't worry, only 6 members in 1830 and over 17 million today. Definitely a downward trend. But don't be too worried, the Savior would always welcome you back - even though you don't want to.
@@thomasmaughan4798why should anyone leave it alone after they leave? Why are people somehow shut off from speaking of their experiences, discoveries, thoughts and criticisms since leaving an organization that their entire lives revolved around? Kinda weird to expect people to just not talk about it. You wouldn't expect people who left a job or an abusive spouse to never speak of it after leaving
why all these temples are being announced? Rusty is trying to leave a legacy for himself, and to outdo Gordon Hinckley, who was the previous record holder of the most temples announced and built under a church President's watch. Nelson has never forgiven Hinckley for politely tearing him a new arse in General Conference, in front of the tabernacle audience and members watching at home, saying that there was nothing wrong with using "Mormon" as a nickname for the Church, after Nelson had admonished members to use only the full name of the Church in the GC six months earlier. With Nelson it's always been his narcissism and ego.
Gordon had his little secret, he was you know, “inclined to play for the other team” as we say, hence during his tenure as president the tolerance for gays influencing the church
@@martincollins2920 that was disproved many years ago. Even Ed Decker, who helped to propogate it in God Makers 2, has been trying to distance himself from the mess after it was debunked.
Has anyone heard anything about Shanghai, China? Right after the initial announcement, Chinese government officials said they had not singed off and given permission.
The Expanse- next they'll announce one to built on the Moon. A never-mo here. At the chapel buildings can a member go to any service on Sunday- or are worship times also assigned?
I lived in Suzhou China for 5+ years until 2016. At the time the Shanghai District for expats consisted of 3 branches in Shanghai and a branch each in Suzhou, Hangzhou and Nanjing. The branch in Suzhou was shut down due to a raid by local authorities and the Hangzhou branch was also shut down subsequently. Now there are just two branches in Shanghai and one in Nanjing. With the exit of so many foreigners from China during COVID it is no wonder the district is half the units. Several other expat branches in China have also shut down. We used to get upwards of 120 people attending each week in Suzhou, now less than 20 active members head to Shanghai 100 KM away for services there. There is never going to be a temple in Shanghai.
Having lived in SH during the same time as Seth, I can say that some of what he says here may be accurate. His last statement however underestimates the power of the Lord. Who is to know what has or has not happened or what may yet happen?
Temple building is a ruse to show that the church is maintaining its consistent growth. We’re on to them and the church will decline rapidly as more truth comes out
The Saints will be overtaken by the Anti Christ for a time. But once the Anti Christ is removed from the Americas the Saints and those returning or restored to the earth will reign with great power. So great the power that will be evident, no will go up against the Saints because of the great power that will protect them. I could tell you more but you would not comprehend it.
Rather EXPENSIVE 'ruse", Lorraine. You don't know what you're talking about. If anything, a temple helps to SPUR growth by retaining the members already baptized, which is probably even MORE important than simply "dunking" them and running up the baptism count.
Can you do an episode on how many have been announced since 2018 and temples that have actually been built? I know there are a lot in Utah (where I’m at) but I feel like it’s just for show. Last year, only 8 temples had been completed. Mostly in Utah.
The process to build a temple outside the USA/Canada can be dragged on, due to local politics and outright CORRUPTION. Even when the Church owns the land, or has control IAW that country's law. American members at times don't appreciate how other nations, even ones we THINK are "free", don't have something like our First Amendment, so a church can't just do whatever it'd like with respect to construction of facilities. A stark contrast was the current Freiburg Germany Temple, which was actually constructed at the suggestion of the then DDR government, shortly after the Frankfurt FRG Temple was announced. It was realized the difficulties of DDR members to get a visa to go to Frankfurt, so the new temple, rather small, and modest considering the DDR wanted it built out of materials and equipment only available to any DDR outfit; it didn't even have A/C until 1995! The DDR government, then under Erich Honecker, probably wanted the temple built so they could say, "see, we 'Socialists' respect freedom of religion, look at OUR temple of that AMERICAN church", as well as keep the DDR LDS members, well, INSIDE the DDR! The Church went ahead with the project, and considering that this was under Ezra Taft Benson, well known for his rather, er, "conservative" views, including frequent denouncements from the pulpit of Communism, it took a lot of "faith" on both sides, but the temple was built and ready BEFORE the "West German" temple was dedicated! It was only a few years later that the Berlin Wall came down, and Germany was reunited in late 1990. Coincidence? MAYBE.
Near me the Missoula temple was announced. It has been so long, I think a couple years ago now, and they still haven't found a location for it. Members have fasted for it. I feel so bad for them all. Nelson is a fraud as a prophet and has proven himself as such.
In the video of Nelson announcing the Russian temple, the smirk on his face when the audience reacts is repulsive. He just wants people to think he's so cool. When I heard the Russian temple announcement, I knew it was BS. My son served his mission in Russia and there's no way they have the membership to support the temple. Temple workers would need to be called on missions from Western Europe, so what's the point. And, the Shanghai temple? Wishful thinking? Or just a pipe dream? This "let's build all the temples" business is just to soothe Nelsons vanity. But, who am I to care where the church spends its money? Oh, yeah, I'm someone who paid thousands of dollars of tithing over my 50 years in the church.
I have never seen any building built on the original timetable. That includes the Salt Lake City remodel. The miracle would be a temple, or most any building finished on the timetable. As for China, been there recently. If and or when, the Shanghai Temple is created, it will not be announced it will be just for the Chinese nationalists and the church will not build an edifice, but repurpose. We are careful to keep the laws of China and respect the government and people there. Respect is very important to them. I lived there for five years. Whether it has or has not been created, or will be, do not expect to know. Respect them and do not even ask. Act with integrity towards this nation.
This post is right on. The Lord is in charge and to claim failure in the near term is foolhardy. To expect specific public updates is wishful thinking. To droundy’s point, I lived in Denver when that temple was announced in one area of the city and was turned down by the local city council. The temple was eventually built south of the city in a much more accessible and beautiful location. Was it a failure? Of course not!
Wow where to begin when speaking to cult members!! If we aren't expected to know when the temple is "repurposed" then why make the announcement? The old "Don't ask Don't tell" ploy! Typical for Governments, Religions, and Corporations. Just keep working in the dark shadows in China I'm sure that follows mormon protocol. Respect? That's a joke right? Considering the info from Nemo that the Religious committee of the Gov. or whatever it is called has heard nothing abt it? Wait, everyone involved that isn't a cult member are being deceitful, to take down the only true church! In the end the lord is in charge and this is exactly how his only true church is supposed to work!! Hurrah for Isreal! GTFOH
When I was a Mormon (not all that long ago), I thought Temple announcements were on the same level as revelation. And at least some revelations do not require a time frame. These Temple announcements can linger in limbo for 500 years and still be "from God".
They are still considered by revelation. However many western temples have a high number of full tithe payers. Hence temples built in Arizona, Utah, and Canada.
Nemo- it would be interesting to compile a list of all temples announced in the last 25 years and then do a follow up to see if they were actually built.
I think the official lists do contain all temples, including temples announced but never built. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_temples_of_the_Church_of_Jesus_Christ_of_Latter-day_Saints
Russian Temple - if the plans have been approved by the Russian government, and the grounds in Russia have already been bought. Then the church already owns the land and can build the Temple after the war concludes. Could you imagine trying to do this after the war? Would take at least another two years+ to get the approval etc. Maybe President Nelson can see around the Corner, getting the Temple Site in Russia just before the war started.
That simply means they have those "keys". Like Bela Oxmyx figured out on Sigma Iota, "if dere was just one BOSS, we could get things done." Of course, while Bela's vision of "unity" for his world was sound, it was with HIM as the "Unity".
I used to cry with a mix of excitement when I heard the new temple building announcements around the world. Now I see it as a way to give the pretense that the church is growing globally in a way that is not accurate but perhaps is done in part to manipulate us to believe this is the case. (There are a fair number of Mormons in Dubai so it makes sense for those members). And, I now see the temple building to be a way to sink the hoarded funds from tithes into realestate and keep that money "laundered" within. Doesn't feel good to see things in this way. But it is good to think critically and not be duped as I was as a faithful member.
I should chip in so you can visit here in Las Vegas and discover how very NOT rural Lone Mountain is. It’s just Las Vegas with the camera pointed away from the casinos.
It's rather close to the 215 "loop". Methinks if the Church had the appropriate parcels, it'd have been better to build it just outside the freeway, on a bluff or hill, and even BIGGER. The NIMBY Karen's would be absolutely shrill in their opposition to THAT version, although traffic-wise and immediate impact would probably be less than the current proposal. But methinks the Lord knows where and when He wants the houses dedicated to him, so I don't presume to counsel HIM. This same sort of NIMBY "Karen-ism" was done to shrill extreme about 25 years with respect to the Boston Temple; the prospective neighbors griped about how the size and height of the structure would disrupt their community, and so on. Not only is the temple isolated from the neighbors by a rather thick cluster of trees, the property backs up to the MASS PIKE (I-90). About as appropriate a place to site a temple as one could get in Metro Boston. A legal battle was fought over the temple's steeple, which ultimately the Church won, with a ruling from the Mass Supreme Court that the superior court ruling about the Church needed to "prove a need" for the zoning variance as to how it was necessary for the faith was not lawful; i.e., in effect, if the architectural features are to serve a religious purpose, then the State has no business regulating it.
Hey Nemo, could you talk to your 'friends' in the high ups and tell him that the temple in Lindon Utah has been sitting there for years, painted black with a GIANT fence around it with THREATENING messages written on the signs about awful things that will happen if you TRESPASS? I mean they took up the space behind the junior high, the kids area to play and they blocked the beautiful view of the mountain, but could they at least finish it? Maybe paint it some other color than black for spring? Take down the threatening signs? I don't know. Just thoughts. Sounds like Nelson should write a book, call it ' How to Not Win Friends And Not Influence People. Not not. Sounds like China loves the Mormon USA Church already NOT.!
Why don't the just built manufactured temples. It makes more sense than those multiple million dollar buildings that only have use for a few in the church.
People forget these prophetic announcements and later when another so called prophet, seer and revelator finally builds a temple on these locations, the church and members will rejoice on how inspired Pres Nelson was and he knew (or God has revealed to him) that was going to happen and prepared the people for the temple in the future. Or just say as JS used to say when revelations failed, that the saints were not brave enough and God upheld the blessings for a time until they repent and humble themselves and turn to God.
If anyone is curious where this type of "planning" will inevitably go, just check out how scientology builds or rather how they don't. Check out what happened to one of their buildings in New Haven, CT.
Building a temple is a very complex process. In regards to the Temple, more research needs to be done by Nemo to understand the disconnect between the central bureau, the individual cities, and other organizations like the religious affairs bureau In China. It is not a Simple straightforward process. Similar to getting a business license in China, you can go through all the steps and still not be approved. After something is approved, It can still be conditional.
Why does the Dubai temple info commercial sound like a Scientology commercial? I do like the use of professional extraterrestrial musicians for the composing of the music. Shows this church is very inclusive of all of God’s creations in the universe.
So, Mormon prophets can see around corners can they? And I thought they walked a straight line, so why are these corners so important? I guess because there are so many ex Mormons there. Come back you lot. Well done Nemo.
"The Lord picked the location" Elder Bednar knows full well that the Lord has nothing to do with it. Russia? Good luck with that, I guess the supposed Prophet couldn't see the war coming.
Thank you Nemo. As a resident of Las Vegas, this temple is useless, an abscene location and an absolute display of wealth and greed with no regard for the people that live in the area.
Counter proposal: knowing that our best efforts at family history work give only a drop in the bucket, what if the generic expectation capped family history at the great grandparent level, and then the Church covered the travel as needed for members to make limited temple trips? Fundamental issues with the temple aside, the notion of frequent, repetitious temple attendance is in no way doctrinally supported or even logical. However, it DOES bear the marks of yet another practice that has drifted into ok pharisaical extremism.
This sort of all-the-glamor-and-none-of-the-work pattern was established early on in LDS Church history. Just go visit Independence and Far West Missouri and you'll find dedicated site and even cornerstones, but absolutely no temple.
I’m struck by Pres Nelson’s wording, “we plan to build.” That should be enough to soften the imperative to build a specific plan in a specific spot, whereby the Church is currently steamrolling local communities and polluting its own bathwater for future missionary efforts. Sadly, I don’t think we’ll see any moderation in leadership until Uchtdorf ascends to the top. :(
Dude, you have no idea what you’re talking about. The temple here in Urdaneta 2:52 the Philippines was announced in 2010 and we just had the open house April 2024. It is a beautiful temple.
I believe that new temple locations are reveled from above. Therefore, the Lord will facilitate the work to progress. It may take a while to get organized & approved, but it will happen.
I feel like announcing dozens of new temples every 6 months at conference is fool-hardy. So few of them have even gone through the approval process with local municipalities, and many of them are contested by local citizens.. I feel like announcing all of these temples is just for show to make conference more interesting because, let's face it, it's a drag.
LoL 😂 You are kidding me. Conference is the best thing I look forward to going along with many others. The talks are spiritually uplifting and give hope and guidance in these last days. The temples are being built quickly because we are in the last days. You have no idea what you are talking about. It’s good to be skeptical but not cynical. c = a + i. Cynicism equals arrogance plus ignorance. Arrogance because they think they know all about the subject and pass judgement accordingly. Ignorant because they don’t know what they’re talking about. smh
@@alexdsr1 Church isn't for everyone. I loved conference growing up because it meant that I could sleep in on Sunday, stay in my pajamas, and do puzzles on the floor while I pretended to listen to the talks. It was arguably way better than an average Sunday, where we had to keep up appearances. I hated every minute of it. When I was old enough to actually go to the temple myself, I realized that my autism and sensory issues did not mesh well with being dunked in water again and again and having strangers put their hands repeatedly on my head. I found the entire experience to be incredibly stressful. One thing that never gets talked about is the fact that all of this is designed for neurotypical and non-disabled people. Accomodations are minimal or non-existent. Even if I did still believe in and participate in the church, I doubt I'd be excited about the announcement of more of the same practices that never cared about my special needs to begin with. I might be more excited about an announcement about temple experiences for people with autism and other disorders (different lighting, alternative rituals or services, or even just explaining/warning what will happen next would be helpful). We don't need more temples. We need more mindfulness in the ones that we currently have.
The Shanghai China Temple is currently in operation. Only The Church was waiting for the Temple's announcement to begin operations. Currently the Shanghai Temple exists but it is not necessary for us foreign members to know where it is, because in any case it is only for Chinese members. If a temple like the one in Salt Lake in China is expected to be built one day, perhaps not now, but for now a normal building will be used which may even be an underground building where ordinances are performed.
Saying the "Shangai China temple" is currently operational, is disingenuous, It's not open in shanghai. If you check some chinese forums, members will talk about hong kong temple, or a couple years asking about the temple then nothing. You yourself mention "If a temple" is expected to be built, but that a normal building will be used underground. You go from, "It's Operational, and It Exists!" to actually IF they build a temple one day. The shanghai temple was removed from the Church's own temple status page in the last week. Prior to that the status was Planning and approval phase; site location unknown; groundbreaking not announced.
Every temple announced will eventually be built whether you all will be around to see it is another story. The Navuoo Temple was rebuilt even though doubters and haters mocked at the original loss. The Kirtland Temple has return to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints after it fell into others hands. Everything that will happen as announced. You are like those who mock Christians in general for waiting 2000 years for the return of Jesus Christ but He will return. Sooner than we think. Amen 🙏
You said it yourself, y’all been waiting 2,000 years for a dead man to return🤡💀 I mean come on even a 5 year old would be able to tell you that coming back to life is impossible. Fairytales don’t exist bud, time to grow up.
"The Mormon Temples they may NEVER build" The list is infinitely long. For example, it is unlikely one will ever be built on an island in the middle of Lake Okeechobee.
I’d rather listen to this man who can think critically and has logical reasoning skills than listen to a brain dead old man who thinks he talks with god🤣
Ah the mormons, always such an easy target... And the negative videos are so good for clicks aren't they. If you're not giving any money to the church why do you care what they do with it? What they build with it, or when they build it?
Because anti-mormonism makes good money. 💰 It’s a great way of making money by being negative. People tend to believe negative comments before a positive one. That’s the way of the natural man. That’s how people were made to be convinced that Jesus Christ was evil so they killed Him even though He did much good. I know it was meant to happen but that is the state of man to believe the negative above all.
This cult doesn’t need money lmao, they’ve got at least $260 billion that we are aware of🤣 And how is this video negative? He’s simply exposing the truth about how this cult lies and deceives its members

IS JESUS AND SATAN BROTHERS? In sharp contrast to your Mormon theology, the Biblical witness is clear and convincing: Jesus is the ETERNAL CREATOR GOD (John 1; Colossians 1, Hebrews 1; Revelation 1). Paul explicitly taught that Jesus is God the CREATOR of all, including the angelic realm to which Satan belongs (Colossians 1:15-16; cf. John 1:3). Jesus is thus Satan's Creator, not HIS spirit brother. [Jesus] is the image of the invisible God, the FIRSTBORN over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers, all things were created through HIM and for HIM. Colossians 1:15-16 (NKJV)
When you seek answers from the Book of Mormon instead of the Bible, God can't help you because you have turned your back on Him. Therefore this leaves the door open for Satan (II Corinthians 11:14-15) to step into your life with a false christ or prophet showing you signs and wonders to lead you away from the real Jesus of the Bible who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity. God Himself warns us about this in: MATTHEW 24: 23-24 "Then if anyone says to you, Look, here is the Christ! or There! do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect..." Mormons teach and believe that their jesus is the brother of Satan, which contradicts what God says in His Bible that Jesus is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity. So Mormons, which Jesus do you believe in? A. Your jesus of the Book of Mormon, who is the brother of Satan. OR B. The Jesus of the Bible who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity.
We don’t look for answers in the Book of Mormon instead of the Bible. We look for answers in the Book of Mormon in addition to looking for them in the Bible. The Book of Mormon is a second witness of Jesus Christ. The Bible 0:01 says out of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. The Book of Mormon is from the lineage of Joseph who was sold into Egypt by his brothers and it is a witness of Jesus Christ. The Bible particularly the New Testament is from the lineage of Judah. You may not need a second witness but many around the world do especially in this world that is growing more evil. The two lineages of Israel provide the two witnesses. Judah the lineage of which salvation comes from. Joseph the lineage of which preservation comes from. Let those who have wisdom and sincerity understand these words and be blessed.
Lucifer before he became Satan was called the son of morning. He was not always satan. Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of Heavenly Father. He was sent to Earth to atone for our sins. He died on the cross and was resurrected on the third day. Please do not twist our doctrine to make it fit your hateful narrative. You become like a tinkling cymbal. If you lived 2000 years ago, would you recognize Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior? I have my doubts because of the way you pass judgment.
@@alexdsr1 No, the Book of Mormon is not another Testament of the Jesus of the Bible who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity. Your jesus of the Book of Mormon is the brother of Satan, which contradicts what God says in His Bible that Jesus is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity. Also the so called lineage of Joseph is not referring to Joseph Smith the false prophet of the Book of Mormon.
@@alexdsr1 When you mock Jesus Christ and say that he is a created being the brother of Lucifer, you are a blasphemer and will not inherit the kingdom of God. God will not be mocked. The first spirit to be born in heaven was Jesus, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 129). Jesus and Satan are spirit brothers and we were all born as siblings in heaven to them both, (Journal of Discourses, vol. 6, p. 8; Gospel Through the Ages, p. 15).
My boyfriend was born in China, and when I told him about the church making plans to build a temple in Shanghai, he burst out laughing.

I am French and I agree with you ! For me mormonism sounds to much american

Yes

Lol! Its not like prophets can see around corners and know whats going to happen 😂
I just don’t know what it’s going to take for the Church to shift away from this false certainty to the realization that just because God MAY speak through a prophet doesn’t mean every word, edict and action of the prophet is inspired.

Most Temples are opposed in one way or another. It has been this way since the restoration.
Nothing new here.
Don't be surprised if another one is announced for North New Jersey. Maybe overlooking Tony Sorpano's home.
Please stop force fitting your temples into the wrong places and harming the relationships of the communities around them.

why all these temples are being announced? Rusty is trying to leave a legacy for himself, and to outdo Gordon Hinckley, who was the previous record holder of the most temples announced and built under a church President's watch. Nelson has never forgiven Hinckley for politely tearing him a new arse in General Conference, in front of the tabernacle audience and members watching at home, saying that there was nothing wrong with using "Mormon" as a nickname for the Church, after Nelson had admonished members to use only the full name of the Church in the GC six months earlier. With Nelson it's always been his narcissism and ego.

I live in Shanghai where a temple was promised…and I think China was not on board.

Potemkin Temples. Potemplekins.

When I was a Mormon (not all that long ago), I thought Temple announcements were on the same level as revelation. And at least some revelations do not require a time frame. These Temple announcements can linger in limbo for 500 years and still be "from God".
They are still considered by revelation. However many western temples have a high number of full tithe payers. Hence temples built in Arizona, Utah, and Canada.

Why don't the just built manufactured temples. It makes more sense than those multiple million dollar buildings that only have use for a few in the church.
People forget these prophetic announcements and later when another so called prophet, seer and revelator finally builds a temple on these locations, the church and members will rejoice on how inspired Pres Nelson was and he knew (or God has revealed to him) that was going to happen and prepared the people for the temple in the future. Or just say as JS used to say when revelations failed, that the saints were not brave enough and God upheld the blessings for a time until they repent and humble themselves and turn to God.
West Mountain is the temple that makes the least sense.
Why does the church think they can outdo God in creation?
Nelson is such a mess and the members let him get away with it.

Why does the Dubai temple info commercial sound like a Scientology commercial? I do like the use of professional extraterrestrial musicians for the composing of the music. Shows this church is very inclusive of all of God’s creations in the universe.
As far as I am concerned, I consider these to be just a land grab.
I'm a never-mo but the yearly "delusional temples that will never ever get built" is awesome and might be even worth the 10% 😂
So, Mormon prophets can see around corners can they? And I thought they walked a straight line, so why are these corners so important? I guess because there are so many ex Mormons there. Come back you lot. Well done Nemo.
They walk a crooked walk, and talk a crooked talk...
"The Lord picked the location" Elder Bednar knows full well that the Lord has nothing to do with it. Russia? Good luck with that, I guess the supposed Prophet couldn't see the war coming.
We'll let you know when it's time for pretenders to open their lying mouths.
Thank you Nemo. As a resident of Las Vegas, this temple is useless, an abscene location and an absolute display of wealth and greed with no regard for the people that live in the area.
When you're broke and struggling asf, but you need to keep that payroll flowing for that Building of god with many wives 😅😅😅
I thought this was gonna cover the old announced sites (Independence, Far West). They even laid cornerstones at Far West.
I bet TBM say "the Russian/Ukraine conflict is the adversary impeding the temple being built in Russia and impeding the growth of the church!"
This sort of all-the-glamor-and-none-of-the-work pattern was established early on in LDS Church history. Just go visit Independence and Far West Missouri and you'll find dedicated site and even cornerstones, but absolutely no temple.
Nemo, if you think 300 temples is a lot. You haven't seen anything yet.
How easy, to sit on the sidelines and play coach and try to look smart, while doing it! 😂😂😂
I’m struck by Pres Nelson’s wording, “we plan to build.”
That should be enough to soften the imperative to build a specific plan in a specific spot, whereby the Church is currently steamrolling local communities and polluting its own bathwater for future missionary efforts.
Sadly, I don’t think we’ll see any moderation in leadership until Uchtdorf ascends to the top. :(
Bednar will destroy the church before uchtdorf has a chance to fix it better.
moderation??? r u kidding??? he wants open borders ans gave biden presidential race money!!!!!
Your going to see… you will see… everyone will eventually see…. blessings to all!
Oh these people don’t know when to stop 😢
Hopefully the multi-purpose temple in China will have the essential oversized steeple !
Barcelona, Spain temple. Not gonna happen🤣
The 4 Mexico 🇲🇽 City temple are 4 others
Dude, you have no idea what you’re talking about. The temple here in Urdaneta 2:52 the Philippines was announced in 2010 and we just had the open house April 2024. It is a beautiful temple.
2024?
All you do is leave hate comments on Nemo’s videos lol, get a life pal.
Oops, yes 2024.

Good stuff, Nemo!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I believe that new temple locations are reveled from above. Therefore, the Lord will facilitate the work to progress. It may take a while to get organized & approved, but it will happen.
Above what?
Up there where Buddah and Mohamed are hanging out
Bless you!
Hinckley and Monson seemed alright but Nelson and Oaks seem like a couple of creeps
Because we didn't need to know
I feel like announcing dozens of new temples every 6 months at conference is fool-hardy. So few of them have even gone through the approval process with local municipalities, and many of them are contested by local citizens.. I feel like announcing all of these temples is just for show to make conference more interesting because, let's face it, it's a drag.
LoL 😂
You are kidding me.
Conference is the best thing I look forward to going along with many others.
The talks are spiritually uplifting and give hope and guidance in these last days.
The temples are being built quickly because we are in the last days. You have no idea what you are talking about.
It’s good to be skeptical but not cynical.
c = a + i.
Cynicism equals arrogance plus ignorance.
Arrogance because they think they know all about the subject and pass judgement accordingly.
Ignorant because they don’t know what they’re talking about.
smh
"Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!! The Great OZ has spoken!!" 😂 Temples are for🧙 wizards of Oz!! Full of Magic!! Lol
Rusty got off on the gasps for Russia 😂
Moo🐮🐮🐮I am a cow.
"The Mormon Temples they may NEVER build"
The list is infinitely long. For example, it is unlikely one will ever be built on an island in the middle of Lake Okeechobee.
👍

HAHAHA NEMO THINKS HE KNOWS HOW THE LDS CHURCH WORKS? HE KNOWS THE FUTURE? WHY DOES ANYONE LISTEN TO HIM.?
I’d rather listen to this man who can think critically and has logical reasoning skills than listen to a brain dead old man who thinks he talks with god🤣
Ah the mormons, always such an easy target... And the negative videos are so good for clicks aren't they. If you're not giving any money to the church why do you care what they do with it? What they build with it, or when they build it?
Because anti-mormonism makes good money. 💰
It’s a great way of making money by being negative.
Because I’ve given a life savings to the church before I left.
Nemo what eye am I supposed to be looking at?
Regardless of your viewpoint on any of this, such comments are never appropriate and are reprehensible.
@@bryandexter7874 do you also have one eye that is looking for a hoot owl and the other eye looking at the bar pit for a stick to hit it with? They are jokes just like this video.
Colossians 1:15-16
(NKJV)
Do you anti-Mormon ever review the drivel you post?
When you seek answers from the Book of Mormon instead of the Bible, God can't help you because you have turned your back on Him. Therefore this leaves the door open for Satan (II Corinthians 11:14-15) to step into your life with a false christ or prophet showing you signs and wonders to lead you away from the real Jesus of the Bible who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity. God Himself warns us about this in: MATTHEW 24: 23-24
"Then if anyone says to you, Look, here is the Christ! or There! do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect..."
Mormons teach and believe that their jesus is the brother of Satan, which contradicts what God says in His Bible that Jesus is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity.
So Mormons, which Jesus do you believe in?
A. Your jesus of the Book of Mormon, who is the brother of Satan.
OR
@@alexdsr1
No, the Book of Mormon is not another Testament of the Jesus of the Bible who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity.
