I love this performance. Beautifully done. I've enjoyed watching it several times, and realized I neglected to thank CANDCJ for posting it, my bad. Chloe is always a delight on reeds, and the ensemble plays well together.

Hi SeanVplayer, Thanks for your comment. Yes, this hour while Chloe lead her mates was magic and catching. It is always a pleasure to videograph Chloe Feoranzo and to make it possible for others to enjoy. By the way, there are other clips covering this event. Mr Michael Steinman, with the code namne: swingyoucats , has another version.

I absolutely love this band! Everyone is so talented and so professional. I get to spend most every morning with you all as I take my mile walk.
I do have one major question, Chloe, what brand and model of tenor sax do you play?

John Reynolds is a good guitarist--first, for recognizing that electric guitar does not lend itself to this music. Next in realizing that the loudest acoustic guitar is the best for this. His steel, a dobro or a Selmer type (Django) will be heard better than most others. Then he gets to play so well..... but only one he's heard!

I think Chloe is much better on tenor than on clarinet; on clarinet her almost vibratoless tone sounds to thin to me. John Reynolds sounds like a mixture of Eddie Lang and Django Reinhardt - in a word, wonderful.

+MrJimmienoone :: Being that I love and admire Chloe enormously, I feel that it's not necessary that the clarinet be played with contentrated vibrato. However, if this is what you like then you must listen to Giacomo Smith at Patrus53.

MrJimmienoone I have listened to any number of clarinetists during my 70+ years and I have an extensive music library featuring several of them.
The clarinet is my favourite instrument and I also play, but as an amateur.
IMHO, Chloe is among the top jazz clarinetists today day. Lyrical, creative and effortlessly inventive.
And what’s in a pronounced vibrato that’s so important, may I inquire?
The late Pete Fountain’s vibrato was carefully chosen and featured with care on his recordings, as is Ken Peplowski’s.
Perhaps you prefer Sidney Bechet or Edmond Hall. They both had a pronounced vibrato (Bechet more than Hall).......... and I’m a big fan of Edmond Hall.
And as for me, I don’t find Chloe’s tone remotely thin. In fact, I find it fairly round and full. Her rendition of I’m Confessin’ (TH-cam) is pretty darn nice as regards tone.
Not that it’s important, but Benny Goodman made a great name and living for himself with a ‘thin tone’. Listen to either version of Runnin’ Wild as two examples among many. Chloe’s tone is fuller than Goodman’s, but that can be said of a number of clarinet players, even Buddy de Franco.
But again......I admire Goodman greatly for his technical mastery and musicianship.
Pete Fountain had perhaps the best tone I’ve ever heard but he used a large bore clarinet and a very soft reed ( a 1.75 to 2 !!) to achieve much of that.
As for me, I don’t care a hoot if ever I hear Chloe on a saxophone. She’s accomplished on the instrument, to be sure but what the musical world isn’t short of is saxophone players.
Good clarinet players are not a dime a dozen.
The clarinet is far more demanding than the saxophone and on clarinet Chloe’s the complete package and a major treat.........again IMHO.
But you know what the old lady said when she kissed the cow. ‘Every man to his own liking’😉
      Best Regards from Toronto.
