I have one that I used with my Fox DPS shock, it worked fine, but I now have a 2019 DPX2, and I can't seem to mount it without putting the hose in an awkward position, I could use a shorter hose, any suggestions?
This should be offered by local bikeshops with their bike purchases. Buy a new bike, rent this out. Probably best you get a deposit. New rider rides new bike and tunes suspension to liking. Return the product.
My Trek dealer does, you buy a bike they send you on the way with the ShockWiz, ride and come back with the bike and gadget, they run over the numbers and tweak it
My local shop rents them for 40 bucks a day. They help you do an initial calibration then send you on your way with a hand full of zip ties so you can switch it between the fork and shock during the ride. Just need a reservation system, really blows when you drive and they are already out of them for the day.
Rented one recently from a local shop. $40 for the weekend (overnight trip to camp/ride) and it was really cool to play with. Helped me considerably with a constant mid stroke/sag issue I’ve always had on my 2017 Santa Cruz Hightower. After all was said & done my bike went from really sick to MINDBLOWING!
Just ordered it myself because after riding a friends bike I feel like mine isn't set up correctly, but I haven't got enough patience and knowledge to set it up correctly without the Shockwiz. Looking forward to getting it :)
This is a valuable tool if you really want to spend the time getting your suspension dialed in. My LBS (Landry's - with many locations in Massachusetts) rents these out if any followers here live in the area 👍
Value comes after experience so if I were you guys I'd sell it for the $329 you said you have it up there for now, but do that payment in two installments. It would cost $100 up front, then after 7 days if the buyer hasn't downloaded a return shipping label; the remaining $230 would be charged. The reason I think this makes sense is many people like myself would consider renting one much more than buying one, but I also think once I have it in my possession and see how good it is - I'd like the option to buy it without loosing the original $100. Since the rental units would be used, if that $230 was charged the buyer would ship back the original (used) unit and pay for shipping on a new unit. Just a thought
Great in-depth video. Yes, I would run the Shock Wiz on my bike just to confirm the settings I am currently using and to double-check if I missed anything. The cost is what is holding me back on purchasing this.
Yes, I would consider renting if the price was right. Once the settings are dialed in I could save those settings the Shock Wiz recommends as a great base point for anywhere I ride, tweeking as needed.
Just upgraded my Yeti SB5 to DPX2 and just built my SB150 with the X2 this is definitely my choice to at least get a baseline to fine tune. It’s definitely helping me to get both dialed in. Thanks for the video!
I'd lone one for myself but primarily for my GF if it wasn't so pricey. She is a very new rider and it's hard for her to describe what she's feeling on her bike, so I it makes turning it a little tricky given there is such a big difference between our weights... But I could definitely see myself getting one in the future. I love tinkering and adjusting, and it would be pretty neat to compare what I'm feeling to what it's saying
Shock setup and adjustment is usually a one time deal, so buying the Shockwiz really isn't feasible. But it would be great if you would offer shock setup and adjustment (with Shockwiz) with new bike purchase or as a stand alone service.
For renting charge the full rate upfront then depending on how many days they have it deduct $x per day when you get it back. That way if they decide to keep it you aren't on the hook.
Is there an option to see how much travel was used??? I currently ride a 100mm fully, but is considering a 120 or even 140 mm. Would shockwiz be able to aid in that decision?? I guess it would tell you to add spacer and pressure, if you keep get too close to bottom out and if you end up with too little sack, then you need more travel??? Or is that a bad pointer?
I think if you ride your terrain and bike long enough that you know how u want it to ‘feel’. I ride my gen 3 nomad pretty firm but I like not willowing out in the mid stroke And I like not having the front fork settle to deep in the travel. Each person is different
*How to rent these?* ... If you want to rent these, do the following: 1. Require CC/Debit card deposit. 2. Develop a price for a certain qty of days. (Much like Netflix) 3. Include the return label and package with the product. 4. Customer to return the product when done. 5. If the customer does not return it. Charge their CC/Debit card for the full price.
Have y’all tried using a tape measure and see what the difference is between the two methods? Old way vs new way I would like to see that one. The price I think is way to high for what it really does. If the price went down to $125.00 to I would get one
Before you rent or purchase be sure to check compatibility. I found out unfortunately that not only was my fork and shock not on the incompatibility list, the fork and shock is proprietary because the bike manufacturer did a special run through fox with dual chambers so the shock whiz didn’t work.
I’ve used it didn’t find it useful. It actually made it a lot worth in my set up; I prefer to set up my shock manually using my experience and feel for my bike.
You guys should make a competing private label product. Can’t imagine the electronics are that complicated. Surely the price is just trying to capitalize on newness + overbiked masses.
As a software developer I can say confidently and with all respect, that you (and most people) don't imagine the amount of research and development necessary to develop a product like this. Cheers

@@cmacblue42 LOL, waiting for your ShockWiz clone already. Will it be a weekend project just for getting a board on a case or will it include firmware and iOS/Android apps as well?
I do believe that the Shock Wiz will work but you will still need to set up your negative air chamber based off of the results that you will get from the Shock Wiz. I do not think it will tell you outright what to set your negative volume to, which is usually equal to or slightly over the positive air chamber based on your personal preference. :)

Would you run a ShockWiz or do you think it is unnecessary? Let us know!
I would love to try one out for a weekend! Do you guys rent these out?
I would like to try one but not buy one.
Where's the $29.99 rental fee for a week with pre-printed shipping labels. I'd be all for that!

Would this device help me tune my Fox DYAD RT2 Shock being that this shock has 2 separate air chambers? Please advise.
This product is not compatible with that shock, unfortunately.
My shop rents these out, my fork only has compression and rebound, and my shock just has rebound. Is it still worth to rent?

Haha Sure it does! Come demo it. :)
How accurate is it ???
It's actually pretty damn accurate and pretty easy to use once you're through the initial setup.
What does active mean guys ?
I would say that you could consider active similar to responsive without feeling too springy.

How do you attach this to a fork? Many forks (mine included) have the valve at the top, and we definitely can't attach this to the stanchion.
