Beksinski's art in 3D is another level of nightmare inducing. Also: I work with 3D models a lot and the fact that he did this all on his own is insane. The texture work, sound design and lighting create a fantastic atmosphere. I personally loved the fact that praying corpse bro, who has been called useless (among other things) whenever you approached him was the one who actually saved you in the end. Question is: would he have done this if you had never approached and just ignored him? And I love the fact that the game goes the "death is just the beginning" route, especially since the universe is already "dead". So the possibilities are endless.
This game is beautifully macabre. There is a certain aura to this game that speaks wonders. I love the artstyle, despite me not being a fan of horror that much. It just conveys so much without anything needing to be said. And the fact that all these models were made by one person is incredible. Keep up the good work, Dragonis!
Wasn't expecting to hear William Blakes Augeries of Innocence here. The poem was a central part of the first Tomb Raider movie with Jolie as Lara. IIRC the first line of the poem was crucial to helping her find the missing piece of the triangle of light.
Felt like lore-wise game the sand boundary is more likely not just a sand barrier that keeps you from wandering off to your immediate doom outside it's protection, but no doubt it acts like a protection to your already decaying form as it's clear much of place is a dying world like the game Scorn.

I think the references to IRL poems and such is a good choice. A) There's a lot of good works to reference that would fit this perfectly and it saves some time for the creator to work on other things, creative collaboration so to speak. B) It's our universe, this is the end of an existence that we're a part of, everything flows to the Old Gods in the end. A man that died 20 millennia ago comes back just to see this. Not sure if that'd be the lore but with nothing filled in, main character lore wise as of the demo, you're just taking the role of this resurrected creature and the only thing you could possibly do in this situation is compare it to, for the sake of argument, 21st century Earth.
Can you imagine a sandbox survival craft game with this art style? Like instead of chopping down trees and mining coal you have to chop up fossilized giants and harvest bleeding eyes…
Games like these have infiltrated my mind so much, along with reading Lovecraft. I literally had a dream where I was ripped from this realm into some form of Hell and there were literal monoliths constructed of infant bones, the ground littered with corpses. Because the so-called king of Hell lost his wife and child during childbirth and was trying to ressurect the baby but he couldn't because there was no afterlife for a child that was never a mortal soul. Definitely one of the more obscure dreams I've had. Edit: damn this game really edges your curiosity

"Like a newly dropped AAA title" I felt that one in my bones, brother 🤣 Also, I'm gonna say that most of the things you checked out, and had to ask, "is that human", probably weren't human...
While I'm not really a fan of this kind of environment (blood and bones, or various forms of organic materials like in Scorn), I do enjoy the writing. The texts and dialogues use words in a way that I find really poetic. The death of everything that ever was, even death itself, and old gods still trapped in a universe that met its end long ago, it paints something that I find really pretty, because it's mysterious despite the fact that we're told about it. It asks questions that shall never be answered : what was the old world like, how did the gods control it, how come death hasn't faded away completely yet despite everything else being gone. It's actually quite difficult to put exactly into words what fascinates me with that sort of writing, because it's not something that's told, but something that's felt. I just naturally find it poetic and beautiful, and I often wish that I could paint the worlds in my head using only words like that.

All of his work is dark and gruesome. But I think its beautiful and so so so interesting. It makes me want to draw. Also, sad fact Beksinski was stabbed to death for refusing to give someone he knew money.
Thank you IGP for playing these games I may never have the chance to play. This playthrough had me thinking about what the end times would be like in space.
I think he saved you because you showed him that in his undeath he prayed to nothing and nothing happened. If death is dead then nothing can die - only wither away endlessly.
Love watching your playthroughs, the admiration to detail and respect you give to the artists and stories in your channel is second to none in the streaming world of online horror. I've been a long-time subscriber of the channel, and continue to love what you put out there. Slight spoilers for Scorn (if such a story could even have such a thing). By the way, I love this game from what I've seen, and I have always adored the artwork of Zdzislaw Beksinski. It's good to see with the advent of hyperrealist graphics from technology that his vision could be given proper justice in depiction. Of Heaven with Eternal Life and Hell with Infinite Death, in this grim world it looked like eventually the splendour of Heaven could not survive. When the Cosmos reached the end of its need for living things, Heaven seems to have vanished with it. Hell, with its arrogant striving for immortality, outlived creation itself, no longer welcome in its own universe after the rest had parted ways. These are the proud, the powerful, the comforted, now robbed of what gave them life and purpose, now grasping at the solemn remnants of their once glorious empire. This world in front of the Gate seems to have been alive once, overcome by the need to be seen in all its glory eons ago. My personal head canon is that this world was once part of the world of Scorn a long time ago, but anything of flesh and blood has since decayed away. Scorn already manifested some of this on the surface of its Netherworld, but this is that process carried out to completion, consuming everything else. This particular area seems to have been part of the soul's journey to reincarnation, but the machinery could not withstand the ravages of time and neglect, eventually seizing. The mechanism that created the flesh avatar in Scorn is tied to the being that inserts your brain at the beginning, possibly similar to the pedestal that animated the Perfected Mothers before reaching the Gates of Life in Scorn. I could actually see this as a spiritual sequel, where Scorn took place in the middle of the Cosmic Death as a desperate attempt to halt if not reverse the Necrophosis that was starting to spread through the universe.
This was so uncomfortable to watch, i loved it! I also loved the fact that you mentioned Lorna Shore. I also thought it sounded similar! Love it dude, please more!

This game looks phenomenal! I cannot wait for you to play the full version. It's super creepy and odd I love it so much. The rhymes and visuals are just spectacular!!❤
this game is so atmospheric, i cant explain it but i felt sadness through the whole video
Hi IGP I'm a huge fan of your channel I have been watching for 2 years and your content is amazing
You always find the most interesting games. This is a visual gem for sure! Somehow, it reminds me of Apocrypha, like from Skyrim's Dragonborn DLC. Just based on vibes alone, lol.
I know I’m not as active on here but im a huge fan and your games distract me from my real life problems thank you for that
SCORN but in the desert
Scorn was in the desert.
@IGP that was more environmental devastation, nuclear fallout kind of desert by definition
This is a good old-fashioned dystopia mad Max desert
A desert but better
That laser guy @23:50 is obviously a _Space Jockey_ nod
Games like this and scorn give me so much hope that videogames can become much more!
Love the artstyle! Incredible! Beksinski is one of my fav artists ever!
Really Indie? A video at the edge of 12 AM?
I couldn't resist
Was just about to comment about Beksinski, but then you literally said his name. Immediately recognized the buildings. The guy was an architecture student before an oil painter.
All of his work is dark and gruesome. But I think its beautiful and so so so interesting. It makes me want to draw.
Also, sad fact Beksinski was stabbed to death for refusing to give someone he knew money.
When indie starts outdoing AAA games in the creativity department
Thank you IGP for playing these games I may never have the chance to play. This playthrough had me thinking about what the end times would be like in space.
Is it weird that this game makes me feel comfortable
Welcome into the Arma 3 fold. So much fun to see people get excited about it and experience there own unique Arma moments
41:50 bro not in any way is that a angel
Why are you skipping through? ._.
he is MY angel
I think he saved you because you showed him that in his undeath he prayed to nothing and nothing happened. If death is dead then nothing can die - only wither away endlessly.
Ive loved this guys artwork since i was young, i always called it nightmare art. Im so happy others are keeping it alive.
This world is not is great shape right now.
Been waiting for an upload! Thanks bro :)
Damn the world is amazing as hell, I really loved scorn and this game pretty similar, in a good way. Nice video as always.
The lorna shore reference was amazing
Lorna Shore mention was absolutely deserved and fire. i live in this realm when i listen to them, and not in a bad way
This was so uncomfortable to watch, i loved it!
I also loved the fact that you mentioned Lorna Shore. I also thought it sounded similar!
Love it dude, please more!
Beksinski is one of my favorite artists. Such a fantastic design. Also, Returnal used lots of inspiration from his works as well.
