I really hope King has a chance to apply himself by taking everyone's advice and taking it upon himself to become stronger. That seems like a compelling character arc to me. Going from someone who actively avoids putting forth effort and not engaging with the world to someone who wants to work towards bettering himself so he can help other people.

in webcomic when he said "not that much of a feat" the other interpret it as King being much much more powerful than the rumor which is hilarious.. If Saitama tried to use his powers to win video games, he'd either break his controller or hit the limits of the game engine's ability to take in input. For Saitama, video games are contests of pure skill, not physical power, and King has that all over Saitama.

I really want for King to get strong enough to actually fight some weaker monsters, but it be reasoned off that he has some sort of power inhibitor just so he can feel weak again, and have them reason that king is going to be much stronger when he does manage to get back to his "current" level with the (supposed) inhibitor on. This way, King can actually struggle and still be seen as weak, and then he can have a dramatic bluff moment where he removes his fake limiter, but in reality something happens to defeat his enemy and people think it was him. He puts back on his disguise, and continues on.

This was because of Genos. Remember the heart core of Genos that Saitama was holding when he was fighting with Cosmic Garou, that heart goes back through time as well and sent back to Genos, which makes him see what happened in the other timeline of Saitama vs Garou. HE SAW EVERYTHING. Sadly, he can only access the memory, but not a video cast of it. So he told this to the Hero HQ, but they don't believed. I guess the feats of saving another timeline by Saitama, told by Genos, is given to King instead.
that training was only part of the process. It was all will power and mind. He pushed himself so far beyond his limits that he in a sense broke his limiter, he did this by training, but the same could be done by any other means that pushes ones self.

I feel like the only reason monsters formed a group was because a few smart and strong individuals strong armed everyone else into joining. @@guillaumerattaire290 I think there's an interesting way to balance this kind of busted power and it has to do with how if Belief that he is strong makes him strong, then Belief that he is weak makes him weak. It's a double-edged sword, relying on the public perception and you could imagine the implications of those who can manipulate the mass. An interesting way to play this would be having King awaken this power or at least be aware that he always had it to begin with... during a fight. To make it extra spicy, make it right when or after the public has lost their faith in him. With no one left to believe in him (or at least having it so the few who do believe in him aren't around), maybe the only power left to draw from is himself, his self-belief... and training but most especially, mainly making people believe in him again.

I think King's real power is insane luck. Both bad and good. His apartment gets attacked by giant monsters - but Saitama also arrives just in time to destroy them and save him. As King is out walking - Garou is about to sneak attack him, But Saitama happens to join King, sees Garou coming and smacks him down instantly. King's heartbeat brings him the most dangerous enemies but also his strongest allies.

I guess the whole thing of the manga is the "Cursed with Awesome" trope. Saitama can obliterate anything with one punch, but it just means that nothing really stimulates him anymore, and most people either look down on him or don't acknowledge what he can do because of his nonchalant attitude. King, on the other end of the spectrum, is seen as this unbelievable force of nature, but in reality was just at the right place at the wrong time and is just a somewhat scary-looking guy. Wouldn't want to be in either's shoes.
That early premise is so much like the idea of Jujutsu Kaisen, how Gojo is obviously the strongest, but he wants others to catch him and even surpass him because he knows that a pillar cannot be relied on to hold everything together.
if King learns to control the King Engine he would actually be able to rapidly develop himself. the King engine being his heart beating rapidly and loudly if he could tame his heart and learn to control the beat, he could cause blood to pump to the extremeties at a rapid rate, allowing for the development of ATP(Adenosine Triphosphate) and the rapid development of his muscles. allowing him to get stronger much faster
King was actually being shown the answer in the end, the introspective lessons. If he could control his power he could stop things from getting out of hand, or have a hand in how it plays out.
all these characters are fictional, I know, but I can't help but empathize with King and looking for solutions.... here are few options he can try: 1- put on a mask, and pretend to be someone else, he can tell people that his tradition or religion forbid him from removing the mask, so he can be just a new recruit in a dojo and actually learn. 2- if he can't pull the mask trick, he can pretend to be (President), the twin brother of King who was born with no power, and hopes to reach the same level as his brother. .... if people have x-ray vision to see beneath masks and have access to government records and can tell King has no brothers, you can try the last trick as a last resort, it is risky tho. 3- yes, I am king, yes, I did all these things, but I lost my powers..... I fought a weird monster who stole all my powers, his body couldn't contain all this power and exploded in a mere second... but I stilll couldn't get my powers back, now I am a regular human, please train me well so I can reach my full potential once more..... the risk from this story is that people will believe it, and many enemies will try to hurt him now when they have the chance, every criminal or monster who feared him, every hero who considered hm a rival, will now try to take him down....
Kings Power is Universal Luck. It's turned on when you hear the King Engine. He can't control it and he doesn't really know about it. That's why in confrontations he's always afraid. If he actually knew he had this ability he wouldn't be afraid. But many times his Luck ability saved him when he wasn't afraid, he just didn't know what was going on. Maybe it's like an Auto-Defense Shield. When activated it takes the necessary steps to make sure King is safe. Either by having other heroes step in at the right time or by having others intelligence dumbed down so whatever King sez they believe. Like when he so called sliced the apple. LoL They believed every word he said and didn't question him.
i hope they build up a bad guy thats just like king with a heart problem and the kingsmen ability and he and king have a fight where no one shows up because the are fighting all around the background while normal people watch and think they are moving so fast they look like there standing still and the bad guy( the strongest of ... race) has an explosive heart attack and king barley wins
Since their bombarding saitama's door only to accidentally get a glimpse of King in the background and all of them immediately step back and freak like Saitama just rubbing shoulders with all the S rank already and the very king himself
King and Saitama is like a pair made for each other. The only ones who understands them is each other. King understands Saitama's overwhelming strength, and Saitama respects that King is not who everyone claims to be. If anyone is worthy to train King, it's Saitama himself
King is by far my favorite character in OPM. Murata shows that there's another way to be overpowered: insane plot armor. King is just a walkiny deus ex machina at this point and I'm here for it.

Instance... king understands both aspects while the blizzard is still struggling to understand the one... For instance... king begins lifting... the one most likely to take sitama seriously when told to... also begins to have less of a burden on his image not aligning with Kings sense of self... And if journey continues... king should end up... A. Unintentionally filling and fitting the image he was portrayed as... And.. B. Following the exaggerated method of training others "think" sitamas training regiment consisted of... C. (Extra credit) king would end up after so many different ways of training being exaggerated and changed... go screw it.. I'll do it all... tying back to how Sitama said "just lift" to blizzard... meaning... to start he would be lifting literally... then both metiphoricaly and literally... Where sitama was week... then focused and became strong in a considerably short period of time... where when he had energy to spare he would go out... Now king following in sitamas footsteps we would be able to watch from "know the king is week" to activate seeing the king get stronger... The words... what are the words I'm looking for. How Sitama skipped the getting stronger or it was in short story format... king getting stronger is basically boiling down to.. "Okay... we got a hero who gets strong because his senses of conviction and determination is just that strong allowing for a short but hard path to strength in the one punch man settings and a hero who is his proxy... where his path to strength is slow and... difficult. Constantly under pressure.. While sitama is the pressure he's constantly under... but takes it vastly different then the other high class heroes who know how powerful sitama is... So when they tell king there is nothing they can teach them... is because it would most likely be the classic... this powerful person doesn't even know their own strength... "But knows how to use it" Again... sitama functionally one powerful unit... King... essentially three powerful units... One king wanted an answer so unit one takes control... where usually every one up against king is felling and thinking the same thing about the situation at hand about king when he does arrive at a scene.. using this unconsciously to his advantage to truly understand what sitama says with "just lift" Second unit.. the heart... aka the kings engine.. a matter of presence... "The body is a drum, the heart is its beat." The third unit... the body... the reason king seems weak... is probably because his body is more focused on keeping up with his strength of heart... Which is a real medical condition as well as what king is basically representing... The body growing slowly to the strength that is the strength of heart... While sitama has strengthen of mind... Which they would end up taking after each other... Sitama having a better outlook for life overtime while king gets stronger overtime... and eventually sitama meet in the middle and share a wonderful moment... in battle and at peace... probably meany... and probably concluding as usual... with sitama getting absolutely mashed at video games... and sitama finally having someone who could go blow for blow with with minimal damage to surrounding area... while of course still having an area of effect.... and king being absolutely lead by the nose by sitama in their "sparing sessions" Which probably look like two dragon class catastrophes canceling echother out for as long as they spar
The material of the dumbells and weights that king attempts to lift quiver at both the sight as well as the sound of kings meager muscles trying their utmost best contract and work, the dumbells cower in fear and lift themselves up in pure fear of king crushing them with his pure stregnth

I'm pretty sure the only reason King can beat Saitama in video games is because Saitama's powers can't help him win video games. If Saitama tried to use his powers to win video games, he'd either break his controller or hit the limits of the game engine's ability to take in input. For Saitama, video games are contests of pure skill, not physical power, and King has that all over Saitama.

I really want for King to get strong enough to actually fight some weaker monsters, but it be reasoned off that he has some sort of power inhibitor just so he can feel weak again, and have them reason that king is going to be much stronger when he does manage to get back to his "current" level with the (supposed) inhibitor on.
This way, King can actually struggle and still be seen as weak, and then he can have a dramatic bluff moment where he removes his fake limiter, but in reality something happens to defeat his enemy and people think it was him. He puts back on his disguise, and continues on.

This was because of Genos. Remember the heart core of Genos that Saitama was holding when he was fighting with Cosmic Garou, that heart goes back through time as well and sent back to Genos, which makes him see what happened in the other timeline of Saitama vs Garou. HE SAW EVERYTHING. Sadly, he can only access the memory, but not a video cast of it. So he told this to the Hero HQ, but they don't believed. I guess the feats of saving another timeline by Saitama, told by Genos, is given to King instead.

that training was only part of the process. It was all will power and mind. He pushed himself so far beyond his limits that he in a sense broke his limiter, he did this by training, but the same could be done by any other means that pushes ones self.

@@guillaumerattaire290 I think there's an interesting way to balance this kind of busted power and it has to do with how if Belief that he is strong makes him strong, then Belief that he is weak makes him weak. It's a double-edged sword, relying on the public perception and you could imagine the implications of those who can manipulate the mass. An interesting way to play this would be having King awaken this power or at least be aware that he always had it to begin with... during a fight.
To make it extra spicy, make it right when or after the public has lost their faith in him. With no one left to believe in him (or at least having it so the few who do believe in him aren't around), maybe the only power left to draw from is himself, his self-belief... and training but most especially, mainly making people believe in him again.

I guess the whole thing of the manga is the "Cursed with Awesome" trope. Saitama can obliterate anything with one punch, but it just means that nothing really stimulates him anymore, and most people either look down on him or don't acknowledge what he can do because of his nonchalant attitude. King, on the other end of the spectrum, is seen as this unbelievable force of nature, but in reality was just at the right place at the wrong time and is just a somewhat scary-looking guy.

That early premise is so much like the idea of Jujutsu Kaisen, how Gojo is obviously the strongest, but he wants others to catch him and even surpass him because he knows that a pillar cannot be relied on to hold everything together.

all these characters are fictional, I know, but I can't help but empathize with King and looking for solutions.... here are few options he can try:
1- put on a mask, and pretend to be someone else, he can tell people that his tradition or religion forbid him from removing the mask, so he can be just a new recruit in a dojo and actually learn.
2- if he can't pull the mask trick, he can pretend to be (President), the twin brother of King who was born with no power, and hopes to reach the same level as his brother.
.... if people have x-ray vision to see beneath masks and have access to government records and can tell King has no brothers, you can try the last trick as a last resort, it is risky tho.
3- yes, I am king, yes, I did all these things, but I lost my powers..... I fought a weird monster who stole all my powers, his body couldn't contain all this power and exploded in a mere second... but I stilll couldn't get my powers back, now I am a regular human, please train me well so I can reach my full potential once more.....
the risk from this story is that people will believe it, and many enemies will try to hurt him now when they have the chance, every criminal or monster who feared him, every hero who considered hm a rival, will now try to take him down....

Kings Power is Universal Luck. It's turned on when you hear the King Engine. He can't control it and he doesn't really know about it. That's why in confrontations he's always afraid. If he actually knew he had this ability he wouldn't be afraid. But many times his Luck ability saved him when he wasn't afraid, he just didn't know what was going on. Maybe it's like an Auto-Defense Shield. When activated it takes the necessary steps to make sure King is safe. Either by having other heroes step in at the right time or by having others intelligence dumbed down so whatever King sez they believe. Like when he so called sliced the apple. LoL They believed every word he said and didn't question him.

i hope they build up a bad guy thats just like king with a heart problem and the kingsmen ability and he and king have a fight where no one shows up because the are fighting all around the background while normal people watch and think they are moving so fast they look like there standing still and the bad guy( the strongest of ... race) has an explosive heart attack and king barley wins

"Okay... we got a hero who gets strong because his senses of conviction and determination is just that strong allowing for a short but hard path to strength in the one punch man settings and a hero who is his proxy... where his path to strength is slow and... difficult.

While sitama is the pressure he's constantly under... but takes it vastly different then the other high class heroes who know how powerful sitama is...
So when they tell king there is nothing they can teach them... is because it would most likely be the classic... this powerful person doesn't even know their own strength...

One king wanted an answer so unit one takes control... where usually every one up against king is felling and thinking the same thing about the situation at hand about king when he does arrive at a scene.. using this unconsciously to his advantage to truly understand what sitama says with "just lift"
Second unit.. the heart... aka the kings engine.. a matter of presence...

Sitama having a better outlook for life overtime while king gets stronger overtime... and eventually sitama meet in the middle and share a wonderful moment... in battle and at peace... probably meany... and probably concluding as usual... with sitama getting absolutely mashed at video games... and sitama finally having someone who could go blow for blow with with minimal damage to surrounding area... while of course still having an area of effect.... and king being absolutely lead by the nose by sitama in their "sparing sessions"
