You were great, I saw many videos trying to explain the same thing , but I couldn’t understand what they were saying,..while you were showing every step of the way in detail by walking us through,..very good 👍,..thank you
Great Video .. only thing I would ad is those cable ties with a thing to write on .. and label the wires .. every place that seems appropriate.. so you can trouble shoot in the dark with a flashlight in your mouth in the rain
Good Video , I did the same setup , but it never worked , ecoflow kept disconnecting. But your video gave me some insight on what I need to check on my connection, I think my ground is not correct , I tried different power station and noticed the Victron is ticking and keep disconnecting. It like the power is fluctuating up and down 🤷♂️, but thanks for the detailed video 👍
The first step would be to check the ground make sure there's a tight connection and make sure there's a good contact with no paint and no rust on the surface that you're trying to ground to. With the eco-flow cutting off if there is no power coming into it or no power going out on the default settings, I believe the eco-flow cuts off within 15 minutes
This is a great setup, nice video. If I have a solar panel on the roof, is there any way to charge Ecoflow Delta 2 with Solar and Alternator at the same time? Thank You
@helenabha, you can if you have the Ecoflow Delta 2 Max which has two independant solar inputs. In fact, I'm thinking of bringing up charching power to over 500w using the victron with one of the inputs at 420w and using the 12v lighter socket to plug in another solar charging cable to the ecoflow delta 2 max's second solar input. The car lighter thing can only charge at up to 100w. But 100w in addition to 420w is more than welcome. Don't know of it will work, but I don't know why it wouldn't.
I’m thinking of doing a temporary emergency set up from your first video. Battery to fuse and turn off yellow switch. In an emergency I will have a jumper to the inverter and charge EcoFlow if needed. All without a permanent mounting in the vehicle.
Hi Chris can you guide if this system can work with Anker Solix C1000 ? It has the capacity for 600W solar charge, I appreciate what you do thank you for putting out this useful information in a much much clear way.
I saw your last video about this Victron. So if I connect it in this way I should not have a problem with the SMART generator, as I understand your answer right .
On my vehicle, I do not have a smart alternator. Vehicles that do have it from my understanding yes, you hook it up the exact same way that I hooked it up on the video since you're not hooking it up to the negative part of the battery you're bypassing that sensor which is on the negative side of the battery. I have also looked around on TH-cam and there are lots of videos of how to bypass the smart alternators so what I would do is look up your year, making and model and type in how to hook up accessories to your smart alternator.

Thanks so much I needed this install video. I definitely would have caught my only truck car on fire. I really liked the double switch and agree not pulling over just to flip off the rear switch after the ecoflow is full. What gauge wire did you use from the battery to the back? And link?
Amazing video, just finished doing this to my '22 4Runer. If I wanted to use one of those OEM switches, how would you wire the ground and the power for it? (I just run the switch wire from the ACC fuse to turn on the DC inverter)
It gets warm, but it’s not going to get hot where it’s gonna burn you or do any damage. No I don’t have any concerns with the draw just make sure that the truck is running before you use it because it will kill your battery.
Hi Chris, quick question using Victron 12v dc to dc converter 30A in my minivan with OEM alternator which is probably 150amps can it damage alternator or starter battery since this will place load on it? or should I reduce the 30amp max to lower number, just want to know your thoughts. Thank you.
I have mine turned down just a quarter of a turn and my alternator has been holding it fine but every vehicle is different. I know with mine when it’s on the alternator is still pushing 14 V to the battery.
You may have to do a little bit more research into that, but from my understanding people who have the smart alternator can still use the same set up as long as you ground it to the chassis like I did and that grounded to the battery
I only have a single battery and yes, while you using the converter, make sure the engine is running. That is very important because it will kill your battery.
@@damiansmith391 it depends on the size of the battery, but without the alternator running, it will probably kill the second battery because it does pull a lot of power. This devices is made to run off of the alternator, not a standalone battery. As of your primary battery as long as it's not connected to the secondary battery, no it won't kill your primary battery.
@@chrislusk2189 because i thought you can messed up your alternator if you have 2 batteries powering it. Plus your power station charging which pulling power from the bettery.
No, I don't believe that's going to work because that plug I believe can only handle 12 V and also the Eco flow does not even except that plug as a charging input.
Why not just use an inverter like 1000w dc to ac instead. It would charge with up to 900 watts despite the conversation energy loss which would cut the charging time almost in half.
You're not necessarily wrong, but DC -> AC -> DC is lossy/inefficient.. and a device like this might be used in situations where efficiency is important.
It depends on your application for instance with me I have it wired up to my switch panel as you see and there are certain things like lights that are connected to that panel that I need to access without the ignition being turned on.
I just… don’t understand all of these dc to dc converter videos. I get 800w from my 1000w inverter straight into my delta 2 no problem. What the hell is everyone doing wrong?$90 inverter 800w people… don’t need this stupid xt60 connector or a dc to dc . Just hook an inverter to the car battery and plug the dang thing in why is this so hard?
One day you'll understand why, 😂 I'm still using an inverter for my Nintendo switch, because the available car charger with PD capability is too hot to power the console on dock mode.😅
@@diskartihannatin2447 what do you mean? That makes no sense? by what you said isn't the inverter the better choice? Of course I wouldn't recommend running anything off your car alternator at 800w for prologed periods but the ecoflow thing and dc to dc puts the same exact load on your alternator regaurdless
