    ah just like the Deltic, you can even hear the clag @0:16 - for those stating that it doesn't sound real enough, you need to bear in mind the scale and the downsized recording, the hum and engine of a Deltic is unique and it does indeed sound like this. This engine was developed for and by the Royal Navy and was used in the smaller fast attack craft style of ships - 1954 I think it's first use was, then in the early 60's it was put into what we now know as the Napier Deltic train - and it was a beast! A Train spotters delight I am sure!

    Hopefully, I'll get mine next week. There are 1000s on pre-order and they sold out on every livery :-) It must be a full-time job for Accurascale staff just packing them up now.

    Hi, gutted i missed this lovely model in this superb livery first time around, i have one on order from the second run, can't wait to get it, what does the Legomann class 55 sound like for this model, is it better than the factory sound file?Thanks for sharing.

    The Porterbrook Deltic is my first UK model I bought. The Deltic is a UK Masterpiece and I really love the Purple livery and the engines are so unique!
    Mine runs poorly at first, it had a truck/bogie that was jumping, I found a round and flat piece of dirt attached under a wheel.
    When I turned upside down the locomotive to check the problem, a little piece fells off.
    I can’t figure out where it goes but it isn’t broken.
    It looks like some sort of valve, probably is something that was attached to the fuel tanks.
    I have a question: do you know what types of coaches/carriages were pulled by the Porterbrook Deltic?

    Hi Richard, do you know who did the sound project for it ?
    Does sound good even without an EM2

      It's accurascale own sound, engineered to work perfectly with the onboard design and circuitry by ESU in Germany

    • @roadsandrails
      @roadsandrails  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ESU came over from Germany and recorded it for them, it does have an EM2! I think that’s why I’m not 100% satisfied, the Bachmann ones I did with EM2’s were a lot more impressive

      @@roadsandrails em1 and 15x11 cube is what I have been told, same as Irish a class

      @roadsandrails  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johnjmc yeah you’re right! It’s an EM1, on the video I’d seen it looked too big to be an EM1, but I’ve looked under the exhaust panel and it’s definitely an EM1

      Interesting that , although you mention elsewhere that a second speaker is fitted .
      Agree with you that EM2's work best on their own .

    Anyone do in-between sound decoders, all I can find is tts or expensive ones..

    • @roadsandrails

      There’s soundtraxx Econami, but not for the deltic

      Zimo are a good middle ground but would probably still recommend ESU with the lokprogrammer if you want to get the best sound experience.

      @@GoodfordModelRailway With both Zimo and ESU it really depends on the quality of the sound project. A high spec decoder and great speakers isn't going to sound good with an inadequate sound project.

    Hmm, is that what a Deltic sounded like? Wasn't expecting that really. Lovely model though.

      Yeah, it’s a pretty good representation,

    • @melchestermodelrailway

      @@roadsandrails Yes, I've just watched some video of the real thing. I was surprised by the sound of this locomotive, which seems more like an aircraft engine to me. Was expecting a much deeper gravelly sound, but as you say, the model is a pretty good representation.

      I believe it was a 2 stroke engine

    Looks really nice, but to me the sound file for both horn and engine are quite a way off the real thing. Take a look and listen at R MacVeigh’s “Class 55 The Deltics - The Race horses” uTube video- - both opening and closing 30 seconds and you will see what I mean. I am not aware after the mods to DP1 that there were further changes to the engine for the production versions. It’s a real shame but glad seen your video or else I would have been disappointed if purchased. Thanks Stephen.

      Considering all the sounds were in fact recorded live from a real Deltic, that seems rather subjective.

    Nice to see one which doesn’t have any thing wrong with it. My sons has white paint smudged on the bodywork, horn glued in place on bonnet with excess glue and a small piece lying in the packaging and we’ve not a clue where it goes. Have got return sorted out, going back on Tuesday. PS you purple one would look better with a rake of virgin mk2s
