I am proud to be a member of the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment. My first battle with the unit was the Panama Invasion of 1989. As a Paratrooper I will never forget that for the rest of my life. There are many guys who have fought in this unit from WWII, Vietnam, Grenada, Panama, OIF, and Afghanistan. We are still proud Red Devil Paratroopers! AIRBORNE ALL THE WAY!!!
Highlights of the airborne and glider operations during the invasion of northern France, OVERLORD. Footage of the famous crates the gliders came in. Invasion Stripe markings on the aircraft. Pathfinders. "Indian war paint." Troops exiting the aircraft on training runs. Gliders landing. Lots of training footage presented as combat film. Flooded areas as seen from the air. Glider landing sites with obstacles.
You claim Britain was the first nation to build "Concentrations Camps" However Spain was the first and even the USA had used "Concentrations Camps" before the British. It was never British Policy to mass murder! Britain stopped the Slave-Trade and never had slaves in the British Isles only its Dominions and Crown Colonies overseas. Britain did not have Concentrations Camps or Slaves during the Second World War like Hitler, Stalin and Japan!
Webster's dictionary says concentration camps mean, a prison camp in which political dissidents, members of minority ethnic groups etc. are confined. so the camps we put our Japanese citizens in during WW2 were concentration camps. I guess it depends on who is running the camps. that decide what happens inside them.
True Stalin was a tyrant, but I wasn't praising him. I was merely pointing out that without the war of attrition in the east the invasion in the west could not have happened. And I was praising the courage of the allied soldiers which at that time included Russian soldiers who faced the brunt of three major axis armies in a ferocious assault on their mother land. The main thing is that Hitler was defeated as far as I'm concerned.
The UK also had had Concentrations Camps, Labour Camps, Slaves and were led by a tyrant. And the UK was actualy the first nation in the world to build concentration camps.

Thank you Greatest Generation
Thank you to all the soldiers who fought hard and brave for our freedoms. 🤗
Sends shivers up my spine. These guys and their Russian counterparts in the east stopped unspeakable evil and for that, lest we forget....
The Pathfinders! First time I've ever heard of them.. I wonder if their still after the Marines??
Gliders scared my Grandfather (a medic) during the war, but it had to be done. I guarantee he never got into a glider after WWII.
I think they mean, "the film was produced in 1945" by giving (1945)...
...you didn't feel the need to point out that '45 was perhaps when the film was produced?
Hmmm understandable.
> What a great video
Yes, I agree without the Soviet Union it would be impossible for the Allies to launch D-Day.
The guy at the start sounds like Elmer Fudd.. I'd love to hear him say you waskley wabbit..
@506thEASYco Correct.
Can you elaborate on that ?.
Not forgetting the men and especially women back home that also made this happen.
I Agree With You at 100%

These men that jumped into enemy territory were so brave! To face the battle hardened nazi army on their turf, that took guts.
