The first little ceramic tree in the case is actually a cigarette lighter and ashtrays. I have one. The lighter is in the top of the tree and the layers separate into little ashtrays.
Enjoyed this vid. very much. I had no idea that the ceramic trees were so valuable. I have the one my mom made from the 1960’s. It is precious to me and I display it every year.🎄
Oh Rhonda! I love this video!! My mom received a handmade ornament like those you showed (satin balls with pins and embellishments) Ours is almost 60 years old. My mother in law also has some that were my husbands grandmothers. I now craft those myself!! I love it!! ❤️🎄💚
I have a few of those myself! Blue with white and silver beads. I am a "Collector" of Christmas ornaments....I give them to family and friends.....and I buy myself ones too! 😊
That was so much fun! Thank you for posting this. I saw many things from my childhood in the 60's and 70's. I'm pumped to go antiquing myself!! God bless.
Just a note if you didn’t know, for something to be called “Antique” it needs to be a 100 years old or older😊 That’s the definition of the word antique. Otherwise, if the item is younger than a 100 years you can call it old/older or vintage. Great video, you found some amazing stuff!✨😃🛷🎄
In all fairness Max-Roos, to many of these younger collectors, anything older than their parents, even if their parents are in their mid/late 40s is considered "Antique" LOL. I get what you are saying though Max. A learning curve for the upcoming generation of collectors. :)
@@rustynailmendlesohn8710 I see people listing things on FB marketplace labeled antique and some I just laugh. I wish people would learn the difference between "vintage" and "antique". Also, many people assume that because it's old, it's valuable. That's certainly not the case either. 😎
I have several of these. I found 2 boxes of shiny bright ornaments several years ago at a garage sale for $.50 a box! I have an old box of tinsel, I have 2 gurley candles, vintage deer, bottle brush trees, a set of putz houses, a tablecloth and a beautiful ceramic tree my dad made in the 1960’s. Many of these were in my parents house as I grew up.
I was thinking, the Popcorn Art, if anyone wanted to craft it, or do repairs, it could be EASILY done with the color glue sticks or paint, but Hot glue is perfect . Put the design put on parchment or even wax paper and it hardens as well as the original and its a great way to have the vintage look without vintage pricing. Just a thought. Ive done molds with hot glue and they actually work better than clay, by far New to your channel and Im binge watching!!! Been subbed for like 45 minutes and Im on my third upload, and LOVING it. And sharing with all my friends. Off to watch more! Be blessed my friend! And Thank you, again!
What a blast to my past....I still have several of the items on your list. Shiny Brite ornaments are some of my favorites on my tree along with the tree topper. Still a fan of bottle brush trees. Thanks for sharing this fun video.
I have many of the items from my childhood in the 50s and 60s. Shiny Brite ornaments. I got the Santa mug out today. He is winking with a rhinestone eye. I wish I still had the popcorn Santa and pumpkin from the 80s.
Out here in California the vintage ceramic christmas trees go for over 200.00 dollars. I would have snagged the cardinal christmas tree. That was definitely a rare find. ❤️
I have a vintage ceramic christmas tree. It has the light in it and the different color little ornaments that stick in the little holes. Its green and maybe 7 inch tall. It was my grandmothers, and Im 68 yrs old. I remember she had it when I was a little girl. I also have shiny brite ornaments in the box. I have bubble lights in the box, but they dont work. Have some of the old tree lights too.
Fun video, thank you for taking us along on your search for the top vintage Christmas items. Pretty certain none of your Santa mugs were vintage, except maybe one of the smaller ones you didn’t show picking up. Most vintage Santa mugs are marked Japan on the bottom, or have their original manufacture sticker (or sometimes in writing the name is on the bottom in the glaze, like Holt Howard, or a manufacturing number assigned--same with many vintage figurines that were originally sold in the 1950s/60s at places like Newberry’s and Woolworths). The more you learn, the more you will be able to identify the difference between vintage and reproduction. There is soooo much reproduction out there (and sometimes like that booth you loved, it doesn’t matter if you love it to decorate!) 🌸
I love my green ceramic Christmas trees my grandmother made for me and mom back in the 70's. My aunt had a ceramic shop and I have so many of the things that were made there. I'm still looking for an affordable vintage white tree but no luck so far. Amazon sells replacement lights, wiring kits and even the red birds. I had mom's tree rewired and replaced her bulbs that were lost. Some of our ceramics are dated on the bottom back to 1959 the year I was born. I really enjoyed your video
I like all the ceramic trees but I do prefer the green ones. I wouldn’t turn a white one down though. 😂 I would love to find some of the putz houses. It would be so cute to have a mid century Christmas village.
Lol...... girlfriend, I've got 85% of these things! I have most of my Parents Christmas stuff. They were born in 1940 & 1945.....and I was born in the late 60's ....we had Most of this stuff in our home for the holidays! I personally love the ceramic trees, I have a few, a white one with lights and a small white ornament one with lights.....I just got a "Gumdrop Tree that is.....a white branch tree that lights up through the gumdrops"? It looks so cool! 😊
Thank you for sharing this list with us! Always good to know what is trending! By the way, the Shiny Brites have the words Shiny Brite written on the silver hanger part of the ornament.😊
I'm vintage so a lot of this looked familiar to me. What I can tell you about the Gurley candles is that they originally came with a tag on the bottom with the word Gurley on it. That being said, it would be a little tougher to find that because it was like a thin cardboard-ish type thing that fell off easily. Not sure about some you seen, could be but the Santa in the bowl thing or whatever really looked like one. Curious to know if you got any of those cool finds? That Shabby table was so so cute & I enjoyed the whole video. The last place you went was such a pretty little setting, very nice, felt like I was right there with you.
LOVED your list the only thing I have on it is a Santa blow mold I inherited from my mother thanks for the list and I will have to google that candle because I have never seen nor heard of one either thanks again
Not to be a downer but we have a shop near us that does ceramics and you buy the blank, paint it yourself and they fire it for you. I go there to get replacement parts for the ones I have. But it was a lovely video. Thanks. Be well
We had the plug-in window candles in the 60s. Love the great finds-thank you! I’m from the vintage era and truly appreciate those things. Dollar(& a quarter) Tree store has a line of dishware that might have been named on one of those mugs you turned upside-down- not complaining-just wanted to let you know since you’re searching vintage specifically. The sugary candle jars from the 70s are special to me, also.
There was so much I wanted to comment on... what was vintage what actually wasnt... the first individually packaged "Shiny Brites" technically are but they are new made by Rauche... the Santa and Mrs S&P with the dates of 40s 50s are actually 70s... the individual candles were most popular in the mid 60s and made into the 70s and then later recreated by Radko... if I could have just commented as it went along... 😅😅 certainly a lot of Christmas treasures...
The white ceramic trees are prettier than the green I think. The colored lights Pop better. 😊 ( I have a small one and a medium size one, the small one is an ornament. The medium one is for a table. It was only $5 at Family Dollar last year, it was the ladt one left, it's switch to shut it off and on is messed up......I just put in the batteries when I wanted it lit up, and took them out when I wanted it shut off. 😏🤷🏻♀️
I have a vintage porcelain Victorian Christmas tree in pink, lace edging, and yes, it lights up. I'm trying to figure out how to clean it up with out damaging the lace so I can sell it.
It definitely is I actually have one that was my grandparents. It is one of my favorite things I have come across in my grandfathers old trunk. I am pretty sure it is from the 50’s or 60’s. There are a 1000 websites that tell you how to identify Shiny Brides and which are most valuable. Also just because something is "old" doesn't mean it's valuable, so don't buy something based solely on it being "old". Lots of luck with your searches, but I'd really suggest you doing a bit of homework before you go out or be ready to "google" while you're looking. Based on my non-expert knowledge I'd say some of those ornaments are probably shiny rites, most are not. Because they stopped production in the '60's it's likely if it's a SB, the colors will be a bit worn and not as BRIGHT as more recently made ornaments. Of course lots of manufacturers have tried to emulate the look of SB. I love almost all things Christmas vintage..except for some of the really tacky stuff that appeared in the 50s and early 60s. Some is alright, some...pretty bad. LOL Oh almost forgot. Gurley was a candle company in Buffalo NY. I loved the little choir singer candles we had when I was growing up. Those Thanksgiving candles of pilgrims were Burley's too. Most aren't super valuable but they are fun. You can check out current market prices (which usually are a range) What IS very collectible are the little elves/gnomes with pine cone bodies.
Sadly, your video is full of misinformation. You clearly do not know how to tell real vintage from repros as most of the things you pointed out were reproductions. You need to get a few books on vintage christmas, esp. Shiny Brites. Real Shiny Brites are CLEARLY marked Shiny Brite on the metal cap. Other manufacturers are also collectible. The Golden Glow of Christmas Past is the major group of Christmas collectors and very knowledgeable. It might "look" old but not be old.
What ARE you SURE OF? ANNOYING you keep admitting you "don't know"! If you are going to put yourself out as Vintage expert. Know your Vintage . Sorry, you are not very informed or interesting.
Hi Donna. I never said I was an expert. I was just looking for vintage Christmas items like a scavenger hunt for fun. I put content out for all kinds of people to enjoy but if you don’t like it, please do everyone a favor and just move on. Merry Christmas!

My pleasure! 💗

We had the electric candles in 1954. Not sure about before.
Others are saying they had them in the 50s too 💗
Great finds👍🏻🌲🎁
Thank you! 🤗
😊 nice shopping, I sure remember the bubble lights
Wow! 😯
My dad was Vice Pres of the brush company that first made the bottle brushes back in 1966 ish
Wowww! That’s the coolest thing I ever heard!! 😮🎄
The Santa mug you found came from the dollar store, Norfolk, they also have snowman mugs!!! No wonder it was $1.00
Not vintage but oh so cute 😊
Shared. Wow! There were some amazing finds, in good condition. Have a great weekend 💛🧡🤎
Thank you! You too! 💗

Hi Stephanie! I’m so happy to have you here. That is an excellent idea about making the popcorn art. Your kind words have made my day! 💗💗💗

I found 2 of those blowmold candles along side the road near a garbage can acouple years ago!!! My husband rewired them, he didnt "trust" them lol ❤
That is awesome! 💗
This was so much fun. Thanks so much.
Yayyy! I’m glad you had fun 😊

The little ceramic tree was NOT a ceramic tree. It was a lighter and set of ashtrays/trays that comes apart.
Had fun. Thsnk you
Yay! Thanks so much for watching 💗
Antique is 100 years or older…less than that, is vintage.
Some say 75
No it's 100 yrs❤
I heard 50 years!🤦🏻

great vid, i especially liked the "twelve days" glass set.
Me too! 💗
Lol, that was a weird santa!!😅

Anything that says "microwave safe" is not vintage...
The 1980s has now been 44 years ago and so is now considered vintage and that would include old microwaves themselves. 😊
The little ceramic green tree is a lighter and ashtrays.
People have been telling me that. That is so neat! 💗
Your ceramic tree is a cigarette lighter ashtray set..I have a set also.most of the time the lighter is missing from the top of the tree
Wow that’s why I’ve never seen one like that before! 💗
I love the shoppin videos! Have you checked out the retro Christmas area at walmart?? Maci LOVES the jukebox and the radio and so do i lol!
Not yet! But I always love that stuff 💗💗💗
Loved this video . Do you have a cat I cam hear it purring ❤❤❤
🐾🐾🐾
The first Santa mug is from Dollar tree
Maybe but when I looked it up the vintage ones are identical. 💗
Shiny brutes have the words printed around the top rim.
Thanks Judy 💗

Wowwww! I would love to see that! 💗
Shiny brites are marked on the hanger shiny Brite
Thanks 😊
Shiny Brite has name on cap
The family had them in the pictures late 50s
I love picturing a real 50s Christmas 💗💗💗
I'm pretty sure the small ceramic tree without lights are ashtrays and a lighter.
Whattt?! That’s so neat!!! 💗💗💗
It definitely is I actually have one that was my grandparents. It is one of my favorite things I have come across in my grandfathers old trunk. I am pretty sure it is from the 50’s or 60’s. I have never personally seen another one in a store and most of them you see online are sold. You should of grabbed that one up! Lol
I am a new subscriber to your channel and really Love all your videos!! Thanks for posting. 🎉😊
Makes me want to go back and see if it’s still there! Thanks so much for subscribing 💗💗💗
Shiny Brite will have their information at the very top of the ornament. It will say, shiny bright.
Thanks for the tip! 💗
It s a gum drop tree not old but fun just the same !
Oooo I love the sound of that! A gum drop tree 💗
Royal Norfolk is sold at dollar tree. How can you tell the santa mug is vintage or not?
I looked it up when I was in the store 😉
What town was the warehouse mall in please
Hi Penny! It’s in Marion, IL. And it’s my favorite antique store. 😊
Royal Norfolk is a Dollar Tree brand. NOT a bargain for the Santa mug!
Lots of other nice finds though!
Where are these stores located?
Marion, IL
That $1.50 Santa mug that says Royal Norfolk is a Dollar Tree item, I believe. It is a reproduction.
Be nice if you can tell the price
The shiny, threaded ornaments are from the 70s
I was kind of thinking so 💗
Twiggy vintage tree is current.
Yeah I thought so. 😊
The candles you found were definitely not Gurley candles.
"NOEL" is the French spelling of the word; in English it is spelled "NOWELL". It is rare to find a decorative item with the English spelling but there must be SOME out there!
Wow that’s interesting 💗
I thought the Noel sign is pasta art??
Well I never knew what they were really called but the tag on that one said popcorn art. 💗
the small tree would never be lit because it is a set of ashtrays and lighter. The top is the lighter.
I’ve been hearing that and it’s so neat! 💗
That is a LUSTERWARE egg nog bowl and cups, NOT carnival ware
Thanks. Good to know 😊
