- Symptoms of a defective Transfer Roller are: - Squealing or screeching noises - Frequent paper jams - Light print -
- Streaks or spots on the rear side of the paper -
The trasfer roller is a spongy roller responsible for pulling toner from the OPC drum and onto the paper.
If your printer is malfunctioning, you may be able to save money by troubleshooting the problem yourself instead of calling a technician. Many common problems are the result of a simple issue, such as improper positioning or dirt on the surface of the roller.
Clean the transfer roller whenever you change the toner cartridge, to keep used toner from building up and clogging the print mechanism.

Are the lines always at the same distance? which distance?
@@viandant5 Yes, Approximately 2.5 inches apart horizontally. I removed the Magenta and ran another cartridge and it worked fine. The problem is that cartridge is almost full of toner. I've adjusted the Doctor Blade several times.
@@dianehouseman2056 2.5 inches is the diameter of the toner roller. may be it's defective or dirty

I went to print out some business cards on my xerox phaser 6022 and it did a horrible job. First time after many uses. How do I clean the sticky stuck ink off the rollers? I tried the stick another piece of paper in and it jammed immediately. Plus, if I don't have any lint free clothes, are alcohol pads ok?
You mean there is paper stuck in the transfer roller? However you cam use a normal cotton cloth. It would be better not to use alcohol
Any idea how to get the transfer roller out of the transfer assembly on a Ricoh MP C5502 without breaking it? The service guide doesn't say...

I have an HP Laserjet 451 and was told to clean the Doctor Plate with instructions due to getting streaks in the Magenta color. We did that and now I am getting Magenta all over the page. Any suggestions as to what I should do? Thanks for your help.
The doctor blade must be adjusted, set it downward so there is less toner on the roller surface

Did you check the toner cartridge? Is the toner evenly distribuited on the toner roller?

it could be the developer roller into the toner hopper, or the blade, or the toner too old

if there is no paper in the fuser unit, may be a paper sensor near the fuser unit is broken or out of position

I am having a gray haze problem. I think the toner cartridge I used was not compatible, now I am trying to clean the roller but it feels like there is no end to it. The more I clean it the more I can. I have been trying to it with napkins and cotton bud. It gets worse after the printer gets warmer. How long am I supposed to clean it for? Should I use water?
you can use a cloth lightly dampened with water but you do not need to clean it perfectly. compressed air is the best. however maybe the roller is worn out

I never change this fuser, sorry I can't help you that much. The manual says reset the printer by turning it off and on again. and if the message still appears update the firmware. I hope it helps

without checking the printer it's impossible to say but probably the problem is the toner cartridge, or the fusers

Good morning. I have a laserjet 4050tn and have a long light black streak up the whole middle of the paper. I cleaned the roller as this video showed and it was fine for a short time but now has returned. Is the roller the issue or can low toner create the problem?

Check if the drum turns freely, check if there are foreign objects somewhere near the drum, check if the transfer roller is in the correct position

In ML 1610 the print quality is light. I had refilled the cartridge and cleaned the transfer roller also, but same print only little improved. and while starting it gives red light error. After 10 to 15 restart it start operating. I am unable to understand the problem. Please help me
There is a fuser in that cartridge, to reset the error you have to change it. then the light print could depend on the toner cartridge

I have brother HL 5450DN. I have cleaned inside my printer, changed drum and toner and it is still printing smudge. What could be the problem? How do you also take out the transfer roller out of the drum?

I think the problem could be the fuser unit. You can remove the transfer roller disassembling the drum unit but if you already changed the drum unit I think it's not the problem

For what I know there is no way to reset the chip. you have to change it, it costs some dollars

may be you are trying to print a document with unsupported symbols or characters. If you have the problem only with a PDF document try to print it as image

I have an hp colorlaserjet pro mfp m182n. I have a dot on my drum of cyan cartridge, which comes over page 4times. But after many prints I see a cyan line developing on the page so position of dot. Why does this line develops? Any solution?
The PCR charge roller discharge the electricity on the drum surface through the dot. In that zone the Aluminium substrate of the drum is not covered with the coating

@@ercouldnt whar is exact 2 fingers? It could be the circunference of the toner roller or the charge roller. Is there a defect on the drum where the black dot is?
@@viandant5 it is about 2 santimeter from dot to dot vertically. so there is 11 dots vertically and 6 horizontally per line. i can send you a picture of it sir if you want. by the way when i have cleaned the drum, i couldnt see any damage on it but tomorrow i will look at it more carefully.

Hello. I have an hp color laserjet printer mfp m182n. I have refilled all the four toner cartridges. The printer is working fine. There is just one problem that when I print an image in grayscale the printer prints that image in yellowish black not completely black. Why does this yellowish tone develops even though I print in grayscale?

The grey scale are printed using the colors, not the black. May be the yellow cartridge is defective, or cyan and magenta are low

@@viandant5 I don't see that my cyan, magenta or black cartridges are low. Yellow cartridges does not seems to be defective since color prints seems good.
If there is any problem despite of these facts in yellow cartridges, what can that be. Kindly tell solution? And predict what defect can be in yellow cartridge.
@@hathakker802 Try to adjust the doctor blade of the Yellow cartridge so it prints lighter
@@viandant5 actually while refilling I had never disassembled the doctor blade and it's on the original position as it was when I bought it new. And also for other 3 cartridges I had never moved their doctor blades from their original position.
So why does this situation arise that the doctor blade need to be adjusted?

There are very few spare parts for transfer units. try delavamp or uninet imaging

It depends on which printer do you have. may be USB connection or wifi connection
"Repating spots at the same distance of circumference of the transfer roller also indicate a defective roller." is wrong. Maybe at the circumference of the drum...
