Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, we don’t know the reasons, but apparently it was easier for our mechanic to make a replacement. Best Regards, Autodoc team.

Do you really need to take off the full plastic under cover? Isn't there a smaller inspection cover to take off instead of the full large one to drain the oil?
Thank you for your comment. This information will be very useful to our viewers. You're quite right through the lid easier. But when changing the oil, it is better to look at the condition of the engine. Therefore, we removed the cover.
@autodoc then write that in the video so we all understand why. Also, you don't mention the application of a little oil in the o'ring to help it seat without tearing. So this video is all wrong apart from telling me what tools I need, even that is incomplete as it doesn't mention the need for rags...
Unfortunately, we do not have a video on replacing the small filter, please stay tuned, with us and perhaps such a video will appear on our channel. AUTODOC
There are different ways to change the oil, there is a way to pump out the engine oil through the dipstick for measuring the engine oil level. But in this case, the oil will remain in the system and the dirtiest oil from the pan with heavy impurities will not be drained. It is also possible in the most severe cases to find something that could have unscrewed or broken off inside the engine. And this way you can protect yourself from even greater expenses during repairs. Since you were able to see the problem at an early stage.

⚠ Attention! This video contains a mistake:
3:05 - the tightening torque is 25 Nm, not 30 Nm.
We're sorry for the inconvenience.
why remove the entire splash guard when you could just use the smaller hatch directly underneath the oil nut? Just wondering?

He's stupid.
Because more man-hour work = more money from the client.
Because some models do t have the small hatch.. LCI doesn’t.. I have one and do the same as this video.. smart arse.
@@overlord7512 except that on this model the hatch can clearly be seen...................

You don't need to lift the car and get underneath it if you get a fuel pump,
Pump the fuel out from the dip stick

hi, i have followed your video exactly, now when i accelerate forward there is a rattling sound what could it be.
Check the outboard bearing and propeller shaft damper pads.
Perhaps they are out of order.

this particular engine (bmw M47) takes 5.5L if you change the oil filter (which you always should anyways)
You dont need to remove the under tray, there is an Inspection hatch under the sump plug. Haha
Thank you for sharing your experience, it will be very useful information for us and our viewers.
