The wolf and lamb at the end are Kindred is the "God of Death" such a cool concept from a story telling and visually captivating. Very different from the badass red guy Aatrox at the beginning but you'd be surprised how much story he comes with too. League has great creators and a lot of time into the stories fleshed out. Soooo much cool story behind the second cinematic!!! And yes, the lore video Necrit has (I think he has 2 videos) they are a must.

"Still Here" is very lore heavy. It is basically about Death with a capital D. Death is the lamb and wolf pair in the end, lamb is the bow user and wolf is obviously wolf, they are named Kindred.
Their duo portrays the duality of death, wolf is the violent death, struggle trying to escape it, while lamb is the peacful, quick end of acceptance.
The first fight is the past. Kayle (white angle) and Morgana (black angle) they were the aspects of justice There is more to unpack here but not enough text area for the relationship between the 2. They are fighting against the Darkin (god warrior corrupted) Aatrox, the being is the sword that took over a mortal body and reshaped it with bloody magic, hence the synergy with sword heart. Morgana sacrifices part of her power to restrain him so Kayle finishes it. Lamb appears in the flames when they consume Aatrox, you see Lamb cause wolf is consuming the host in the form of flames (Aatrox does not die only the host) and oviously a violent death, cause blood magic kept the host alive forcefully.
Second is the future. Old Yasuo, he saves a village from most likely raiders who either appaer due to an other Noxus invasion or just bad guys I am not sure about that part. It is pretty straightforward from there, he saves the woman and the baby and finishes the ppl there but they send a lot of arrows his way, he knows he is finished and accepts death. You see wolf in the tree line. He accepts death so Lamb's arrow finishes him.
The final is basically the present. It is Tryndamere fighting. In short, they are in tribal war. In the begining you see soldiers encircling him, then we get to see him fight Kindred. The second part is basically all in his head. His rage and innate blood magic basically keeps him alive on deaths door. Kindred tries to end him as obviously he should be dead, but because of said powers he can fight back. Kindred is neutral tho so when his wife, Ashe appears saving him Kindred leaves him as from that point onward he is no longer on deaths door. Kindrad can't take his life.

Very quick summery of the "Still Here" cinematic:
1st fight - Takes place in the past, depicts the winged twin sisters Kayle and Morgana defending Demacia from an invasion led by Aatrox (a corrupted god-warrior known as a Darkin).
2nd fight - Takes place in the future, depicts a very old version of Yasuo protecting a village (without killing anyone), and ultimately letting himself die in the end. This is presumably a "vision" being given to present Yasuo.
3rd fight - Takes place in the present-ish, depicts the barbarian leader Tryndamere defending himself from Kindred (she's essentially the grim reaper, a metaphor for death). In reality, he was actually fighting off soldiers, and he was fatally wounded (hence why Kindred is trying to claim him), however he is "cursed" with the ability to heal fatal wounds, making him undying. The woman archer in the end is his spouse, Ashe, the War Mother.
Some stuff you can read into that are very related to this cinematic:
    - Darkin (what Aatrox is, will explain why his sword has a pulse)
    - The relationship between Kayle and Morgana (will involve Aatrox)
    - The relationship between Tryndamere and Ashe (will involve Aatrox)
    - Kindred
Another content creator known as "Necrit" also makes videos explaining all of the lore, and what's going on in cinematics like these. He's a good source for learning about League's universe, and his videos aren't too long (so they won't be like a 20 part Warhammer series, just quick explanations of lore).

while "A new Dawn" is really just a show of of the characters and their abilities- simulating the usual 5vs5 game, "Still here" is very lore accurate and honestly, without knowing that, you miss half the good implications and art/cinematic choices here - everything is placed for a reason there and it is just fantastic. League has a pattern where it takes 3 events into one cinematic to tell the story. In this case they went even further in artistic choice - the overall topic is "still here - prevailing against death (=lamb and wolf, which you can spot in all three events!)". The first setting is the past, the second with yasuo is a possible future and the third is the present with Ashe rescuing her husband Tryndamere from the wintersclaw tribe (when she rescues him, kindred(lamb and wolf), the concept of death, vanishes since his life is not in danger anymore. I highly recommend to watch the lore explaining video on this cinematic. I love all the expressions alone that convey so much already - especially at the end and of course we see a lot of abilities here too - everything avcoding to the ingame mechanics :) I think Necrit explains them as well.

  • @Twitch2099
    @Twitch2099 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Ok, so for the "Still Here" cinematic, the whole thing centers around a being called "Kindred" who is the personification of death in the League of Legends universe (like the grim reaper). It's a dual being. The "Lamb" and the "Wolf". When they come for you, you either accept the Lamb's arrow and get a peaceful death, or you rage against it and die a nasty / violent death from the wolf.
With that in mind, the first sequence in the cinematic is Morgana (More-Gah-Nuh) and Kayle (like the green leafy shit Kale), twin sisters whose mother was the Aspect of Justice, and gave them each half of her sword to fight the Darken (kinda like a demons). This particular one they fight is named Aatrox (Eh-Trocks). His sword pulses like that because where the Darken actually resides is within the sword, and when someone picks up the sword, they are corrupted into the thing we see the sisters fighting. In the game we always see Morgana and Kayle how they are now, whereas this video is them way in the past before the both accepted who they really are. Morgana accepts the "darkness" (for lack of a better explanation) of humanity and Kayle becomes the new Aspect of Justice forsaking all humanity within her entirely and becoming very cold and inhuman. That's why you see her smirk / give Morgana a condescending look as she walks by. She's disgusted with "what she's becoming". You'll also notice that neither the lamb or wolf are present in this fight because even though the body Aatrox corrupted died in the fire, Aatrox himself doesn't die, because he's inside the sword, which is indestructible, hence, he's immortal.
For the second sequence, the character's name is Yasuo (Ya-Sue-Oh). He's a very popular character who actually has his own mini movie that they made about him that's fucking beautiful, but the gist is he's like a samurai who's spent his whole life fighting and has special wind powers which are so unique that at one point in his life he was framed for killing his master because someone used something that made it look like he did it, and was chased down by his brother and they fought and he ended up killing his brother in self defense. Anyway, this sequence is a vision given to him of one of his possible futures. In this particular one, he's given up on his path and stopped using his wind powers entirely at first, and eventually realizes he *needs* them if he wants to be able to save these people, so he starts using them again, but you'll notice there's no blood anywhere, and that's because he refuses to actually kill anymore, and so instead he uses the wind to knock people out, not kill them. Then at the end, he sees a literal *wall* of arrows coming at him, and decides that he's saved all the people in the village, so he's no longer needed, and closes his eyes, apparently accepting his death, but they've purposely left it open, because that's what Yasuo often does. He closes his eyes to center himself before he acts (like earlier in the cinematic where he split the arrow in half), so it could be he's accepting his death, and that white arrow represents the Lamb's sweet release of death, or if you look closely you'll also notice that in the background the Wolf lurks, waiting for Yasuo to try to resist, so it can attack him and "take his life" violently.
Then in the last sequence, the guy with the big sword is Tryndamere (Trin-Duh-Meer) and his special power is that he has a supernatural rage that is so powerful, he literally can't die, no matter what (for a short amount of time), and so you see him fighting the Wolf, but the cool thing is that he isn't really fighting the Wolf or the Lamb, he's *actually* fighting all the people that surrounded him in the very beginning of the video, it's just that we're seeing the fight *conceptually* as him "fighting off death" (AKA the Lamb and the Wolf) and at first the Lamb is confused because who is this man that isn't dying when they come to claim him and accepts neither the sweet release of death nor dies to the violence of the wolf? Nobody has ever done that before, and all of a sudden the Lamb lowers their bow because they realize it isn't his time to die. His wife Ashe (Ash) has come to save his life and fight by his side, and as she arrives, we fade back to reality as his rage dissipates (we see this physically as his eyes go from red, back to their normal color), because this woman he initially married for political reasons but then ended up falling in love with for real has come to save his life and fight by his side. She is the literal definition of a true ride or die and it's just......*chef's kiss*

You should watch that lore video for still here because I honestly think that cinematic really shows different parts of league lore that if you play league casually you will never get because you have to go out of your way to read about it.
But if you don't wanna watch it here is a really quick version.
That sword pulse guy scene is in the past and he is literally corrupted godslayer that is bound to the sword and his body is just someone possessed by him. The old samurai guy scene is literally future (of possibly his last fight before dying) of one of the characters that has his own cinematic explaining a bit about him and his past.
The wolf and a lamb with a bow characters are literally the grim reaper and a guy fighting them has in-game ability to be too angry to die so that entire fight is just a metaphor for him refusing to die. And the woman that saves him at the end is his wife and one of the warmothers of the northern tribes.

The sheep leads those who accept death and the wolf hunts those who try to escape. It's like a regional legend.
This fight references Tryndamere ultmate in the game that leaves him immortal for a few seconds. In the end, the woman who arrives (Ashe) and saves his life is his wife.

The whole theme is "StillHere", referencing Kindred who is DeathIncarnate. Whether it's the Past (Morgana &Kayle), Present (Tryndamere), and Future (OldMan Yasuo). Death is "Still Here" no matter whattime it is. You can see Kindred in the Fires of thePast destroying Aatrox, Facing Tryndamere, andShooting a Fatal Arrow at Old Man Yasuo in thehead.

    1. Pretty much everything you see, you can do in the game as you play them, there is major difference in execution and appearance but they are using their actual abilities. Ie. You can shield yourself as Leona (Shield girl) and promptly die to a Darius ultimate because his ultimate does damage that goes through the shield. You can have vines ensnare your enemies and summon plants to block skillshots (abilities that require aim), however Ahris (foxgirl) main ability, the one she killed Zyra (plant girl) with goes through all targets hit, so effectively useless.
    2. The reason Ahri giggled, is that was them trying to demonstrate her ability to charm her opponents (she's a kitsune, seduction, steal life essence), that's why her eyes glowed pink too. Now it functions different in game but that's the whole shtick.
    3. 7:00 It's an anchor, he's not a shipcaptain, but he does enforce a toll on ship captains to not be destroyed in his waters.
    4. 11:55 The Sword is alive and is the real figure wielding the flesh, which is why the sword has a pulse, Aatrox (Demon man) is a Darkin and they are twisted Godlike beings who were banished into their weapons, his body is a body he possessed and then took his true form.
    5. 16:20 That's his wife
    6. Don't play League of Legends, it's highly competitive, with a toxic community, but also addicting. Bad batch

Some of the things shown in this video are clear references to character's abilities, some characters were updated in the years afterward, some abilities are a more "realistic" version of how an ability would work in-game, and some could arguably be a couple abilities (I will not take Riot's word as gospel). Here are roughly the things from these cinematics that you can do in-game.
    _______________________
*A New Dawn* - A cinematic showing what a teamfight in the map's jungle would look like in-universe, with the ending showing the survivors going towards the enemy base to destroy their Nexus and win the game.
2:51 Katarina does throw blades and leave them around the battlefield
3:17 Darius does swing his axe wildly in an arc/circle
3:28 Darius does jump up before landing his finishing blow (and his attack do cause enemies to bleed even if they don't kill)
3:32 Leona is able to imbue herself with magic to bolster her defenses
3:52 Ahri can charm enemies to lure them towards her (and away from Leona in this cinematic)
4:04 and 4:21 Draven's spinning axes are projectiles that deal huge damage
4:07 Zyra can snare enemies with roots
4:22 Graves can shoot a smokescreen to obscure enemy vision
4:35 Rengar can leap to distant enemies
4:38 Rengar can carve enemies and leave you feeling like there was nothing you could do
4:40 Graves can shoot his gun (insightful, I know)
4:51 Jax can empower his attacks via the flame he wields in his lamppost
4:55 Jax can shrug off enemy attacks
    4:57 Darius can pull enemies
5:06 Zyra can miss with her root attack
5:12 Ahri can throw a rebounding ball of magic that pierces everything
5:15 Zyra can summon plants that block non-piercing projectiles
6:33 Katarina can use magic to instantaneously travel short distances to give herself an advantage
6:47 Nautilus can throw and pull back his anchor (he's a living deep sea diving suit)
7:07 Nautilus can cause shockwaves with a stomp
7:30 Nautilus can swing his anchor
7:54 [Daily Double] Nautilus can throw his anchor towards terrain to escape, and he can generate a magic shield
8:51 Leona can summon a beam of sunlight to stop enemy movement and damage them
9:05 Rengar can go invisible and sneak up on enemies
9:16 She can dash and throw magic bursts at nearby enemies
    ___________________________
*Still Here* - A cinematic showing the past, present, and (possible) future of 3 groups of playable characters.
11:16 Kayle can slap people with her sword
13:04 Morgana can channel magic chains to impair enemy movement and damage them
13:16 Kayle can ascend over the course of a game (and she dual-wields)
13:20 Kayle can send damaging waves at enemies by swinging her swords
14:10 Yasuo can create a windwall to block projectiles
14:19 Yasuo can slap people with wind via dashing by them
14:30 Yasuo can throw tornadoes from his sword
14:35 Yasuo can intentionally die to the enemy team
14:37 Ashe can scout by shooting a "hawkshot" from her bow (seen better at 15:58)
14:51 Kindred (both the Lamb and Wolf) can create an ominous zone where her wolf can dematerialize and rematerialize to attack enemies independently
    14:55 Kindred can shoot arrows
15:17 Tryndamere is, "local man too angry to die"
15:18 Tryndamere can do a spinning slash to get closer to his target
    15:23 Kindred can leap
15:36 Ashe can shoot a volley of arrows to hit multiple targets simultaneously

I'm Still Here can also refer to the Kindred
The Lamb Archer and Wolf, collectively known as Kindred, are the personification of Death
    Basically the League Grim Reaper.
For those that accept their death Lamb's arrow grants them swift release
For those that fight their fate Wolf chases and tears them apart.
Each scene is a different place in time.
The two angels (Kayle and Morgana) are fighting in the past. You can see Kindred in the flames of their sword. The demon literally cannot die and seeks to destroy all existence to erase his misery.
The samurai (Yasuo) is a potential future. His country descending into war and banditry. You can see wolf's eyes shining in the trees before he accepts his death and lamb's arrow finds him.
The barbarian (tryndamere) is "cursed" with a rage fueled magic that prevents his death. That is the glowing eyes and why he is directly fighting the grim reaper. I think he is still fighting the soldiers from the beginning. The scene we see is the blood magic duel against the grim reaper happening during his rage.
So throughout all of time Kindred (Death) is still here. Always present and the choice is yours whether you choose the lamb or the wolf.

Indded it is something u can do in the game as Darius, it is his ultimate ability Noxian Guiltine, an Execution move that deasl terrible high amount of damage. :D And to answer ur second question, basicly everything u can see is doable. What they do is representing their abilitys in the game and if u re familair u recognize them. As example when Ahri (Foxgirl) hurls the ball at Zyra (Plant girl) Zyra trys to protect herself with plants she can grow, but as in the game that dont works cause the ball passes through everything and still deals dmg, and she gets basicly doubletapped cause the ball returns and deals even more dmg. The smoke bomb u saw belongs to the guy with the gun, when the Lion leaps at the other guy and...u know...thats his ability he can use from bushes in the game. Even the pink eyes of Ahri where an ability to charm Draven and Darius. She saw the Leona(golden girl) was alive and tried protecting her by luring them away. It just goes on and on.
In the new dawn cinematic there is no good or bad guys, its a depiction of a normal League game, 5vs5 all game roles represented there and a shitload of character abilitys and how a crazy teamfight can look like. Still, lore wise we have a lot of bad guys, good guys are kinda rare in the lore because, u know, humans suck, demi humans too, and stuff. :D
Sweety, when u think that the design in still here is creative and stuff, trust me u have no idea. I recomendt u should watch the lore explanation video from Necrit to "still here" and that will blow your mind. He explains it in a great way so that u can follow even when u dont know much about the actual lore of the characters. U should watch it. I like ur reaction, as usual to be hoenst hehe. Let me tell u something, u missed (Not your fault though haha) so much in the cinematic and Necrit will point it out for you.

As some people have said the skills used in A New Dawn are in the game. also when Ahri (the tailed girl) "giggled", you'll notice the pink mist around her. That's her in game skill Charm which forces opposing champs to come to her. Also if you want lore Necrit does a lot of league lore on youtube.

  • @viziontrex
    @viziontrex 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    5:25
Although the video is CGI and not super representative of game flow, it does highlight many of the character's in-game abilities. Ahri does have a magic missile that reaches a certain distance and returns. Graves, the shotgun guy, does have a smoke canister that blinds people within it. Katarina, the red-haired lady can blink in and out of areas and serves as a high-risk high-reward archetype and Leona, the lady with the big shield, does have a sun beam that stuns enemies in place. It's a bit of a product of it's time, but it's one of Riot's best trailers in a way that highlights in-game abilities.

  • @codypeterson847
    @codypeterson847 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

It’s an amazing trailer but to those who are into the lore it is beyond satisfying. The whole theme is past future and present. And the lamb and wolf at the end are the version of the death reaper. The wolf is there for any who fight against death while the lamb watches and vice versa for those who accept death. If you pay attention during the first scene it’s the past and founding of Demacia and the first attempt by aatriox to throw down the nation. If you watch during the flames scene you can see the lamb posing watching in the fire watching as he fights against his death. The second scene with yasuo is in the future after he leaves and wanders. He knew about this possibility of the future and accepts what is to come. If you can pay attention he uses the wind to actually knock everyone out he kills know one while he tries righting the wrongs of his life and at the end the final arrow you can see the wolf watching in the shadow of the mountain and trees. The final scene is what ties it all together. Tryndamere was a chieftain and his tribe was attacked by aatriox. He was left alive and cursed with an undying curse. So everytime he nears death to him and his point of view he fights both wolf and lamb because he at points has accepted death during his battle with aatriox but also can’t die due to his curse. The whole fight was an illusion and was only shattered by Ashe saving him thus rendering the fight against the reaper irrelevant.

When you ask "how much of this can you actually do in game" most all of their actions in that one are "cinematic" versions of what you do in game. The game itself is more top down less movie setting so they just took the abilities and functions and made them into a movie!

  • @Shiftry87
    @Shiftry87 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

If that Lore explained video u mentioned is the one from Necrit then 1000% yes. The "still here" cinematic is a huge lore dump.
Hannah if u have a min or so then pause this video at 14:33 and se if u notice something "scary looking" on the screen that i think u missed. U can se it again at 14:35 and no its not the arrows.
Pretty mutch everything that looks abit special in Riots cinematics are based on abilitys the character can use in-game. Like for example Ahri (fox girl) shooting out that green orb she has or the 3 dashes she does at the end of the first cinematic are all abilitys she has in-game so yes they are showing character abilitys mutch more often then u might expect. Leona the heavy armor shield user is a support based character that is extremely tanky and her kit is loaded with 3 crowd control abilitys (CC) and 1 heavy dmg reduction ability and we se 2 of them used. First right away we se Ahri getting pushed aside and Leona taking the hit instead as she actives Eclipse (shiny shield) to boost her def stats and she barely survives it. Its not impossable to kill her through that boost but its very hard to do as her Armor and Magic resist stats skyrocket. The next is at the end her ultimate ability (Solar Flare) shoots out of the sky to stun/stagger Darius. Some can be hard to se but most of them if they look abit special are abilitys from the game and Riot does this in pretty mutch every video they release.

  • @BrntOut
    @BrntOut 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Just found your account and wanted to give a lil lore dump regarding the Still Here video from my vague knowledge to try spark some interest in it for ya or others.
Edit: Just saw the lat tid bit about if you should watch the explanation, so uh... read further with caution,
    - First scene is a battle between Morgana & Kayle vs Aatrox, the big guy, was a nice detail to catch on his .. weapon, beating like a heart. As well, that is basically him. What is called a darkin, a group of warriors that were corrupted from war with the void (whole other can of worms) thus seeled in their weapons after madness. His being a greatsword, he IS the sword, using hosts that wield the weapon to take over as every darkin does or well tries in kayn's case.
    - Second scene is Yasuo, a man who killed his brother whilst on the run for a crime. This brother came back as a demon, who I think forgave him, but cannot forgive himself. In-game he is far younger, so it's a little glimpse into a basically what-if or canon future of him coming to terms with finally setting things down (Idk up for interpretation) The final arrow, the one that shines and cuts through the middle is a point to take note of.
    - Final scene is probably the biggest part of it for people, shows Tryndamere, a character who in games has an ability to become invulnerable near death and cheat it for several seconds for as long as he keeps fighting (I think) after surviving his tribe being slaughtered by Aatrox. After which gave him a partial power of the darkin, the whole healing and surviving death I believe. The battle we see is the one he sees, yet isn't the one actually happening. He is on the verge of death after a fight with a group of other warriors (we see afterward all laid on the ground), and in his eyes what comes to meet him is death, the wolf and white lamb (kindred their name is). They are, death. Showing the vicious and peaceful side to death, only those that die able to see. Going back to the end of the second scene, the lamb's arrows are the same to the ones there, death took Yasuo at the end and death's arrows are trying to do the same to a man that is fighting death. In the end though, he fights the duo off long enough to be saved by Ashe, his partner, and the pair fades away unable to be seen by her since she wasn't the one dying. He was fighting off the group of warriors the entire time, the swings to hit arrows and block the wolf were really against the warriors that attacked him. Fun little note, you can see after he smashes the lamb's bow, her confusion at someone able to fight back against her, against death.
The universe of League of Legends is great and I hope you find it just as great, the game though.... No comment.
