Hello everyone, After some thorough testing, Jim (@hellomynameisjim - founder of scalability.ini) identified the culprit behind the issue. It turns out to be related to 'foliage.DiscardDataOnLoad'. In addition, Jim further optimized the configuration while ensuring there would be no crashes. I’ve already updated the Pastebin with the latest changes, so please give it another try! For those reporting bans, please note that these were not caused by the optimization. The bans occurred because of crashes and mid-game disconnects. This is similar to what happens in games like Apex Legends, Valorant, Fortnite or Tekken-if you crash mid-match, you get penalized. Thank you all for your support! If you experience another crash, please be specific in your report. Include details such as: - The game mode - Your PC specs - Windows version - The map you were on - Whether the crash occurred in ranked or casual matches Lastly, for anyone looking for an additional performance boost, I’ve also created another optimization video. Unlike this one, it focuses on mods rather than configs. I noticed in the comment section of my previous video that some people are experiencing their render scaling settings being reset, which causes stuttering after applying the mod optimization. I released this video because it’s very similar to the first optimization guides and focuses on configuration tweaks. My goal with this video is to help those who didn’t have success with the mods to play the game smoothly. Since the game runs on Unreal Engine 5-a notoriously unoptimized and buggy engine-it can be challenging to achieve good performance.
To determine which of the AA/Scaling options gives you the least amount of input latency, download a tool called nvidia frameview (works on amd and intel too). Launch it prior to launching the game and it'll show you PCL (PC Latency) along with other stats so you can actually determine which of the AA methods is the least input lag for you. On my PC for example FSR Balanced seems to be giving the least latency.
The difference in latency between the 3 top upscalers is negligible. In image quality and ghosting/smearing in motion (latter being the last thing you want in a multiplayer shooter), FSR is comfortably the worst in every comparison that's on TH-cam lmao. Use XESS if you have AMD gpu.
@@chy.0190 Sure, I agree that it's negligible but if it's pure latency you're looking for then it might be worth it to test for yourself which gives you the best latency on your machine. For me that just happens to be FSR and I guess I'm just fine with the smearing.
@@chy.0190 Yeah after doing some more testing the differences are negligible. I'll test out a bit more and see which is visually more appealing, after all - that is more subjective than anything. I'll play around with XeSS since I got higher 1% lows lmao.

Now when i get into a bigger fight my fps goes down to 70-80, which i know is fully playable but I'm used to high fps on a high refresh rate monitor. My specs are Intel i5-10400f, RTX2060 6GB VRAM, 16 GB DDR4 RAM and a 500GB SSD where the game is installed. Its suppose to improve it when you didn't have any optimizations on. This is just an alternative for those who didn't want to use mods.
If you think 80% of their player base use config files I dont know what to tell you 😂🤣
guess I exaggerated a little bit lol
crashing happens alot on tchalla, the file is really helpful tho, improves my fps by alot, hope yall get a fix out soon!
Fixed! Simply remove the _"foliage.DiscardDataOnLoad=1"_ line from your config file to stop the crashing! 🙂
Jim was able to find a fix for it!!!
Thank you, im from Argentina and here its hard to buy the components. And live xd. This help on my pc by the way. Fx 8350 - 12 ram - 1060 3gb vram. Ssd. Its playable but meh... its something at least
woah, that’s the classic cpu FX8350, it might be time to at least get a ryzen 1600x, 2600 or 3600x :)) Glad to be of help thoo
good tuto but first ranked game found and my game crashed 15 min ban lol its working in training mode
hey! this is now fixed, I updated the pastebin please do try once more. Replace everything on your scalability with the whole pastebin.
it crashes the game in competitive this is the worst video ever as you will not be able to play comp with this config modifications.
This is now fixed. Simply remove the _"foliage.DiscardDataOnLoad=1"_ line from your config file to stop the crashing, or wait for UnfilteredByts to update the Pastebin file 🙂
hey what's up; it ain't really the worst if its fixed! Jim was able to find a way ;)
works for me ty. but the game look actual dog crap 😆
edit: oops nevermind, it crashes my game. it works on practice mode tho
have u tried restarting steam after clearing local configuration? I’ve played 2 games for this tutorial and I didn’t crash.
@@UnfilteredByts only the map "Intergalactic Empire Of Wakanda: Hall Of Djalia" works for me
@@bonbon2545 Do you still have the .PAK file active in your `mods` folder? Current theory is that there may be a conflict between the two methods that may be causing crashes. I'm testing it in a bit, but double check you do not have any .PAK files still installed.
@hellomynameisjim nope, i played for 1hr not getting crashed, but suddenly crashed again lol
@hellomynameisjim the map is klyntar convergence
looks good but for me i had 3 crashes on some maps
Hi try it again, I updated the pastebin replace everything on your scalability with the new pastebin commands. Jim was able to fix it
@UnfilteredByts i did see a comment earlier with someone saying to remove a few things and it works fine since i did that
@@hone-pq7pp That's nice! Although we removed a lot more stuff and added few commands on the refreshed pastebin but if that already works well for you keep it :D
I wouldn't say cs is easy to run but it is easier than marvel rivals
way easier! csgo was so much easier, cs2 is also way easier. Hitting lots of frames without any type of config haha!
how do i reset my marvel game files to default, meaning removing all the configs that i made
nvm i commented before watching
W video
W for you, please try the pastebin again, there were a lot of comments saying they crashed and Jim found the fix for it. I have updated the pastebin now.
I don't need an FPS boost, I get 240-300fps already. I just want to get rid of the random stuttering, and the FPS drops when Dr Strange does his BS
exact same for me
When Dr. Strange's portal is on the screen, FPS drops are primarily caused by the *Anti-Aliasing & Super Resolution* settings. Try loading into the Practice Range as Dr. Strange and playing with your AA settings, and see if changing it fixes your issue.
@@hellomynameisjim I've tried all of them, it doesn't change anything. Only thing that's helped is enabling resizable bar
This optimization does not work, it makes me vote you out of the game, I'll stick with the previous video.
Did you remove the mods before performing the optimization in this video?
@@UnfilteredByts I already know what the problem is, since you don't limit the fps the GPU is at 100% and that makes you leave the game, it's not the optimization.
@@UnfilteredByts I activated vsync and the game did not close again. The bad thing is that I can only play at 60 FPS.
Take this down before you get more people banned
Who's getting banned? 🤔
People didn't get banned due to the optimization, they got banned due to them crashing. Gladly the crashing has been fixed now, so you can try again :) [I updated the pastebin]
My game crashed , dont do this lol
To fix, remove the _"foliage.DiscardDataOnLoad=1"_ line from your config file to stop the crashing, or wait for UnfilteredByts to update the Pastebin file 🙂
Jim was able to find the culprit in the code; try again :)
crashed and demoted thx 💩

Hello everyone, we do hear all the crashing on comp or casuals in this comment section. So far I personally was able to load up a total of 4 games 3(casuals) 1(comp) and I haven't crashed. Jim (the scalability founder - @hellomynameisjim) will also run some test when he does get some free time. We'll try our best to find the culprit but for now please stay still, as we also have life and job priorities and we're just tryna help the community to make this game (that is actually kind of fun) playable for everyone!
For the mean time if you haven't checked yet; I also made another optimization video but instead of configs it uses mods. th-cam.com/video/sZtBvQCKwys/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KQJ79lRrmvBEjVcD
i tried erasing all the foliages, like:
foliage.CullAll=1
foliage.DensityScale=0
foliage.DiscardDataOnLoad=1
foliage.LODDistanceScale=0.01
and it works just fine, that happens in tchalla, djalla, yssgard and the palace, i think
but deleting that scripts in the pastebin works fine
ok thanks, do you know what lines i can use just to get rid of the mouse accel and smoothing?
@@maakooo The _"foliage.DiscardDataOnLoad=1"_ line causes crashes upon loading certain maps. Simply delete this line from the config, and the crashes will cease.
The Pastebin will be updated when UnfilteredByts wakes up.
@@RILOVINCO There are already lines in the config that are disabling these features, but you may want to create a separate _"DefaultInput.ini"_ file with the lines near the top of the config (under "/Script/Engine.InputSettings") to make doubly sure they're being disabled.
