Why aren’t you playing through the entire game as the enemy?
I'm working on a separate progression series for that where I'll be playing through the game as Artorias using the Elite Knights Original Weapons mod. Stay tuned!
Why didn’t you do x move?
Some enemies have so many moves! I'm playing on a gamepad, so I probably either didn't have enough buttons to map it to or I forgot about it.
How are you able to do this?
You can switch to controlling each enemy via the game’s debug menu. In this particular video I'm using TheFirstHunterApprentice's Elite Knights Original Weapons mod. You can pick up this mod on Nexus Mods. You'll need to learn how to mod the game first though. Pantagana has a great guide on how to do this: • How to set up Boss vs ... . I also plan to release a tutorial soon.

Next boss you play as should be Spear of the Church. dude has such a varied moveset, it's like it changes everytime I try and beat him!
Halflight is just a npc, you can get his Katana and you can use that spear magic if you are in the Spears of the Church covenant

There's definitely more popular bosses, and more aggressive bosses, etc. But Dragonslayer armor is my favorite fight in DS3. It's just aggressive enough that it gives me a challenge without being annoying like Aldrich can be. It's a fun fight in general. It's aesthetically my favorite. Just perfect for me!

The fact that boss grabs can actually work on you is amazing, and thank you for trying to mod such a feature in. For years, bosses and enemies have been screwing themselves over by trying to grab in vs. boss/enemy videos, but for this challenge it wasn't a free hit.
It wasn't me! It was TheFirstHunterApprentice and Sam Chan. The nature of their mod makes it so that you're able to be grabbed while using the boss's skeleton. The only boss grab modding I did was in my mimic video.

The way Dragonslayer walks looks so intimidating, he looks like a predator on the prowl skulking around looking for the next poor wyvern to obliterate from existence.
I wish I could show you but when I took his Armor off and revealed the player character's skeleton underneath it looked absolutely frightening

Haha don't get too used to seeing it up there! Depending on the mod, we might have to go back to rebinding animations and taking control of enemies via the debug menu.
I love the story implications of a Dragonslayer linking the flame. Finally someone other than a random undead used the gifts they had to do it and it couldn’t have been a more badass enemy.
Except dsa is just a suit of armor controlled by the pilgrim butterfly, so not really.

fun fact: the dragonslayer armor's shield turns nameless king phase 2 into a joke as a player too! his grab becomes one of the only thing you still have to worry about aside from running out of stamina or mistiming an attack. That shiels makes his attacks tickle.
With the extended moveset, these are fantastic to watch. Thank you for putting in the extra work and keep it up!

The difference between midir and the wyvern/storm drake shows how powerful the everlasting/arch dragons truly were

@@fedorustimenko3057 His soundtrack and moveset at a guess. He's straightforward but surprisingly intricate and just extremely fun. There's enough factors to the fight to make it different every time, but not too many as to keep you from enjoying the core gameplay the way some gimmick fights do (such as Pinwheel, Micolash, etc).
He's just Soulsborne at its best basically.
Dragonslayer armour is one the best bosses in the game. Creative and varied moveset, amazing design, and the Phase 1 music is pure epicness.

Yeah, it's not the Nameless King's armor. It's just the armor used by an unnamed dragonslayer that heavily resembles Ornstein's.

Great video! Midir was the hardest for me to no hit on NG+7 and I can give you a few tips for later runs:
-When he puts his head straight it signifies that his combo has ended and you can capitalise off of it
-In phase 1 he does rampage only once when the attack is triggered but in phase two he always does 2 rampages in a row
-With the flying fire breath attack you can run in the opposite side to completely avoid the attack which might be safer than iframing it

Seeing stuff like this makes me wonder what a Souls-like would be like if they put you on more "equal" terms with the bosses, rather than having a much smaller health pool than your enemies and compensating with healing items, what would it be like to play with a big health pool that can't be restored during a fight?
I also wish we got to more often wield powers and movesets on par with the cool stuff bosses get to do. From's definitely done more of that over the years but I have to say I'd be intrigued to play as a character that felt like they themselves were some kind of demigod, rather than always being the token underdog that has some kind of special resurrection power.

In an age old an dry, there once was a lone soul. Trapped within an armor of dragon scales. This soul, burned by hatred and malice, broke free from the control of the butterflies and fell all the way to the undead graves, filled with ash. The armor then destroyed the infected gundier, the mad dog Vort, the witch, and the watchers of the abyss. The deacons were swept away, and wolnir was no match. Then, lord Pontif fought the armor. Matching it blow for blow, until at the end, the armor won. Aldrich was erased and the armor was transported to the dancers room. This beautiful monster was given a calm death. Yorm, the lord of cinder, was easily defeated by the dragon slayer armor. Making its way back up to its bridge, a copycat was in its place. The two traded blows over and over, until the twin princes, came down and threw the dragon slayer armor into the throne room. The age of fire was questioned when lorian was killed by the armor, who now was simply tired of all the fighting. The armor was beaten into the ground, when suddenly a surge of energy swept through it. The two princes then were cut down by the lightning axe. The soul of cinder was the most interesting match. The soul was trying its hardest, but the armor was too powerful. Then Osiris was slain. Sadly, the armor fell. In the ash of the dead corpse of Osiris, the soul of the dragon armor woke up in a dream, and a wyvern was in front of him. The wyvern fell, revealing the king of the storm. When the dragon fell, the nameless kin appeared. In his rage the king was able to hurt the armor, so much so that the soul barely won the battle with his wits intact. Finally, Midir, the dragon born to fight the darkness for all of eternity, was succumbed the dark. The armor, knowing what must be done, fought midir for 1,000 years. The armor was patient, getting in a few good huts every couple of years. In the end, Midir fell. The world, now succumbed to the darkness, but, with its leader one of the strongest beings still alive. Maybe there is hope for the few remaining bits of humanity

People who are trying to beat yhorm: There is an op sword behind him and if u hold r two and let go when ur sword is done charging u will deal a lot of damadge and if u keep doing that it wont take more than 10 hits to take him down

I still think this can make sense lore-wise, even though it seems weird that the dragon armor can match up so well against these big bosses.
At least for bosses like Midir you have to keep in mind that they aren't in their best shape. Best example for this is Iudex Gundyr and Champion Gundyr.
but that's just something that i questioned myself during the Pontiff Sulyvahn Bossfight
Just the fact that bosses can have their weapons bounce off of another bosses shields is so interesting and funny that bosses can actually interact with other bosses

Great video, one of my favorite bosses! Has me curious as to how easy (if possible) a run where you play as Midir would be. Maybe even make him smaller so he doesn't get hung up on the settings.

Bro that mod is so much fun. Though I gotta admit I felt a bit too OP with some of those bosses, especially Artorias. Had to resist spamming the L2. Then you got the milwood chieftain who can basically one shot every enemy from a distance with the quake attack.
I had no idea that DS Armor had that kind of poise damage with the shield. I’ll definitely have to try that next time! Cool video as always!
Tell me more about your Artorias run! I'm currently testing him right now for the progression series I'm working on and I'm worried about balance. I'm randomizing the game so that I'm forced to encounter formidable opponents around every corner but what else did you notice while playing as him?
@@AmazingChest while his L2 move is super OP and makes your damage double, I notice that it doesn’t stack the same way that it does with the real artorias in DS1 meaning that it doesn’t quadruple when buffing back to back. Aside from that, he is super fast. Faster than even the Corvian knights from the painted world. The forward light can flip NPCs like pancakes, so it’s a nice way to get revenge on Tsorig.
I’d say a way to balance the run is limit the amount of times you can use the L2 move to just once per encounter. Also, the spinning front attack can be chained an infinite number of times and it can even do heavy poise damage, so that can also trivialize fights for bosses like abyss watchers. Other than that, the rest of his move sets are quite balanced.
Looking forward to seeing that Artorias run if you decide to go through with it!
