Best thing in the DLC is the amount of content it provided (youtube content to be exact). Elden Ring is one of my favorite games not just because I love playing it, but due to the amount of fun videos that so many channels simmilar to this one can extract from the game. We had a lot of awesome things to watch coming from the base game (lore videos, challenges etc) and feels like the DLC gave the community much more to cover and at LEAST a year worth of new videos and ideas.

Honestly, I like the idea of something like a big competition. Like anywhere from $2,500-$5,000. But have it be an speedrun of all bosses throughout all Souls games. Maybe exclude Bloodborne and Demon Souls just because it limits the amount of participants due to the exclusivity. But DS1 all bosses + DLC all the way to Elden Ring + DLC.
I feel this might be a really interesting idea. As you can have two people. One person who did super good in DS1 and DS2. While the other person did bad. But the first person might struggle a ton on DS3 and ER, letting the second person catch up and take the lead. There is a wider range for error. While also not letting the runners stick to one build, forcing them to start a new build in each game.

The discovery. I recall my first playthrough looking down mountain cliffs and overseeing the land thinking “how do I get there”. And I would explore in a direction but never find it but then a cave, hidden wall, or catacomb would lead me to the way. That sense of feeling like I discovered something is the best feeling in Elden Ring.

I really love the map in the DLC. Everything has an amazing sense of verticality while feeling like a natural terrain, and the horizontal geography isn't lacking either. You can see so many places at once and also never feel like you're crossing the landscape at a snail's pace. You can reach almost every area you can see above and below you too, so this environment is truly something to experience and not just scenery. GG to the runners!

What I love most about the DLC is the music, especially the boss themes. The second phase of the Divine Dancing Lion fight is incredibly intense, and the way the music shifts with the phase change is just perfect-it fits the moment so well! 💪🔥
Another standout is the Scadu Tree Avatar. The first time you defeat it, the music feels like a typical boss theme with a hint of eeriness. When it revives, the soundtrack gets more intense, and in its final form, the music turns melancholic, really capturing the avatar's desperate struggle.
    10/10, no doubt 👌.

Might seem odd, but one of my favorite parts were indeed the furnace golems.
The way you can see them in the distance like this looming presence.
When I got one-shot by the first golem, I was certain that I was not supposed to fight it yet and that there had to be a trick.
And once I found the message on the road to church district, I finally knew how to beat them. It turned into a little puzzle. Find the right spot to throw the pots in their hearth.
I managed to find a cliff or similar high ground for every single one. Even the ones without armored legs.
The first one near the scorched ruins was the only one were I couldn't figure out how to beat him.
So I looked it up and only then did I find out, that you can actually kill them by just being persistent and attacking their legs long enough.
But I was proud of myself that I found my own way for all the others and I will do it the same in future runs.

What I love most about the DLC is how vibrant everything feels. In the base game, even the two most colorful areas, Caelid and Altus, have their colors somewhat dulled and muted, but it's like FromSoft didn't feel the need to hold back for Shadow of the Erdtree. Cerulean Coast, Charo's Hidden Grave, and especially the Ancient Ruins of Rauh are some of the most beautiful locations ever created.

I love the music of the dlc like how the Scadutree Avatar music symbolizes the 3 phases of a flowers life, its growing phase where it’s full of vigor, its blooming phase where the voice of a female symbolizing its beauty appears, and finally its withering phase where its beauty still remains but the vigor it once had is now gone.

My favorite part of the dlc was the collaborative effort that me and my friend had during it. We started playing the dlc at the same time in a party. We were always at the same progression level but at different areas. He told me how to get to certain areas and I told him how to get to certain areas. We discussed the builds we used and weapons we found, it was just a blast

I love the sense of discovery in the dlc. The first time I played it, it seemed like there was always 10 more things to find even after you thought you found everything. And even now, after knowing where pretty much all the scadu fragments are, I still find new things often when building new characters.

Best thing about this DLC honestly is amazing art direction: I can list so many examples, but Jagged Peak is... *peak*. The way the storm thickens as you climb its peak, the dead bodies of dragons littered all over the place, Igon screaming about Bayle, *Terror Incarnate*, it's a surreal experience when you finally get to the Perch of the Dread, and finally meet the world's angriest dragon who refuses to die.

Favourite part of the DLC was Midra's incredible ost, imho one of the only two in the game that perfectly narrate the story of their respective bosses (the other being Starscourge Radahn, both by Shoi Miyazawa) in such an intriguingly complex, multi-layered manner. Both of the characters say (close to) nothing to us, yet their themes tell us everything for and about them. Bonus points also for the buildup to Midra (from the unassuming ladder in Shadow Keep to the catacombs and all the way down to the insanity of the Abyss and finally his Manse).

Metyr. I love all of the "creepy/uncanny" stuff in the dlc, especially abyss woods, but Metyr for me takes the absolute cake. The atmosphere of the boss fight, the look of the arena, even how you get there all seem to be saying you aren't meant to be there, that you are intruding on something you weren't really invited to.

The thing i like the most in the dlc is the presentation, from how the land of shadows is first shown to the player, the new weapons, how the world sounds both in sound effects and ost, and the thing that made me Stop avoiding content about the dlc, the bosses, i love how cinematic some of them are, and the build up until bayle is nothing short of amazing, and adding igon to all of that makes it one of my favorite bosses in general

Favorite thing about the DLC was the bosses, closely followed by the world feel. The incredible amount of detail in seeing all the places you just could not directly reach was fascinating to explore. Everything felt both really close and ridiculously far away.

My favorite thing about the DLC is Shaman villiage. It's so peaceful in contrast to the darker tone from the rest of the DLC but it still manages to make me cry just sitting there listening to the music. Just knowing that this is home of a normal girl that abandoned her humanity to become a god just hits so hard.

My favourite thing about the DLC is the music, specifically promised consort's ost. I listen to It when I workout and whenever I need couraje to do anything. Soundtracks allow me to remember each and every fight like a movie that plays on my head with every moved linked to a part of the song, something I could only say about Gael and very few other bosses back then

I just love Mesmer, definitely my favorite part. His combos are so fluid and satisfying to dodge, and the second phase is an absolute spectacle. The cherry on top though, is that despite everything that’s happening, however crazy it might be, I never really had camera trouble with that fight.
My close second would be the soundtrack, which I think is the best one Fromsoft has made to date. I work out to Messmer’s theme, Relana’s theme, and the Lion Dancer’s theme because they just get me so hype.
Also I could really use that 60$, as I’m a broke college student and really want to try Dark Souls III
