    Would be great with a video on actual merch sales numbers for gigging indie artists. What can you expect at different fan tiers?

    Dope! Thanks for the insight on this man, been debating on adding merch and will be doing it now!

      Thanks Teo, glad you liked it! Shopify is apparently doing a 90 day free trial after this partnership with Spotify.

    Hey Andrew, do you have any new stats on this now that so much time has passed? How often do people actually buy merch directly off Spotify?

    Two seconds into the video I just gave you a thumbs up. What a way for getting straight to the point right away. And I've barely even watched the video lol Kudos Fam

    Hey, I think the real question regarding shopify is this. It's paid service monthly and many artists here, watching your channel, are starting, are getting their first marketing and starting to grow. For example, I started my self 2 months ago. Had 50 followers for 2 years and I'm at 150 now. Thanks a lot :D but continuing, I know it doesn't make sense to waste 30$ on a shop that is not gona sell anything for 150 followers. So, when do you think someone should start a shopify account? After X followers? After X monthly listeners? Real cases, studies to explore? That would be an awesome video. Pls think about it :) Love you and thanks overal for all the great info an lessons.

      Hey Nuno, thanks so much! Thats a great video idea. In general its hard to answer because it depends on so many factors. I think the average person starting from scratch if they aren't going to be running ads to try and sell stuff early on in the process, they should start off with a free store platform first.
      The right time to start paying for a store is when you know you'll have paying customers, and thats hard to know. So by creating a free store on a platform. you can have items available to test the waters. Something like Tee Spring or Printful would get the job done I think. Even Etsy or Ebay or Facebook Marketplace.

      @@AndrewSouthworth Thats a great idea, I felt bound to Shopify because of the Spotify integration. And if I don't have that many fans, aren't the ones buying stuff, the ones that actually go to my spotify profile? Of course now I'm thinking, I can market (with facebook ads) directly to my converted audience, and I'm guessing, with a free store, that would make sense.
      Would still be great to get a video from you covering all those things from a starter perspective. Thanks for the input man :)

    If you don't mind me asking, do you typicaly get 7 or more sales a month from your Shopify being connected to Spotify? I have about half your monthly listener count and I am wondering if its worth it.

    Have you noticed a difference in the save rate of your songs on Spotify? Since last week the save rate of my songs has been cut in half approximately...

    Haven't watched the video yet but im sure what i've been trying to figure out for months wont be included in this video. Does anyone have a rough idea of what percentage of monthly listeners buy merchendise? Specificy, what percentage of my monthly listeners will purchase my merchendise?

    • @AndrewSouthworth
      @AndrewSouthworth  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Overall it's a very small percentage that come from Spotify with no call to action. Most of you sales will come from your email list and/or social media, not Spotify.
      If you have less than 100k monthly listeners don't expect to get any automatic sales each month unless your fans are die hard or your merch is amazing. Even if you have more than 100k monthly listeners you'll still get the vast majority of your merch sales when you actively promote your merch.

    nice video, i was reading the terms and conditions for connecting my store to my profile and saw it says you're actually giving spotify full license and royalty free with whatever you post. "By posting User Content to the Service, you, on behalf of your Subscribing Entity, grant Spotify a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, fully paid, worldwide license to reproduce, make available, perform and display, translate, modify, create derivative works from, distribute, ect" That makes me really nervous with copyrighted materials and all from my company but I guess if my music is on there that includes my music in that also? Sorry for the long comment but I can't find much information on any of this except on spotify's website. Is there any information you know about this? Maybe i'm just reading it from a paranoid frame of mind lol. Thanks

    • @AndrewSouthworth
      @AndrewSouthworth  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That clause is what covers their ass from being sued for showing artists trademarks on their Spotify pages basically. They need permission from the store owner to reproduce visual content and language from the store so they can show it on Spotify, this would include logos, trademarks, pictures etc.
      Any image or song you upload to Spotify would have similar rules applied to it, probably even more strict language.

    • @AndrewSouthworth
      @AndrewSouthworth  ปีที่แล้ว

      Spotify only supports Shopify for merch listing. I’m surprised you hated Shopify, it’s the worlds best online store platform. Definitely has a learning curve though.

      @@AndrewSouthworth yeah, I just tried it again. It's confusing. Like if I want to sell merch. I want to make the design, choose the price and that is all I need to do. The site takes care of the rest.
