What threw the stage hand for a loop was the fact that there were 5 digits rather than the usual 4. Bob handled that gaff masterfully. Very quick witted and a fast thinker on his feet.
Bob: Ohhhhh, look what they have done- they have opened the wrong door! Now, now- Keith: Give me the car! Bob: Now, ju- just a moment. Keith has a suggestion- what did you say? Keith: Give me the car. Bob: There you are. And you know what? You know what, that halo looks even brighter up there, right now. Lucky $even is one of the easiest games for the producers to set up for a win or loss. A car valued at $45,456 would be a good chance at a win, whereas a car for $39,919 would be a pretty safe bet on a loss.
dan barker The October 13, 2014 playing of Lucky $even was for a 2014 Porsche Cayenne (valued at $57,465). The contestant got all but one number exactly right (don't know how off they were on the other digit).
Love the show The Price is right .....been watching it almost all my life .....especially with today's technology , while I'm at work it gets recorded .
Wow! A show where Barker wasn't cranky! You should have called it that...and added "...and a blooper". One of the funniest bloopers was when "Tidy Cat" litter was one of the name the price items. The dumb woman called it "Titty Cat"...Bob kept saying "TIDY Cat"and she kept saying "TITTY Cat". He was getting annoyed, but you could see he was dying to laugh. The audience was ROTFL. It was a doozy!
@volcano hi that actually makes less sense in a way, because seems like they basically woulda gave away 2 numbers then vs 1. Musta really wanted a win?
Funny, I watched TPIR a lot in the late 90's to the early 00's when I was a kid. 1986, everything still looks EXACTLY the same except Bob's hair color. Also pretty sure Rod Roddy read the wrong description or specs on that car. 1986 Trans Am had a 5.0(305 cubic inches) Chevrolet V8 standard. Came with either a carburator or then new for 1986 "Tune Port Injection" sequential fuel injection 5.0 V8, I also think for 1986 you could order the 5.7 V8(Chevy 350) Tune Port fuel injected motor. V6 was for the base Firebird, all 3rd gen Trans Ams had a V8 standard of some sort. Anyways, that was a pretty damn hot shit car for 1986. Both in terms of looks and performance, they were revolutionary compared to some of the crap put out in the late 70's/early 80's.
No; the current and most familiar Lucky Seven board didn't debut until 2001; the current board has the game title in font similar to Helvetica Black Italic, while the numbers are in a bolded Times New Roman font.
LOL they got the vehicle description wrong. That is definitely a Trans Am. But they got the engine complete wrong. The 1986 TA comes with a 5.0 Litre V-8, which is much more powerful than the 2.8 V-6 in the description lol
It said Trans Am on the front bumper, below the driver's side headlight. There's a Trans Am badge on the front fender as well. It also had the Trans Am vents in the hood. It's a Trans Am. Rod was reading copy for a generic Firebird, which had a 2.8L V6 as the base engine.
O-1 through O-3 often is more or less automatic promotion provided you do what you're supposed to. One doesn't worry about boards and such until O-4 and higher, E-5 and higher on the Enlisted side, unless you're O-1E and up. The "E" meaning Prior Enlisted in which case thats an entirely different game with an entirely different set of rules.
Alongside chrismc410's comment that the first steps are automatic, enlisted or officer, there is the fact that chaplains also only compete against other chaplains for promotion. That also means the high-end is severely limited; the highest one can currently ever reach is an Major General (2-star/O-8).
I love the way they handle mistakes. They always give the contestant the advantage.
Bob put on a class in this clip on why he was the greatest
What threw the stage hand for a loop was the fact that there were 5 digits rather than the usual 4.
Bob handled that gaff masterfully. Very quick witted and a fast thinker on his feet.
He won the car the second the wrong door opened, Bob just played it out for laughs.
Bob handled that perfectly.
Given what happened, he did.
Like always. Even through bloopers and mishaps on the show, he always found a way to make it work out and be fun and still fair for the contestant.
Except for the “fittin’ and proper” line at the end.
This was *Priceless*
That car is classic old school
Bob wanted to give that soldier a car! AWESOME. thank you for ur service sir!
"Now Keith, what do you think is the fourth number in the price of the car?" LMAO

I WON the same game 25 Oct 2017 with Drew ~ euphoric❗️

At least they honored their mistake
under california gaming laws they legally have to give up the prize if the game is not played as designed
@@moonscar119 And every time they goofed on TPIR, they awarded the contestant the prize.
They are required to under federal law. But Bob always enjoyed playing it up.

Keith got the luckiest seven ever.
Although it's rare, I've seen an instance or three where the contestant got every number exactly right.
Good one, Daniel.🤗
I thought for the blooper, Janice would crash another car...LOL !
Keith was about to sweat over winning that car!

I usually don't care for this game. It's too tough to win.
(Cue losing horns for the blooper)
I thought they usually open the FIRST number at the beginning of the game to have the contestant guess the remaining 4.

I think the mistake was made but they still had to play out the game just to fill the time.
It was the fourth number to have been opened.....if the FIRST number had been opened to being with - I would bet that is what happened.
To boost ratings and to get more viewers they may have "accidentally on purpose" made that booboo.
