I absolutely can understand, that you are loving your 4-MAXes, i would love it too, if i could pay one. This Knive looks absolutely great!!! great design, very good steel, awsome handles, sturdy as hell, simply fantastic! And it's looking as Andrew Demko had designed it perfectly for my "sweet little" paws. Really a shame, that this love in my case will never be fulfilled. But i wish you endless fun an joy with yours! They are simply gorgeous!

4Max Scout is a great deal, just wish they had kept it a liiiiittle bit more premium with G10 scales. Not a fan of Griv-Ex, especially for a hard use knife you're gonna be holding for a while. But that would cannibalise full-fat 4Max sales too much, I'm sure. First site that has a big enough sale or folds and drops the price, I'll be grabbing an Italian 4Max hopefully.
Keep an eye on eBay. There are a couple great sellers there that will take decent offers.
@@Jimislash I've always felt funny buying stuff like knives off eBay. Especially in the UK. You think it's a safe bet? Do I need to keep a keen eye out for counterfeits?
@@AcidTripwire I don't know of any counterfeit 4-Maxes. Also, eBay is WAY on the buyer's side in disputes.
You said the second runs hade a lock bar that sticks up is that something to be considered with I have a Italy one that dose that a bit just wandering sence you have so many lol
Yeah, but they fixed the lockbar thing with the third run. I haven't seen an Italian one with that issue. You could send it to them to fix.

I have been following your channel for some time now and yes have bought numerous Cold Steel blades bc of you and your enthusiastic reviews!!! Never been disappointed with a single purchase. I already own the 4Max scout after buying the last one they had at SMKW!! Hahaha ... my question is... I also want to get a high end 4Max. Just so torn between ordering the Italian version and the American one! Any suggestions or things to think about??
I like the feel of the Italian 4-Max, just a little better. You can save money by getting the Italian version. If you can't find a 1st Gen American one, save the money and go Italian.

I HAVE THE ITALIAN MADE 4 MAX, AND THE 4 MAX SCOUT. I LOVE MY 4 MAXES. I LIKE TO WEAR BOTH OF MY 4 MAXES TOGETHER, BUT THEN I AD THE BIG BOY TO MY POCKET. THE ESPADA XL.. I LIKE BIG POCKET KNIVES. YOU CAN DO ALOT MORE WITH A BIG KNIFE, JUST ASK MY WIFE.

@@Jimislash I see one for AD10 vs AD15. I have to say that living in the city, I have no real need for a knife that big, and I couldn't legally carry it anyway. But dang, I want one :)

I have the scout and can’t see needing to upgrade to any of the others. Also I have both blade variants of the sr1 lite and don’t feel the need for the regular sr1 either. The budget versions are so beefy with such thick stock that even with cheaper steel your not gonna hurt em.

I agree with Josh's all time favorite. It's the Andrew Demko Custom AD-10. Great blade and super hard to find. Also smaller than the 4-MAX.

I am trying not to get upset. Paid all that money and my Italian 4Max is harder to depress to disengage the blade than my 4Max Scout. I tried alittle oil, now the lockbar will sometimes not engage thus i am having to push it down the rest of the way. This is ridiculous. I paid too much money on this thing to have these issues. Any suggestions?? I honestly am hoping it wont require me to turn around and send it off to Cold Steel then not see it again for weeks to come when i just got it yesterday. So disappointed right now.
If it's that tough, send it back.
