The happiest audience I've ever seen they adore The Dixie Chicks who can blame them they are truly amazing I love them so very talented and excellent live LOVE TO THE DIXIE CHICKS FROM A HUGE FAN IN ENGLAND BLESS YOU ALLXXX
I love all these young girls feeling this song. I think we all need wide open spaces. I did at 33. Still. This was a theme song for me. 2023. Still love my Chicks. Go back all the time.
Just was re introduced to DC’s Awesomeness! Loved them ever since they spoke out against the War ! God Bless & keep doing you do! USA 🇺🇸 Free #NoWarNoMore !
I'll always love Natalie. I see this video and the command that she had over the audience is nothing short of amazing. There were mixed feelings in the band at this time, but she still had them all in the palm of her hand, whether she was completely in the moment or not. Regardless of any inner feelings, she was well aware that the cameras were rolling for this show. The talent can't be taken away...the whole band is in the moment and definitely delivered.
Awesome song. One of the best country songs ever. Beautiful blend of instruments, violin, banjo, steel guitar. Beautiful harmonies by beautiful women. Great audience participation.
This is right up there with one of my all time favorite live videos.....I've watched on here, but haven't attended. Crowd is into it, ladies are giving a great performance....perfect!!! :)
I was there and yes...it was a moment. Haha. I was only 15 years old and just began playing fiddle! Inspired by Martie. I'm 33 now. Still playing all their solos and riffs. And more. Also inspired to pick up dobro by Emily. It was like we were rolling, but nobody needed drugs! Everyone sang every word of every frickin' song! The energy of everyone, knowing it was being filmed for TV...no cell phones. I saw more than a few crying faces when the audience sang, and Natalie shouted, "your turn"! I was bawling!! You could really feel everyone's love. For the Chicks, and strangely, each other!!
This is one of those rare things achieved by very few artists where it's almost a spiritual experience. They have such a connection to their fans, likely through the great songs and lyrics, that it just speaks to them all. And they return the love.
@@BBslider001 No kidding. Women are more free now than they have ever been. There is absolutely nothing holding women back. Women have all the advantages these days. We need a Strong Man Liberation today!!!!!
There is in these four minutes some mystical combination of elements - the empowering Susan Gibson lyrics, the joyful performance, the palpable happiness of the crowd, the unanimous singalong that elevates this to anthem - that sparks a smile that turns into laugh that somehow induces even tears. Rare is the song that can attain this and if you don't feel a slight surge of communal optimism upon watching it then, well... bummer. (Love that little hello from Emily to someone at 1:31.)
Oh My Stars! At 35, I left everything and moved cross country from Alabama to California as a single woman. 5 years later at my wedding we played this song and my momma cried, so excited that all my dreams had come true.
😂 I’m from Alabama too. Looks like you moved FROM wide open spaces. 🤦🏽♀️ I just hope you married well; I heard rent and and mortgage is through the roof.
I think it's a journey we all took, some stay the course and others find their way back home. My mother saw me off and cried I faced the unknown but kept journeying and finally found my place too. You have to go for it win or lose it's all worth it girls.
I doubt it, Republicans have done a good job in destroying this country, in all likely this concert took place before Bush Jr. was given 8 years to destroy this land and that is what he did
Nah, this was pre-9/11 and ever since the government has brainwashed people into thinking all they need is more government involvement and they'll be safe, when it's really the opposite. And ironically it was the Dixie Chicks who first pointed out the terrible job Bush Jr was doing and they were blacklisted for it. If only people had listened back then.
3 gifted and beautiful ladies no doubt. I appreciate their need to get political. I also appreciate the fans saying stick to your gifts. As Gene Simmons so eloquently put it.....shut up and juggle or sing. 😂😂
@@johnswimcat you're so right--these girls touched people on so many levels, it wasn't just music--it was a show of humanity at its best--art, music, fun, and love all in one show--what a feat
I look at this and am in awe that Natalie had no experience as a lead singer prior to her joining the Dixie Chicks in the mid-90s. She's such a natural in that role, and that voice is so perfectly suited for country and americana music.
I have a feeling that this song speaks to everyone there. I bet you all the women there had been through that herself. I’ve seen audiences sing along to the band but never so enthusiastically and with so much feeling. Amazing!!
Probably why the first line is: "Who doesn't know what I'm talking about? Who's never left home, never struck out... to find a dream and a life of their own....."
Look at all these young girls....the Dixie Chicks were role models no matter what all the yahoos thought.....I love them to this day..........Donna in Toronto
That has got to be the happiest looking & overall most entertaining audience I have ever seen attending a concert. It almost brought tears to my eyes.
You have probably never seen a live Motley Crue show
Anyone know how to find thecwhole concert.
Its a tv special called "on the fly"
Those women are the bomb.

Turn 33 in a few hours and I feel this in my heart.
That has GOT to be the greatest compliment to the artists to have an audience sing the song BACK to them !!
Natalie is quite amazing. Total devotion to the music and the people she’s singing to. One in a billion.
I moved away from home place of 39 yrs! I played this song over and over 740 miles never looked back 👏🏻👏🏻. YES

Used this Song on a TH-cam video with my daughter. We hiked across England, OMG best hike ever!
Love the Dixie Chicks. Thank God for TH-cam. Still one of my favorite bands.
This is such a powerful song . Amazing vocals .
I'm a rock and roll kind of guy from the 80's, but the Dixie chicks are not only cute but man they can sing. Love the song.
same here and they just "vanished".....
Lovely to see the kids singing along. So good for the soul.
I keep coming back to this superb video... so many happy people
Wow this is one of the best crowds I've ever seen. Looked like such an amazing experience
Yes, I don't think I've ever seen so many happy people. The power of music...

I just thought exactly the same. Wow!
When you have thousands of people singing along with your song, that's gratifying. When they're all actually in key, that's Christmas.
I have never seen so many happy and beautiful women in one place before this!
Thank you, Chicks, for your musical gifts! And thank you speaking out and not backing down. Your example is important now more than ever.
I love this song … and I think these women are amazing ❤obviously good looking but the music speaks to the ❤❤❤
The Chicks and other Chicks. I’m blown away by this LIVE performance.
