"An Elf archer getting boromired" 🤣🤣🤣
Enjoy the trailer? I thought it was the best one so far.😁👍
tbh I thought that was Adar because of the dark attire and long hair
@@Enerdhil Yes, it looks good. But when in the name of Ulmo will they finally show us a scene with Cirdan? Not just his hand, the whole guy, preferably saying something profound or sarcastic. Anything. I want to know if i will like him or not.
@@blueshit199 thought the same but it would be weird to spoil his death like that even if it is inevitable
😂
Goldberry shows up and snaps Tom out of being serious or giving two sh$ts about anything other than his perfect cabin and smokeshow of a wife… ‘TIDDLY HO, OFF YOU GO!’ *kicks the blue wizard out of his house / slams the door behind him*
The Easterlings wearing masks designed to look like monsters might be to give the impression that evil spirits haunt the desert
Perhaps the work of a necromancer who will become the second of the 9?
Yes they reminded me of the maniwa ningun from Katana monogatari.😂
No it's just dumbass ROP costume design
Did they use a different actor for adar?
@@TheRealUncleTrump
Yes. They changed actors. Joseph Mawle was the best actor in Season 1, IMO.😞
"a flying Delta kinda day" I havent had liquid go up my nose for awhile. Thanks. LOL
Maybe Bombadil gifts his jacket to the wizard once they part ways. And we all know what color that jacket will be. Blue wizard confirmed!
That makes too much sense for them to actually do it.😅
@@Enerdhil I sincerely hope they prove you wrong. I dont know how you come to have such a poor opinion about the writer's 'sense' in terms of the direction of the story from only one season. I think the writers are cleverer than you give them credit and have deliberately misled people into thinking Gandalf etc. even though they clearly said prior to S1 that if Gandalf were to be on screen it could only be played by McKellen.
that would be great!
@@markwareham6031season 1 suggested everything about rings of power is awful (I really hoped otherwise). What exactly makes you think so positively about the writing?
The hat Tom wears at 18:00 is different from this blue hat, so he clearly has one to spare. Along with a spare blue coat; there you have it - all you need for a Blue Wizard. I'm sold.
I was at Comic Con today. Watching this now, and SPOILER I can clear up that Miriel is performing a ritual with the sea worm. She is being tried for some crime (most likely having led their people to a losing battle), and the way they decide this is to throw a person into the sea and if they survive the sea worm, they are declared innocent. The actress shared how she had to film this in a tank.
Also they did promise singing from Tom and the Stranger, more singing from Disa, and Gil-Galad also got up and sang something for us right there in Hall H
The Sea is always right.😂😆🤣
So more goofy non existent lore
Thanks - that all sounds good to me. I appreciate you writing SPOILER for those who did not want to know. But I'm happy to learn this.
@@IarwainBen-adarits fan fiction basically get over it
I’m thinking that first shot of Halbrand is when he’s leaving Eregion after his confrontation with Galadriel
It makes sense.
that makes sense. i think it would be weird for him to reenter eregion as halbrand.
Spoiler
.
.
No he returns to Eregion as Halbrand to tell Celebrimbor "truth" then he will show his "true form"
That’s exactly what my first thought was too.
Nah...he looks like he's been through the wars there...he didn't look that way leaving Eregion...
"In the next shot we see the ring continuing to fall down some steps" LOL
I just gotta say how much I appreciate your commentary, both for your Tolkien knowledge and your humour. You have the perfect balance of getting the information across while throwing in the occasional one liner. Being “Boromired” is officially a verb now 😂
I do have to say, this looks much better than the first season. I also always thought that it's a blue wizard, it just makes sense - they're the most mysterious and less known ones.
If the Stranger turns out to be Pallando (one of the Blue Istari) and his mission is to save his best friend Alatar, then the storyline is close enough to the lore to accept.
Season 1 of Star Trek: The Next Generation was also pretty disliked when it came out, and it became one of the best Sci-Fi TV shows of all time. I never expected a creative team to get something perfect from its very first season. All I ask is that they take the criticism and advice onboard and use it to improve later ones!
That's like saying the atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki was better than the one that hit Hiroshima. Really?
If they were smart they would make him a blue wizard. That would fix things a little bit.
Hopefully. They don't make him Sauraman or Gandalf
If you zoom in on the last shot of the charge with the orcs in the background, you can see Adar standing next to a cage on a wagon with someone inside 👀
Spoiler Alert!
It's probably Galadriel. she is supposed to be a caged prisoner in one of the episodes of Season 2
Yep looks like her. There was a photo of her sitting at Adar’s table with him
Better caged than having your dead body made into a banner iykwim 😬
@@dr.k1012Turns out Sauron is far worse than Adar!
@@dr.k1012 yep I’m wondering how they’re going to do that.
Thank you so much for not trashing the show. I actually avoided watching this breakdown as so many other "Tolkien/LOTR" channels have done nothing but piss and moan about the show, trashing it with every comment even before it launched, going on and on about "canon" and though I had to get over short haired elves and actors that look a bit too old to be playing ageless elves, over all I did enjoy the first season. I am looking forward to the end of August and what the 2nd season has to offer. Thank you again for your open minded presentation. Peace
This is my favourite LOTR channel by far. It's not even close.
Same
It's my favorite, but "In Deep Geek" is good too.
In my opinion definitely the best in depth LOTR channel I've seen.👍
Rings and Realms and the Tolkien Professor are excellent too.
@@himmelektronik I dunno anymore it used to be, he clearly just wanted to zoom through this as fast and as blind as S1 Galadriel. I've shared my Balrog theory and man's acting like he's too busy or has too many notifications to go through when nobody tweets him 🤣
season one was rough. I would rather much have a series with a bad start and a great ending than the other way around. The trailer looks awesome
when 63% of people can't even watch a full season, i somehow doubt it's going to end well
keep shilling, though.
@@hamadkennedy6295he isn’t shilling at all dude. Get a life.
@@hamadkennedy6295 rather it start bad then end like GoT
@@hamadkennedy6295it was bad... That's true. But he said as much. So what's your point?
I think the balrog is a vision of the possible future conjoured by Annatar to convince Durin to take a ring. He looks into the fire and a mini balrog appears - I think this is sorcery on Sauron's part. He will tell Durin that the destruction of Khazad Dum by the balrog, which his son has disturbed by mining mithril, is inevitable unless he takes a ring, which will give him the power to protect his realm.
Dwarves naturally lust for the Dwarves Rings of Power. You don't need to trick them into taking a Ring.
@@Enerdhil That's not necessarily true. The rings given to the dwarves made them more greedy, but they did not have the same dominating effect on dwarves as the rings did to man, since dwarves are stubborn and their minds refuse to be dominated, as Aule made them to be.
@@Enerdhil He just needs to explain to him what it's for, and it gives them an excuse to show the balrog.
It looks like they might be playing the "Sauron's deception is deeper than we all thought" motif with Galadriel and Celebrimbor. My guess is Gal still secretly considers Sauron's proposal because it is her greatest weakness, one she still hasn't denied thousands of years later. Elrond's friendship with her, or perhaps a future relationship with Celeborn, helps keep her desires in check. Elrond always being the reasonable one when it comes to denying power is very lore accurate. I also feel like in that one shot Annatar looks different. Is it possible Cele doesn't see Annatar the same way we see him? Like he's being manipulated to see another form?
In the trailer, if you pause the video quickly right when the balrog stabs his sword down, you can see right behind it, a figure that looks a lot like Disa holding a Palantir. This is probably a vision the palantir is showing her of the dwarves awakening the balrog, like how Miriel saw the fall of numenore. We did see Disa with a palantir in the behind the scenes clip. And in the trailer, when she says “I’m afraid, Durin”, she’s probably referring to what she saw in the palantir
"...not to say Celebrimbor can't have two friends at once..." 😂😂😂 This was a sterling breakdown and VERY knowledgeable.
12:39: you might be thinking of the Tusken Raiders in general lol, they definitely give off that vibe
Exactly!
Looks more like a quarren to me
Yeah, Tusken Raiders or Canyon Bike Raiders from Mad Max Fury Road. I got big Mad Max vibes from that shot.
yep, I agree Tusken Raiders but its obvious by the coloring these are allies the director is using obvious misdirection, derivation and duplication of 'Enfy's Nest' Erin Kellerman's character in Solo a Star Wars Story
Grievous?
In the clip with the mystics and moths, it looked like someone in the background was raising a staff.
It looks to me they are summoning someone.
The quote we hear in the final shots of the trailer, “When darkness falls, there are always some who rise forth to shine,” is spoken by Annatar/Sauron. It's undoubtedly Charlie Viker's voice.
The guy trying to use lore to predict an Amazon show … have you learned nothing ?
Just doing his job and trying to earn his living lmao there’s no way he genuinely cares or thinks the show is good.
Don’t blame him, get the coins 😂

Glad to have a calm breakdown of this trailer. After I watched the trailer I was feeling all sorts of ways, especially when they seemed to be implying the Three were evil and it just got me angry! I am a bit too much of a book purist here, so your calm analysis helps me back up and appreciate the things I do enjoy about the show, and let go of my frustrations everywhere else. Thanks!
"Next up we have an elf archer getting Boromirred.." 😆😅🤣😂
You’re thinking of a Tusken Raider
Exactly
or Plo Koon
Benthic "Two Tubes," also known simply as "Tubes," was a male Tognath mercenary pilot who flew alongside his eggmate and brother, Edrio. The two shared the nickname derived from the breathing apparatus that allowed their Tognath physiology to process oxygen atmospheres.
Looks more like the Pyke
@@sarahrosen802 actually no it's like that one character in Solo a star wars story.
I’ve been subscribed to your channel for years. And I’m sad to say I haven’t watched as many of your videos as I should have. You are the most positive and supportive channel of LOTR. Your videos are clean, hopeful, and informative. Thank you! 🙏🏻
12:38 I think you’re thinking of Sidon Ithano, the space pirate Finn almost runs off with in Episode 7 when they’re at Maz’s castle
Yeah that's what I was thinking too, he's the Crimson Corsair
I thought of him too
I originally thought of Benthic from Rogue One.
Yes him and two tubes from Rogue One. Similar design
I thought of Enfys Nest from Rogue One movie.
These “wings” on the balrog are definitely way more accurate to the description in fellowship of the ring
I like the idea of Balrogs being like chickens. They cant fly, but they do have “wings” to fall down slowly 😅
But Chickens can actually fly if their feathers arent cut.
😂😅
*Minecraft chickens
jungle chickens can fly

Círdan was born all the way back at Cuiviénen before the Great Journey even began, he’s over 10,000 years old and likely the oldest being in Middle-Earth at the end of the Lord of the Rings, not counting higher entities like Gandalf or Tom Bombadil. He probably knew Ingwë, Finwë, Elwë and Olwë personally. It’s a shame he wasn’t included in the Peter Jackson films, but it’d be badass if he shows up in Rings of Power.
He's in there. Ben Daniel's is playing Círdan!
He _was_ seen at PJ's final scene at the Grey Havens.
@@ir8free Yes, a non-speaking role.
I have to say, it’s so refreshing seeing a channel that’s so positive and hopeful about LotR media. I enjoyed this show in the same way I enjoyed shadows.
The rest would also love to be positive and hopeful about it, if it wasn't all modern agenda-driven drivel.
Definitely. Totally enjoyable for a Tolkien fan, if taken for what it is.
Idk how you can be hopeful with this garbage heap of a show
Yes agreed. I truly don’t understand the hate. This trailer looked fantastic and the plot points seem to be more intriguing than season 1.
@@Kawasaki10rr I mean I’m always happy to be in the world of Tolkien. Sure it’s not perfect but it’s entertaining enough and there’s plenty of overlooked things in this show to be admired.
They have such a great opportunity to really dive into the Nazgûl background
Gil-Galad's ring and spear! 0:15 cant wait to see him in action
Yes. It would be great to see Aeglos in action.
The dude looks like Two-Tubes from Rogue One, also a little like the pirate Finn agrees to travel with in the canteen scene in The Force Awakens
Yeah, the pirate is the one that came to mind even before he mentioned Star Wars. Sidon Ithano. Very cool tokusatsu-looking dude.
Of all the things happened in this trailer, Bombadil asking Will you abandon them to their doom concerned me the most.
I'm legitimately afraid the writers are going to try to rewrite Tom Bombadil as the second blue wizard, and that's why him and Meteor Man spend so much time together.
@@kelseyjmoore Nah you can see a glimpse of Ciaran Hinds as the second blue wizard, surrounded by his cultists in Rhun
That wasn't nearly as bad as Galadriel trying to talk Elrond into wearing one of the Elven Rings of Power while justifying wearing her own Ring.
If that isn't opposite of what happens in the lore then I don't know Tolkien
@@Enerdhilnonsense. That is not the opposite of the lore at all.
Why? Bombadil is a wise person. He is the eldest and is only asking the Wizard what he is to do. This characterisation of Bombadil as a silly, unwise, unthinking and uncaring person is not at all accurate. Bombadil is merry, and hopefully we will see that, and he is not dragged down by the ordinary concerns hence does not generally involve himself directly in the big events in ME. But he is nonetheless wise and may help the Stranger find his path.
Baby Balrog 😂 what a frightening thought
He’d be just a cute lil boy. Aww look at him trying to claw my face off, how adorable!
I want one
The crown looks more like it belongs to the witch king to me.
But thats just my guess.
That would mean that the men of the nine rings have already began to fall and that is way too soon.
Update to my comment: I'm a lifelong Tolkien reader and collector, but I don't cry about lore changes in a TV adaptation. You guys need to relax. The production of this show is incredible and I'm loving this trailer. Massive improvement from S1. Some canon references and characters for us book nerds, but mostly great action and entertainment for casual fans. That's the point of the show, the haters need to get over it, and it is still bringing more people to the books. I love it and can't wait.
I know NOTR is trying to stay neutral because even with this looking so much better than season 1, there are still so many trolls and #toxictolkiengatekeepers But come on, this is an epic trailer, it looks way better than season 1, and I'm totally over the lore changes because it is still awesome entertainment. I can't wait to enjoy the coming season.
Being disappointed in what’s thus-far been a cringey embarrassing show makes someone “toxic”?
Am I trolling?!😱
@@Enerdhil If you dare have an opinion that doesn’t perfectly match his, then maybe? 😉

I’ll be honest. I’m 43 years old, never read the books, thought the movies were for kids when they came out and payed this world no attention until I got sick and fell in love with the movies and the content creators on TH-cam. I mentioned I never read the books and all the lore I’ve delved in to come from the internet, so I have to be honest….I liked the first season and I’m pumped for season two. I live in New England and this will be premiering when we are getting a chill in the air, it reminds me and gives me the feelings I used to feel in autumn, going back to school and enjoying an awesome fall lineup on t.v.
Books are great, would recommend
12:31 Qui-gon, when he’s telling anakin to just follow along
I'm sure someone else has spotted this, but @19:18 it looks like it's the elven / anatar version of Sauron that gets "crowned". So, it's possible that Sauron was already up to no good as Anatar much earlier than we were aware.
My big hope is that the Anatar stuff happens in the past, he works with Celebrimbor but gets found out and runs. And then Adar tries to kill him, thinking he was successful because Sauron then takes the Halbrand form
I'm on your team: Blue Wizard it is.
I wouldn't even mind if they change to only ONE blue wizard, if that is what it takes for the Stranger not to be Gandalf...
You had me at Ents!

The fact that Sauron can change into any form and he just chose Halbrand with longer hair as Annatar ahaha
I think in 20:17 it is Elrond's Hand. His actor (Robert Aramayo) has these noticeable short fingers. I paid a lot of attention to his hands in Season 1 for other reasons, so I think they're his.

Bang on! I was devo'd that he wasn't Sauron!! I thought he was the most charismatic baddie I'd ever seen and LOVED him seeing the orcs as his children. LOVED that they addressed him as Father and had reverence for him. I was really invested in him as a tormented Sauron with his wayward flock, who all share a deep and sadistic emotional bond. It had so much energy and really made me understand why they would follow this destroyer anywhere. Not so sure anyone would follow Blondie anywhere.
matt how did you get this up so fast!!!! this is incredible
Actually Fellowship of Fans was the first to upload their live panel discussion and Yoystan of Men of the West also uploaded before Matt did. Perhaps Chris of the Philosopher's Game also uploaded before Matt.
Given the significant alterations or additions to the established lore, I anticipate that the series will conclude with Bombadil as the Ring-bearer, ultimately casting the Ring into Mount Doom while riding an eagle.

The burning of the Entwives and the shot with Bombadillo and the wizard at 17:52 might be connected?!
"Will you abandon them [the Entwives] to their doom?"
Now it's visible that the timeline compression makes no sense....they pick and choose events and elements without any causality established within the works of Tolkien.....hell Entwives plot supposedly being connected to that whole wizard and dumb harfoot side plot in Rhun is what makes no sense...Entwives gardens where they were settled were nowhere in Rhun...by the river Anduin where Brown Lands were later...and those garden scorched in the War of the Last Alliance, thousands of years AFTER the whole forging rings and war in Eregion. Entwives that desired order and control and settling down would be only possible to find elsewhere after they would theoretically fled the destruction of their homes...it's actually important to note that Tom Bombadil and Entwives are....kind of opposite sides of spectrum in a way Tom was more like male Ents...still wandering (though even then he would be already veering into the regions he knew best....wandering Eriador).
"[Tom Bombadil] has no connexion in my mind with the Entwives. What had happened to them is not resolved in this book. [Bombadil] is in a way the answer to them in the sense that he is almost the opposite, being say, Botany and Zoology (as sciences) and Poetry as opposed to Cattle-breeding and Agriculture and practicality.
I think that in fact the Entwives had disappeared for good, being destroyed with their gardens in the War of the Last Alliance (Second Age 3429-3441) when Sauron pursued a scorched earth policy and burned their land against the advance of the Allies down the Anduin (vol. II p. 79 refers to it). They survived only in the 'agriculture' transmitted to Men (and Hobbits).
Some, of course, may have fled east, or even have become enslaved: tyrants even in such tales must have an economic and agricultural background to their soldiers and metal-workers. If any survived so, they would indeed be far estranged from the Ents, and any rapprochement would be difficult - unless experience of industrialized and militarized agriculture had made them a little more anarchic. I hope so. I don't know.

The "who is this man?" conversation happens in Lindon, while Celebrimbor hasn't left Eregion. I'm predicting that they're going to keep his identity as Sauron a secret, keeping Celebrimbor in the dark. This would render the "why doesn't Celebrimbor recognize him?" argument null. Celebrimbor does recognize him, but doesn't have any reason to suspect that he's Sauron. Thank you for not bashing the show. I am an absolutely huge fan of JRRT and the books and the movies were beautiful to me. I don’t expect anyone to be able to live up to the movies - let alone the books but I will always be hugely stoked to watch anything that puts in the effort to the visual and emotional storytelling of Middle Earth. I don’t care things were out of order as much as I cared about the short stature of Galadriel lol. And I didn’t like her coldness either. I get this is depicting serious times in her world but Galadriel should have been depicted as at least more charismatic and even charming if her intent was to make it back to Middle Earth from Númenor.

@@RghtBrnd Exactly. Thank you!! 💙
The fatuous arrogance of a producer/show runner to mutate and modify the art of another, Tolkien of all people, to satisfy and push political agendas, identity politics, and DEI ideologies constitutes artistic blasphemy of the absolute worst and most detrimental kind.
The priorities SHOULD have been, in order;
-Honor and respect the piece of art you’ve been entrusted with.
-THE ENTERTAINMENT OF THE AUDIENCE is essentially 1-B.
The audacity and egregiousness these “show runners” propagated, that they knew better, and were worthy of making enormous changes to the lore, for the ridiculous reason and trope “for the modern audience”, is so disturbingly preposterous, and as a consequence, they should never be trusted or allowed around someone else’s art again. They simply should have started over. It was an abject and grandiose failure, ONLY because they prioritized injecting their politics, and actually ENTERTAINING the audience was irrelevant and inconsequential.
You’re doing yourself, and everyone else, no favors by palliating and whitewashing the truth as this constitutes a mechanism of enablement……
@@cb5117 I don’t think Tolkien would argue with you. Because I think he wrote these books for people to enjoy. 'His Fire was quenched for now he was a thing of slime, stronger than a strangling snake' says Gandalf in the chapter The White Rider. This is the biggest question mark from the trailers and id appreciate it if you'd take it in for a minute.
Solid theory
3:41 "Sometimes Foreshadowing is relatively obvious" 😂
Remember how Galadriel DIDNT reveal who Halbrand was in Season 1. Like not even to f***in Celebrimbor, the Greatest of the Elven Smiths?
That crown is definitely a pared down version of Sauron’s helm from the movies
I love your outlook on changes made by the shows. "I'm not sure how it'll work but we'll see". Yeah shows always make changes, sometimes better, sometimes worse.
In the book, annatar lured celebrimbor on by telling him that together they could make Middle Earth as great and beautiful as valinor
Imma be honest, if they made their own world they would prolly do better cuz they have some nice ideas but it doesn't work with the vast lore of Middle Earth
I would love to see Payne and McKay make a Tolkienian world out of the East. Perhaps they will start with Rhûn.
Is it not possible that the rings were made offscreen and the whole sequence will be flashbacks? Not seeing anyone consider that possibility.
I have been posting that since the end of Season 1.
S.A. 1500 Annatar, Celebrimbor and the Gwaith-i-Mirdain forge the sixteen original Rings of Power
S.A. 1590 Celebrimbor creates the Three Elven Rings of Power: Vilya, Nenya, and Narya.
S.A. 1600 Sauron forged The One Ring in the fires of Orodruin.
A flashback makes a lot of sense. It would keep the story lore-accurate, which is why they definitely won't do it.😞
Especially as the Sauron being crowned looks elvish to me.
@@TomOnTheTube saurons fair form looks elvish in nature. It's probably his true form(not one ring armored from fellowship prologue)
I wonder if Celebrimbor's motivation might be linked to dwarves, and take advantage of the reverse order of the three: maybe Annatar could guilt-trap him into forging more rings for his friends in Moria by saying something like "oh you made these to protect your elven kingdoms but now that the dwarves are threatened by the balrog you don't want to help them"... I would love to see the creation of the Doors of Durin in this context as well, but probably they don't have the rights for that part.
What i'm most curious about, where did Nerd get the trailer in 4k? Been looking for it, no luck....
Isn't the video on Prime Video's TH-cam channel in 4k?
@@Enerdhil nope
@@boris3973
Wow! If that is true, then Matt must have an inside connection to Amazon.😱 They probably give it out to every influencer on their "team." Hopefully there is another less scandalous reason why he has a 4k version of the trailer.
Probably upscaled possibly? Idk. I know there's some software now that uses AI to rerender videos at 60fps 4k HDR
I’m glad you brought up the rings being forged out of order and also the conundrum of Galadriel being influenced by Sauron while wearing nenya when he shouldn’t have even known about it. Plus the weird timeline with him and Celebrimbor
It's a dumpster fire.🙄
@@Enerdhil it’s inconsistencies like this (and other things) that make me not really enjoy the series!
@@gilchkat
I try to enjoy the series for what it is, but I can't. There are too many Legendarium-wrecking storylines.
@@Enerdhil same
You seemed to miss the other wizard appearing out of the moths and raising his staff @13:25
that was the person blowing the moths out she was already in that position before the moths going wild
@@FelonOWi thought that, but no, there is a still that shows its a seperate shot merged with a male wearing blue and a staff. You cant clearly see its Hinds, but it probably is.
it's ciaran hinds's character
The Easterlings wearing mask is probably reminding you of Knights of Ren, who also had a similar shot in Star Wars where they stand on a ridge and the camera pan towards them.
No use consulting the text, its Amazon. They burned the text before season 1.
Why are there like 20 elves? They need some extras in this show
Absolutely cannot wait august 29 is so far away😩
Rewatch Season 1.😁👍
@@Abefroman-lq3md It's insane how so many are ok with the bastardisation of Tolkien's Middle-Earth.
About Tom Bombadil.
Why would he be jolly, bubbly and singing all about ...in the middle of a dying desert???
People, this is a new story, therefor the plot needs character development.
When you all saw TB in the books, where was is? The Old Forrest 😐.
The place he never really ventures out of. Why??
Perhaps because his power is tied to the life of the land.
So being in DRY desert... why would you expect him to be ANYTHING like what he was in the books?
This is very simple stuff people.
Bombadil is trying to resist the spreading death of that land.
Stay tuned...
I'm legitimately afraid the writers are going to try to rewrite Tom Bombadil as the second blue wizard, and that's why him and Meteor Man spend so much time together.
If, come the conclusion of the plotline in this season, this is not the case, then I want you to return to this comment and write "I eat soap" or Tom Bombadil is going to hunt you down and sing at you
@@thomabow8949 I accept your terms. I'm seriously hoping they don't even think about doing that. But, they did such a questionable job with the writing the first season, I could see them making that jump.
Based on some interviews and articles they gave about Bombadil, they likely will not do this. They said they aren't going to try to answer questions that Tolkien left unanswered. They also said that his character at his core is 'non-interventionist', he would sing and be "a point of light amidst an otherwise sea of darkness", but we did get some more serious lines in the this trailer. I recommend the vanity fair article if you want to read more about it.
@@Otterable8well said. The Stranger is Blue Wiz 1 and Ciaran Hands in Blue Wiz 2.
The trailer looks way better than the entire 1st season.
Elf-vengers assemble. 😂😂
This looks incredible 🤩 I'm so excited for this 🎉🎉
With you 100% about the stranger being a blue wizard. He goes into the East and I think making him Gandalf would be an epic mistake by the showrunners. Also just going to make a wild prediction: this season’s cliffhanger will include the stranger finding another wizard.
The entire show is a mistake.
Not sure they can make a larger mistake than season 1 as a whole - making Gandalf as Tom Bombadil's son is probably what they went for. Galadrial is the Mom
