- In this video I am going to show you how to find stocks with the Sleeping Monster Scan using Finviz. I used this scan to find many monster stocks that were in a period of consolidations (sleeping) before they woke back up again.
I will walk you through what I look for and how I would go about trading the stocks that show up on the screener.

Love this video. By far my favorite youtube channel to gain real insight and knowledge. I love how your channel is "teaching a man to fish", especially in this video. I never miss an episode. As someone that watches a lot of youtube videos I don't think you should be shy about reminding people to hit the "thumbs up" button. You don't know how often I find myself forgetting to hit it when I should (and would) until the TH-camr reminds me. I'm sure you could tinker with it and figure out the best placement for it but I find myself most inclined to hit it at some point between the halfway point and the 75% mark. Once I know I've "got my money's worth" but before it goes into the conclusion which I might skip.. I think it's pretty standard to remind people and will certainly increase the numbers. I know you error on the side of not wanting to come across as being too salesy or monetizing but you put in a lot of work and I don't think it's too much to ask in return. Appreciate all the work you put in and happy to give all I can in return.

I was doing a similar type of screening for small caps. I made 12% in January and 20% halfway through February. But then the big pullback happened and I haven't gotten back into it yet. I have always said that people need to take a more active role in their investments and this is a great way to do so. It doesn't take a lot of time and it's a fun hobby.

Thanks for all the advice Mike. I Have had success with all of your scanners. Even helped a fellow Webuller friday evening. We both caught a 35% gain on a s Friday evening sleeper, AH's with the bouncy ball scan. I could literally start an alert service with info from ur scans. There is an old saying in stock trading "DON'T MISS THE MOVE." This is literally the best indicator for the getting in on the move I have seen. It is either an equalized continuation to the upside or an equalized move negating the initial rally to the downsize. I never miss your videos but I never comment on videos in general. I just wanted to genuinely say thank you for all the outstanding analytical and educational content you put in your videos, they are very much appreciated. Excellent video here, on scanning for longer term swing positions, and this helped me
a lot to set up the scanner to produce these results. I wonder if you have made a video
on how to set up "short term" swing positions, and how to key in the factors on Finviz ?
If you haven't done one ( I'll check) could you do one like this. Example would be to get
stocks that generally go up over a 6 - 12 month period, but also in that period the price
is regularly moving up and down -- more volatile. Love to be able to setup up for this.
This would show ideal short term swing trades. Thanks for this great content.

Finviz has a very nice sector bar graph.
hey are there any other stock screeners that allow you to filter by the 20 day moving average or 50 day moving average. Just as a backup screener. Appreciate your suggestion :))
Greetings from the UK, what kind of settings would be useful to screen the moves before/as they're going up, with these settings on the video you're buying at the top, ideally want to capture the lows before they move up?

It's so hard and exhausting to time this stuff though and these breakouts happen so fast to boot. In January when I was in Gamestop I barely slept for days waiting for the squeeze to happen and to withdraw at the right time, then when I withdrew funds, a few hours later I had to hurry up and put my money into AMC, and barely slept again because it started squeezing the very next day. Then after AMC it was NOK that started squeezing a few hours later. I think they just kept going on to wear everyone out until they gave up or passed out from exhaustion.
