- Hi, everyone. I’m Al Brooks. Thank you so much for your attention. I’m creating a series of videos on scalping. The first video is going to be about the rules for scalping, and then the other videos in the series will be about how to scalp. I hope that you find the material useful.

Sir I don't know how to thank you... it's been 6 years since I was constantly losing money and then a year back I found you and started trading the way you make logic for things now I scalp m1 chart all with ur rules and I make 400 to 600 usd daily by scalping for one point of gold... The only thing which is keeping me away from losses is my big account, no stops and low leverage.. I always scale in and and try not to get panic in situations where market make sudden moves and I add some risk at the point where others are existing their positions.. It's always nice to listen to someone whose voice carries the weight of experience, time and wisdom. The real risk in the market is the uncertainty of the future. The more uncertain the times, the riskier taking long term bets becomes. We are in a time when assuming the future will be like the past is foolish in the extreme. Scalping makes much more sense for times like these -- you need to think about the time exposed to the risk of some wacko blowing something up, or some crook being revealed as having scammed some big bank.
Nailed it!!! "beginners have an uncanny ability to exit a trade before it goes their way" Yup! Also me--> "okay, hold it because it will go your way, eventually." Nope, bc i either took a long position at the days high or short at the days bottom....ughh that darn Kill Zone!! LOL

You've done justice to this topic. Very informative. Meanwhile, I'm a long term investor. My wife and I have invested in the s&p500, both through my TSP with the government and through fidelity in her 401-k, Cashed out 370k from the S&P and invested with a full service broker. Until about 3years ago we were 100% in the s&p after over 30 years but I have diversified much more. I'm retiring at the end of the month at 61, while my wife will retire next year at 57. We currently have `1.7 million in out tex deferred savings.

Dr. Brooks, I just bought the three book series. It is dense difficult reading, but so useful, thoughtful and full of experience/wisdom. I was hooked when my opinion from experience matched your thinking on indicators and some "gurus". Thanks for this insightful information on scalping. I find a line chart priceless in making trends starkly vivid and candle charts for necessary details that enhance decision making on trades.

Another tip is that when scalping using really short time frames, its a good idea to use market orders instead of limit orders on stocks with high liquidity and low spread rather than losing time putting in a limit order and waiting for it to fill.

But stop order might not guarantee the order will be executed
@@activepeace2889 A stop limit order may not fill 100% of the time since price can flush below that level in volatile markets and fast water fall drops, but a stop market order will automatically fill at a trigger price once hit.
I use both market and limit. Limit orders are placed at key intraday levels. When I'm actively scalping its all market orders.

What u r saying answers so many questions and hyphotesis in my head. I especially appreciate the high win ratio, risk being more than reward, using stops to enter positions. This is counterintuitive to most of the easily available info. As I've done more scalping, i gavitated more towards what uve mentioned. Its good to have confirmation.

@@clebergomes995 Olá Cleber, que bacana, eu comecei pelos recaps do Aranha no canal dele, eles ajudam muito vc entender o que está nos livros, depois dos recaps eu comprei quando lançou o primeiro traduzido "tendências", já li ele duas vezes e estou lendo a terceira, sempre tem coisa nova que passa despercebido, ainda não comprei os outros. Ano passado fiz o curso do Aranha "Acelerando" pra quem tá lendo o livro, também serve muito bem porque vc aprende muito na prática o que tá lendo. Se eu puder te dar um conselho, é que leia com calma cada capítulo e tente aplicar no seu grafico cada tema ao final de cada um, pra fixar bem, leva tempo mas depois vc vai perceber que vai ficar natural a leitura das barras. At first I used really tight stops. I figured if I minimize my loss amount, that it's being conservative, and I will make a big trade every now and again. Didn't work, especially in crypto with volatility. Your positions are almost certainly going to be in the red at one point, in almost every position. Sure enough the market would often dip just below my limit sell then reverse. I figure that's because I'm doing what seems obvious, just like every other noob, and so that's where lots of orders are placed.
Now I do the opposite. I don't set stops really, I set up the trade so that the liquidation price is at a level that I consider extremely unlikely to hit. This takes some more courage... Sometimes my trades go deep in the red, but if I stick to my guns and analysis, not only do I hold it, I add to the position on the way down... Then when the market reverses, I exit below my entry and still profit, and if it's a strong reversal sometimes I make out quite nicely. Most trades fluctuate into red and green, but if you can confidently predict the overall flow and trend of the market, you just maintain your objective, and you will find a nice spot to sell. Nothing feels better than setting a stop deep into the profit. Anyway most of my trades now are successful, sometmes it takes longer to ride them out, and this ties up cash, but its way more profitable overall. Maybe it goes below, and I get screwed on one trade, but, I've made lots while it ranges. Sometimes I've even had to add margin to extend my liquidation price a couple times because of unexpected dips, so really you need a high ratio of capital vs trade allowance. I only use futures with 5% of portfolio at the very most, and trade fractions of that per position. It's ike poker, it's a lot easier when you are playing with more chips than the other players.
You gotta know the marrket too. I've been succesfull with crypto lately knowing that there is massive support at 18k btc. Maybe it dips below someday and I get screwed on a trade, but I've made a lot more while it has been ranging back forth over from 19-22. Also the fees are very low, so you can make small positions, and make high volume of trades without the fees being quite as high. Also there is a lot of inexperienced traders in crypto right now so pivot points are relatively easy to anticipate.
I totally agree with what you are saying. I started in trading in August 2017, and I bought in. I was up 5x by December only to watch that disappear quickly and then watch the original investment go down by about 85% during the ensuing 4 year bear market. I took the opportunity to accumulate more over the last 4 years which was hard to do and at the same time a smart thing to do. I wish I had bought more. I am in profit for now but I am planning on using my experience and what i have learnt from Mason Jianjun I have learned from you and other Youtubrs especially my mentor Mason Jianjun who taught me how to make trade and increase my crypto from 11 to 27btc that no one really knows what is going to happen in the markett ...

I think trading is so difficult because everyone's strategy is subjective. I think the best way to learn is to read books study the market and develop a strategy that works for you. As a beginner trader it sucks to hear that but unless you find a video that gives you the exact layout for how you want to trade than the info wont do a whole lot. For example, I am working in a scalping strategy and this video say never scalp for less than 10 cents in a stock . I would say that probably depends on the type of stocks you trade and what your fees are. I could successfully make a profit by scalping as little as 4 cents. But then again that depends on what my broker is charging me and how much shares I am working with. Im still behinner trader but kind of gave up on watching videos for tips I don't think you'll ever find like a video thats going to be an ahh ha moment.. I think just taking the info noting some of the kwybpoints but still feel youbhave to put it together on your own

Going into stocks I had this idea in my head, Do what the guy in the videos says and you'll make a ton of money off stocks. But I assure you it's harder than that. I've been making beginners mistakes and it been costing me. What steps did you take to learn? How have you been making money?
I put my figures out there to entice people but trust me it takes a lot for work to get those figures, though personally I don't work hard at my account myself, At the start of My trade journey I had a risk manager Mr Noud mika ( trade analyst ) handle me trades for me, came across him through a recommendation from his client, went through his qualifications and I just had to have a man like him take charge of my trades, noud through the EV and pharmaceutical surge and made a comfortable $500k off them. Since then his been at the helm of my trade affairs.

Successful scalping requires finding securities with low spreads. This limits the field of choices significantly. For example, a trader might identify a very useful indicator GBP/NZD, however, with a simple scalping strategy this might have to be discarded because the average spread on this pair is 4.4 pips. Essentially the problem here is that the client is limited to only a small number of currency pairs, which can lead to many missed opportunities. Hey Al- i think this is great perspective but i just slightly disagree with the last few seconds. You mentioned that you should not spend too much time on scalping but i would argue that it's time you need to become proficient at any skill, let alone scalping.
Swing trading is definitely an area where I would like to develop over time but in my opinion scalping is more enjoyable.
You are light years ahead of me in trading but i am bit reluctant to accept the case that scalping is not a career. Could you please elaborate?
He never said that. He said most traders end up being swing traders so if you scalp, have small position sizes and treat it as a hobby (ie game). He is speaking to most traders here.

Make sure you have a barber as your neighbor because you will lose a lot of your hair in the process. I bought his course 2 yrs ago and it is a challenging read, especially his books.
