This is the SARStock charity concert initiated by The Rolling Stones. Nice homage to the Stones by starting “Spirit” with “Paint it Black”. I bet Alex leaned to play it as a teenager. Not Geddy’s best day vocally but it was an appreciative half a million people in the audience in their home town. Rush played third from the end, before AC/DC and Rolling Stones.

Toronto Rocks was held after the end of the SARS epidemic in 2003 which hit Toronto very hard. 500,000 people paying around £10 to see a top billing of Rush, AC/DC and headliners The Rolling Stones (hence the Paint It Black intro!)!

They were. Every tour since 1976 for me except two. Most tours I went to multiple shows including their very last Toronto gig on the R40 run. That’s the show they released on DVD. The energy in that arena could have powered Texas this week!!
Actually its from the Permanent Waves album 4 years prior originally.. Just saying !! BTW You will be hard pushed to find a band that can perform to the technical ability of these guys , anywhere in the world today.. Grand masters of their trade..
