I had a DIEP Flap surgery a few months ago. Even though the surgery was a success, and my recovery has been painless and so easy, I wish I watched this video before the surgery so that I could ask my surgeon about this procedure.

How do we find a list of trained surgeons doing this procedure? I live in the Seattle area. Also, if you are not a candidate for robot assisted surgery due to anatomy, what then? Avoid DIEP? Minimize abdominal damage through other means?

Robotic assisted DIEP flap is not available at every facility nor are all surgeons trained to use it. To my knowledge it is not being done in the Seattle area... yet. If you are not a candidate for robotic assisted DIEP, there is no need to rule out the possibility. There are many who have had successful DIEP flap surgery without the assistance of robotic surgery.
