Cool to see it went well. I bought a g19 slide from Triarc before they went to only milling customer supplied slides. The slide isn’t retained by the ALS in my Safariland 6354 DO. Not a huge deal because that doesn’t affect appendix carry. But recently it stopped locking back reliably on empty mags. Looked at the slide stop shelf in the slide, and saw bare metal that was flaking off. I guess the metal there was softer than the slide stop. Triarc is being cool, and asked me to send in my whole gun rather than just the slide. Not sure I want my whole carry piece in jail for however long they keep it. I’m already on month 10 of waiting for an AR upper I ordered there. Anyways, its reassuring to hear that they treated you well in the end. I heard about you guys recently from MSP, and I’m hoping to come train soon. I’m near LA.
I went with Direct Milled Mount because of your video, and I went with C&H PW for the slide milling for the same reason. 3 weeks from my shipping out to the return of a perfect product.
Nice! Direct mount is always going to be better than using plates. I'm currently waiting to get my HK VP9 direct mount slide back from Delta Strategic for the 509T.
Dope. If you want a great plate that mates to MOS footprints, the CHPWS 509T to MOS plate is awesome. I have one on my gen5 17 mos and it works wonders.
We are aware of the CHPWS plates and they are usually great! However, currently CHPWS' QC is a little wonky. We've been seeing too many shooters with their plates having issues.
@@ravenwinglimited I mean I got one a few months back, and it’s been perfect for me. They have a great warranty/return program if you do end up having issues.
Probably the issues there is that the screw may not be tightened up properly thereby having an issues with the optics. But if you’d properly tightened it up with vc-3 on it and dried it properly trust me that optics will not be going anywhere.
@@ohenry4834 not talking about proper “screwing” badum tssssk We’ve seen a bunch of students with improperly made plates so they don’t mate up to the slide because there were slightly too large and also another student who had one that was slightly too small, and 2 bent plates. Holy shit that stainless slide is hot. 🥵🥵Is it the entire slide a brushed stainless, and then matte stainless on the debossed areas? Probably wouldn't look too out of place on your OD frame too.
When I hold down the minus button my 509 won't switch recticals, it just disappears and then when I hold it down again it reappears but won't switch out of the circle rectical. Can someone help?
did you ever figure it out? im thinking The 509T is a big headache to mount. and now I hear there might be issues with the reticles ? I think Im going to just get the RMR, SRO or the 508T.
@@joejeans7913 had to to send it in to holosun they gave me a brand new one. Yeah it can be a pain. I know for the new walther PDP you can get a plate specifically for the 509T. Hi Mr. Raven, Are those genuine Glock grip modules? seems the 509T is a big headache to mount. I think Im going to just get the RMR, SRO or the 508T. but Is that 509T really that good of an optic? being fully sealed, is it really worth it? this Accro type mounting system dont give many options. and also damn you shot 7-8K rounds during the biggest ammo shortage? I reload and I couldn't find even close to that many primers or components. are you a trainer?
Hey Joe! Yes! They are OEM Glock frames. The only headache I had with the 509T so far was dealing with Triarc Systems. I mention in the video that I sent a Glock 19 slide to Jagerwerks and received my slide back in about 2 weeks. I used the RMR for years, had two 508T's on my 17 and 19 that you see in this video, I sold all of them and bought 509T's to replace them. The 509T is the perfect optic FOR ME! Other people have different needs, budgets, or want different features. The 509T was everything I wanted in an optic. I got all the features that I loved from Holosun in an enclosed body with a 2 MOA size dot and a very long battery life. It has become my favorite red dot and until something better comes out, or Holosun creates a version 2 of the 509T, I will be purchasing 509T's for any new gun that I buy. Yes, I am an instructor, Raven Wing Limited is the company I own alongside my business partners. We were smart enough to buy a large amount of ammunition right before the lockdowns started here in California and we found a supplier that we purchased ammo from during the pandemic. - Ethan
@@ravenwinglimited awesome Ethan. Hey I just got a 509T off Amazon yesterday. after watching all these reviews sage dymaniocs video sealed the deal. WOW it was only $319 I was thinking that they were way more. and it showed up today. thats fast service. it has a RMR mounting plate fits right on my norsso slide. sits a little higher though than yours. CH precision saiid they have a mounting plate with better tolerances and thinner. so I ordered it also will get it and change out the stock adapter. so far I see why you like it. it all really depends on who is cutting it and their depth of cut. We prefer the irons sit at the bottom 1/4 of the window. We dont have a preference if maker as much as style of sit. Black serrated rear portion.
Yeah I’m glad I went with Jager over Triarc sounds like I saved myself a huge headache
