Personally, the Umbra is my favorite clan, I love messing around with Morsels and I really like using their cards that deal high damage with potential energy refund, that being Excavation Eruption and Mine Collapse
Fun to see how tier list will change as you get more experienced with the game. You can compare your champion tier list to Voyix + Dusk + Cranberry, or the other one with Nate/Gabriot/Narninian, etc. Voyix's group also ranked clan combinations. Sentient at D is very low. Hornbreaker Prince is very weak in DLC. Hellhorned is easily the best clan, is very hard to miss on scaling with it. Awoken clan cards are actually quite weak and saved primarily by the excellent banner units. Miss on those and Razorsharp, and it's a bad time.
Idk man, I had success with Tethys using the spell weakness path. Dealing 6000+ damage to a boss with a single attuned spell is a lot of fun, tho I will agree that he is very hard to play and his other paths suck completely. Despite that he is still a lot of fun and ppl should try him if they have a fetish for big numbers
My experience with monster train is 60+ hours rn. I’ve played slay the spire and etc, but monster train has been the best play for me at the moment. My favorite thing about MT is that it’s run length is just right. My average run is between an hour to two hours at this point so it’s enough to test my own skill, but not enough to overthink the living f out of all of it.
You've got to be kidding!? My average successful run time is about 20 minutes. Okay that's on fastest speed but even on slowest speed it's no more than 30-35 minutes. What the hell are you doing for 2 hours??
@markysumm72 sometimes you just gotta soak in the lore, out of all of the roguelikes I've played MT has my favorite lore, everything from the flavor text of relics/cards to the random cave events, it's so cool
For me, the second champion of penumbra is the best. At first it feels a little weird using your champion as food, but once you get the abilitity to pass buffs to other units this champion is a GOAT. On my last playthrough I reach a summon with almost 100 damage shield thanks to this champion and a card "gives X damage shield" spammed on him. Hilarious. Tier S for me. The first champion on melting remnant clan are so OP too. It was my first complete run (beating the real final boss). +200 dmg and hp and the ability of the faction to revive units are super powerful. Fight a boss in the first floor, then summon it in the next floor, then the next, etc. For me is a Tier A at least. The awaken clan are more useful as ally than any other faction, but as a main clan this faction is very average. The first champion of stygian guard are undervalued. His ability to frostbite bosses are unvaluable, if you have solid units tanking the damage is very easy to debuff a boss with +600 damage/turn, which is amazing. But you need good combos with other stygian units. I think tier F is very low, but it deserves at least B. These are my thougths about the clans. I enjoyed the video very much nonetheless. Is interesting how you rate all the champions. Good luck with the channel.
Thanks, I think both are excellent titles and I like different aspects of each. For me personally I'd rate the deck building of Slay the Spire higher, but the gameplay of Monster Train is better.
i think the problem with monster train is it is too consistent in deck building and events, that may be a good thing for many people. I loved it at the beginning, but after a while it got really old and i missed a bit of rng. i would say my WR in StS is like 30% but my winrate on MT is around 80% which is insane for a roguelite
Little fate!! I was so hesitant using her in the esrly game….but once I figured out she WANTS to die!!! Good lord, just gnaws through bosses, if you get lucky & kill her every chance.
I thought he'd be some sort of a crazy combo enabler, but he's too niche and not practical enough. Other champions offer more utility, scaling and potential to carry runs on their own, without highrolling specific trinkets and shop purchases.

I can't believe we've both had completely different experiences with these champions lol.

Good video 😊 60 hours in the game and still learning! Slay the Spire is great (9/10) ... but this game is better.. for me 10/10

@@user-ux3jp9oo7r also it is muuuuch easier to do crazy overpowered cards and strategies.
Primordium at the same rank as Prince and Shardtail!? No, something is very wrong here.

tethys is f tier *won first run with tethys*

Too squishy to be consistent in high covenant. One sweep would whoop Tethys to ground.
