6:00 just had a C25 run with Apex Imp where I saw no Armor cards except for a single Armored Imp, so I put Endless on it, found a Transcendimp, put Endless on it as well, then duped a Holdover Razorsharp Edge just to repeatedly kill these 2 over and over again to give Apex Imp armor. Ended up killing Divinity with a 3202x2 Apex Imp. This game is ridiculous.
how is awoken railspike in such a low tier? that's like a snap click on basically any run furnace tap makes a unit fragile, which doesn't matter with either good armor scaling or damage shield, 3 out of the 6 clans have access to these mechanisms, it's one of 2 cards (the other being trample stone) that can solve damage output completely, and it's F tier? it's not a win-more card like trample stone, sure, but it's made me win runs that I'd otherwise not beat divinity with
abt cave in: i tried cranberry idea. it doesn't work 'cos you are investing 1 card slot, +15 divinity shards for the -2 ember, you have to find holdover and, with luck, drop cage. with all of this by turn 3 in the divinity (4 units per turn) the bottom floor is full so 1 unit goes up after that 4 units go up regardless, except the miniboss wave. your total gain is 2 more turns for scaling maybe the units are dazed. siren song w/ less investment does way way more.
Intrinsic channelsong + cheater's hand has done work for me. It's also fine sometimes intrinsic without the hand to get multiple banner units out quicker. I played a run this morning where I gave spreading spores two -1s then duped it. The spikes helped protect my heph against multistriking enemies and the bit of extra regen was good. It let me thin my deck vs diligent too. It also has a niche use with split anvil where you can add 0 cost copies to the discard pile. For that I had doublestack -1 and put holdover on an ice tornado. The use case for cuttlehex is storing spells in your hand, using spell damage or spell weakness, and either split anvil or the relic that makes permafrosts in your hand reduce to zero at end of turn. The strategy was to spend each turn preparing for next turn sort of? I only had to try doing that sort of thing once, it ended up falling short on seraph iirc because my relentless was weak and I didn't damage him enough through the waves, but maybe if I had to try it again I would build for it better. He's for sure an atrociously bad card, but he isn't without a use case. I think even if ember forge gave immunity to emberdrain he would be pickable, maybe even good. I'll have to listen to the rest some other time! Must have been a rough video to record when it took so long for me to get around to watching it, cheers.
My legion of wax story is putting a fledgling imp onto a tiny stone legion and using him to give massive aoe rage to the floor. He has his highs and lows for sure. I have had spikedrivers with hallowed halls go pretty nuts. As you and cranberry said, sometimes you just need a unit that says multistrike to take stats, and with nine of them in my deck it was super easy to fill multiple floors with them regardless of no draw priority.
Channelsong usually useless but sometimes very good, clearly no on par with the rest of the F tier, easily D tier. Almost never take it but its good when its good. For example the cheaters hand thing you mentioned, also if you are just running a weird many unit build like spikedriver colony
