Thanks so much for this whole video! I loved it. So many features and topics and places and people! Love your place. THe decorating is getting awesome. Thanks for the Optometry Shop tour and introducing Nick. Kat (sp?) is truly beautiful! I love her computer's "fishing" decal. Very fun! DCMarket looks like a fun place to lunch! I've only been to Rome and Venice, of the several cities. Rome: Definitely Vatican & St. Peters (if you can get tickets through a guided-tour agency, etc, you may be able to bypass the long lines-- well-worth it!). Palatine Hill, Coliseum tour, and self-guided walking tour of those near-by ruins (arches, forum, etc). Get a Fodor's Italy guide and read up before you arrive/while you travel between. In Venice, St. Marks & its Plaza. See the city from water (Grand canal) lets you see/appreciate more in less time. Visit a glassworks. Don't be afraid to venture off the main canals and markets into the nearby neighborhoods and minor canals. Other churches and local markets can be wonderful! Doing that midday, you can find yourself at a noon concert, or a less-crowded deli. Rick Steves' books, guides and websites are really valuable for that sort of thing too.
Thanks for showing us your clinic. BTW, I drove through Jonesboro last week and thought of you. Enjoy your time in NY. I am looking forward to seeing your vlogs of Europe.
Neat video....thanks.....glad to see Arbor again. Your European trip sounds wonderful. I always think it is great when you can travel abroad and learn about others and their history. Take care!
Your trip sounds fantastic. Safe travels to you and Kip. I follow you both so can't wait to see your vlogs as you make your way through Europe. Take care ❤
I didn't realized you'd finished school. That's sooooo awesome. I loved my Target optometrist when I was in Mpls. Thx for the tour. Vlogs from Europe will be amazing. Have so much fun!!
Andrew I do hope this finds you well and happy. You are one of my favorite TH-camrs, of whom I find of great interest. You made something of yourself, as this video points out you took your time to figure your chosen life. And you have given others an opportunity to reach out and make something of themselves. Keep on learning! PEACE!
Definitely go to the Forum and Colosseum (one ticket for both.) The antiquity will blow your mind. A quirky and rewarding visit to Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris. Get a guide book at the cemetery (free) and find the graves of famous French people (also Jim Morrison.) You should spend four or five days in Paris...there is so much to see and do. Also you can take us bus charter to Versailles with bus, entrance and audio guide. Breathtaking. Have a great time...oh....and have pasta every meal in Rome.
You are looking great Andrew love the condo its looking good, Can't wait to see the Europe blog!!! Love Denver Central market I wish I was closer to go shopping in Denver more often!!!
Hey Andrew, greetings from Austin, Texas. For some reason, this video was right on time. After working in different fields for a variety of companies since I graduated college four years ago, I decided at the end of last year that I wanted to go back to school to be a pharmacist. It's a big decision; one that I am pretty self conscious about, if I'm honest. My BA is in english lit, so there is a lot of work I need to do before I can even apply for a doctorate program. I was kind of hoping when I told my parents that they would laugh or try and discourage me in some way, although as tough and honest as they are, they have always been super supportive in anything I do. My sister has been helping me out a lot. She was the first family member I told, and she has a doctorate too so she's helping me figure out what exactly I need to do to prepare for grad school. I decided to take a couple classes, to dip a toe back into the academia pool, especially since I'm still working full time. Today I was feeling overwhelmed. I had a long to-do list full of things I did not bother to take care of, and the reality of what it will take to finish pharm school hit me hard. The fact that I'll have to find a new job soon because the one I have now IS NOT conducive with the life a student, the lifestyle changes Ill have to make, the fact the school in my city has a minuscule acceptance rate and is tied for 3rd best program in the country (hook em'), the money, THE MONEY! Personally I just wanted to stay in bed all day and have a three-way with my boys Jack and Jose. But after coming across this video and watching it, and I can't give a definite reason why, I felt better. I felt like as daunting as this process is, that it was not impossible. So thanks for the video, and I hope you have a blast in Europe. I also hope you enjoy Colorado, it's an awesome state! (Although I was born, raised and did my undergrad there, so I'm bias.)
If you can slip up to Pisa and see the Leaning Tower and the church, they are beautiful. I've been there many times. The ship I was on went to Italy constantly, so I got to see both North and South Italy a lot.
Hey Andrew,I liked your video Thanks for showing us your office.Your trip to Europe sounds awesome just enjoy every minute of it.Take care,I always enjoying seeing you,bye for now!
love your DIY pallet shelves! i just recently made two and im so happy with how they turned out! i like you house decor its pretty cool haha. love your videos :)
Oh, you're going to Interlaken? That's awesome. Make sure to go to Lauterbrunnen while you are there. It's in a valley full of waterfalls, and it is a beautiful place to hike. It is very close to Interlaken, just a short train ride.
Hey, Andrew, I was in Europe last summer for the first time. Paris was amazing, 2 days is a very short time but if you like art you should go to the Louvre. You will be left stunned. Have fun and be safe. I look forward to your European vlogs. Cheers
Omg Andrew! In Venice, besides visiting the touristy places, take a gondola on the Gran Canale and visit the Basilica dei Frari. In Rome you should definitely see all the different churches and tour the Vatican Museums. Also, Rome is really chaotic in the weekend, you should try and go Monday-Thursday if you can. Source: I'm Italian lol. Good luck and enjoy your trip!!
Hi Andrew. My husband and I just returned from France. Make sure you check out the loire region chateau Amboise to Blois. Flower show at Le Chateau de Chaumont-sur-loire is fantastic ans in full bloom. Enjoy the wines i recommend Chinon Val De Loire. I hope both of you boys have so much fun and adventure. bon voyage!!!
Andrew, could you speak on your experience within medical school and your application process? Currently prepping for this upcoming cycle, and I was wondering what advice you had. Thanks!
Get a Eurail Pass before you go over there. Nowadays there is High Speed rail in many different countries but remember to reserve. No reservations on regular trains needed. (Inter Continental, Deutch Bahn, SNCF, SNCB, etc. There are also overnight trains. If flying, use Ryan Air. You can also rent a car at any time although be aware they have camera lights and speed traps just like in this country. I think museums are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Also, think about getting a Travelex credit card in case your regular credit card does not work in some places. Do not get Euro bills larger than 100 as stores will not accept anything larger than that, in many cases. If you need to exchange some Dollars for Euros, do so in a place that is not close to any tourist spots as you will get much better rates. You can us skype or google voice on you smart phone via a hot spot if you need to call the states. For rooms in Paris, check out ParisAttitude.otherwise, think about using Ebab - it is 100% gay. And most importantly, plan on going back at some point in your life!!!!!
Hey Andrew - Good advice about choosing a profession. Hope you have nice and safe upcoming travels! I will be going to some of the places you mentioned as well, in July 2017, including France (Paris), Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, Ibiza), and Italy (Venice). I'll say hello if we cross paths. My trip will also include Malta, Greece, Croatia, and Slovenia.
hey i'm kind of new on your channel, and i just watch your coming out videos, hope that i have such an awesome family like you had, you are a lucky guy, wish i can do that but i can't.
When I am traveling, I try to pick our one thing to get and enjoy at each place. There was the pan au chocolate trip, the red wine trip, the original art trip. You get the drift. I suggest the high calorie option while you still have a metabolism. hahah
My advice for Venice is to give yourself some time to just walk around. Explore the neighborhood side streets and get off the main touristy streets. I found it extremely difficult to get lost and kept ending up where I started. Most of all, just take the time to enjoy where you are. I found Venice to be one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.
I love how your videos are a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Very cool. Have a grand time in Europe. I have never been, but my Husband has many times and he raves about all the incredible food and coffee and people in Italy. I know you will find the same. Best of luck, and thanks for taking us along.
So happy for you, it's still kinda weird in a good way to see Dr Neighbors on your name tag. We all just know you as Andrew. It's cool to see where you work. It gives me a different kind of respect for you.
I'm hooked on you! Great optometry talk and tour! I love your focus, dedication , and just the way you think!. Just wish I lived near you. Would really like to know you personally.
When you're in Madrid, got to chocolateria san gines, its know for the best churros in Madrid. Its fairly cheap and its opened 24 hours! Also, go to el Tigre in Chueca, they have 6 euro drinks and they come with tapas!
ok, I was not yet at the point where you say you're an optometrist, so I guess it's something to do with your profession. :) Sorry for my broken english.
Andrew when in Italy you have to stop in Florence! I loved Rome and Venice but Florence was my favorite. PS be ready to blast your glutes when there. Enjoy, and if ever in Dubai/Abu Dhabi say hi!!!
My eyes are always running and the lids itchy I am taking Alaway do you think I need to get a stronger prescription and I am taking Allera . I do live in Michigan and there is a lot of pollen.
what is your opinion on the cost of eye exam eye glasses and how many people do you think are aware that most frame are made by one company in Italy. at a two hundred dollars mark-up. I like. American best they have the best deal.
Can wait you are in Europe! I hope we met in Paris BECAUSE I LIVE IN! Call me if you need some advice or good place to eat or anything else! Have a nice trip!
Hey, on your way down to Spain, stop off in the Ardeche, south of France 🇫🇷 and I will show you guys a little bit of beautiful France. Do it come see me. You guys will love the Ardeche.
Dr. Andrew Neighbors, you have your dodo together. Your life looks so perfect. I'd be jealous if I were the jealous type. As for professions, my cousin's son had trouble finding his path in life when he was a young man and then he went to a trade school and learned to be a CAD operator. He's been at it for over twenty years now and makes mucho bucks and loves his job. He gets to travel all over the world too. You didn't mention that you make enough money to be ashamed to mention it. You worked hard so I'm not suggesting you should be ashamed of ANYTHING. I'd really like to have lunch with you some day to see if you're in IRL like your screen self. Great video as always. Cheers.
There is never a video you have that I would give a thumbs down. Actually, I'm glad you mentioned the backpack. I wanted to ask. Would you make a video on what you're bringing to your backpacking/Europe Trip? Like I'm doing my work and holiday visa in Australia in the fall. It's my first time traveling overseas and it would be cool to get some traveling tips for people going overseas and whatnot. :)
as a glasses/spectacle wearer for over 40 years i have always found optometry an interesting subject and always wanted to get into that line of work myself but circumstances meant that i didn't follow that path. for those who don't have to wear glasses it can be hard to understand just how much a part of your personality they are , i literally feel naked without my glasses (i don't do contact lenses due to the cost as my prescription is a complicated one plus i prefer my glasses).
Very cool story. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy Europe.

While in Paris I always tell people to not miss Versailles...it is amazing! Only a 30 minute train ride outside the city. Enjoy your trip!
I always enjoy your videos so much because they inspire me! :)
Neat video....thanks.....glad to see Arbor again. Your European trip sounds wonderful. I always think it is great when you can travel abroad and learn about others and their history. Take care!

Who's taking care of arbor when ur on a trip?
My optometrist has the patience of a saint. It took my optometrist over an hour to try and get me to put my contacts in for the first time.
I think it's will be very nice and interting travel.
My eyes are always running and the lids itchy I am taking Alaway do you think I need to get a stronger prescription and I am taking Allera . I do live in Michigan and there is a lot of pollen.

Question: Are polarized sunglasses worth the extra expense? I am not sure I notice the difference.
lol "Oh yeah aisle six" 😂😂😂
There is never a video you have that I would give a thumbs down.

hi Andrew I know it's rare and random but as an optometrist I'd like to ask.. is it true that tooth removing could cause blindness?!
You are so good looking! I commend you on preservering through optometry school
You definitely need to see about collaborating with Cole Ledford in New York.
Andrew, you're great.
As much as I love talking about IOP and glaucoma :P, I'm glad I am not an optometrist. But I love what I do in the health professions too 😁
I have seething eyes, a green ring so dark and cool that my iris looks like flames.
hey! we have the same backpack 😊
i am italian and i live near venire. it's the most characteristic little town in italy
