Thank you. My desk is full of keyboards and synths. I need a trackball. I enjoyed the 570 for years but noticed a problem in Windows 11: if you click while touching the marble, the click sometimes fail to register. The 575 does not have this problem. It seems more fluent and precise. It works well with the (unbeatable) K400+.
@Rouge Minette thanks for your comment. I have been loving my 575 especially the extra buttons that I programed to help out when using Adobe Premiere Elements.
Thanks for the trackballs review...I consider to have a trackball for my convectional mice replacement, the choice either Elecom EX-G (not Pro) or Logitech M575 (both are budget trackball)...In term of the ball accuracy and comfort for long time usage, let say I use mice approx..5 or 6 hours a day. Which one will you suggest? Thank you..
Well, I am not familiar with the Elecom model so I can't really weigh in on that. I know that I can use my Logitech for hours on with almost no discomfort.
@@AroundTheHome1 ok. Thank you for the suggestion.. Another question, how about the logitech trackball clicker durability? Since I had bad experience with Logitech mices, from the conventional mice, Trackman Marble and Trackman Wheel. All of them, the clicker gone loose after 1-1½ year usage. Speaking frankly, since that, I never look back for Logitech's mice again. So far what is the condition of your trackball M575 clicker after several months usage? Ps : I used those Logitechs normally. Never click too hard..
@@AroundTheHome1 No, I mean the left and right clickers. when I clicked it once, it gone loose to double clicked itself (All Logitech mices that I ever used as mentioned in previous chat) . I see in comment, other users experience it too. Now I use Microsoft mice and runs almost 5 years, it still feel nice and no double click issue like Logitech's.
The M575 has been doing for me. www.amazon.com/Logitech-Trackball-Precision-Ergonomic-Bluetooth/dp/B0877DK2FL?crid=36FHYAQESB82U&keywords=logitech%2Bm575&qid=1660397405&sprefix=logitech%2Bm575%2Caps%2C108&sr=8-3&th=1&linkCode=ll1&tag=greatwhitenin-20&linkId=3c9e8bf8048461859f57ef5b6294d9ca&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl
The biggest difference is the way the ball is suspended. The M570 ball rolls on three nylon points. When it's barnd new, you don't feel much, but, as soon as they start to wear down, the drag begins. Eventually, they wear down to the point as which the ball is no longer aligned well with the sensor, and it starts to go wrong. My new M575 arrived today, and I could feel the difference immediately, because the ball is suspended on bearings. No friction, just smooth rolling. And I suspect the bearings will last longer than the nylon points.
Thanks for commenting this. Place I usually shop for IT stuff has older M570 on stock and is going to get newer model in near future. I was going to get older model, but decided to check out if there's some features changed that aren't visible. Reading this, I'll order newer and wait for it to arrive.
I've been using the M570 for at least a decade. I break out in a rash when I'm forced to use a mouse. I have zero need for BluTooth! With the M570 now discontinued, and one of mine showing problems, I figured I'd stock up. I already had three in stock. On Amazon, I noted the M575 and then set out to find out if the 'upgrade' was for me. Apparently not. Certainly not if it's even a dollar more. You and Jim Greene mention the ball's motion getting stiff with use, a problem I've never experienced. My M570s have had switch problems, causing double clicks. I guess they last around 2-years each the way I use them. One Amazon reviewer said he's using the blue M570 ball in his M575 and liked the results. Maybe I'll try one, and order two more M570s while they're still available. It's nice to know that when my last one bites the dust (a decade or so from now), there should be something pretty similar available. Thank you for answering some questions for me. M570 it is.
Thank you for the reply! I don't care for blue tooth either! I recently found out about the m575 trackball! I wondered if the blue ball from the m970 (just about a die-hard fan!) Could be swapped, as I like the black & blue color combo! I wish the m970 had a more true black color, & not the smokey grey. Thanks for the good product info! The m575, does it have the USB plug-in transmitter? I am considering purchasing one
I hope you still read this: Don't buy the same mouse 10 times and don't throw them away either! The click-problem is very common on every logitech mouse, because they always cheap out on the switches, even on the $150 mice. This can be very easily fixed with a soldering iron and two new switches. The switches are really cheap and if you don't have the soldering gear, you can lend it from someone you know or you can get it done in a computer repair shop for example. Any mechanical microswitch will work fine, you just have to find one that feels and sounds the way you like.
@Kai's nest well it just so happens that I still have my older m570. I took the ball out and it does fit and work in the m575. Though there is some smoothness lost. Sorry you lost the ball, but I hope this helps. I didn't even know there were replacement balls.
Not worried about blue tooth! Does the m575 still have the small USB transmitter? Thank you for the comparison! Been using the m970 for a long time! I wish the mouse body was a more true black color, & not the smokey grey!
Yes, yes it does. That part has not changed. It is the same Logitech Transmitter that you are used to and you can still add devices to it. 👍 So glad to help! Thank you for watching. Check out hundreds more of our videos at www.aroundthehome.org
Thanks for the video. I’m curious about the physical size comparison between the two models. I need to replace my 570 because the double-click is starting. I bought another brand that was supposed to be similar to the 575. The mouse showed up and within 15 minutes I could tell it wasn’t the right size for my hand. I compared it to my 570 and the body of the replacement is taller and wider. I didn’t even think to look at that detail. I’m sending it back but wondering if the 575 would have the same issue (bigger). Thanks again!
That's a good question. I don't have my old 570 to double check, but I believe they were the same size. I don't remember that being something that changed.
Dude! as per your amazon links, my tried and true M570 is priced at a whopping $74.95! Your link to the M575 shows the price at $48.99 - nowhere have I found an M570 for anywhere close to $30. Hasn't the M570 been discontinued? I'm hoping to find a black friday deal on either one of these two mice
I had to check that out for myself. I didn't realize that the M570 has gone up in price. I think that is was discontinued and now the price is going up as stock is dwindling. It definitely was not $75 when I made this video. And that was the best price on Amazon. I found some M570 for $80 and $86. I just can't even.
So now it looks as if I'll either stick with the devil I know and get the M575(40bucks on ebay right now!) or take a chance on a Perixx or Elecom ex-g. Perixx has a 517 and a 717 model i'm reading up on now.....may buy both! Thanks for replying and great comparison review btw!
You are welcome. There is also this M575 from Amazon. Now it is not sold by Amazon, but it does ship from Amazon and has Prime shipping and returns. 02:20 you dont fully know the issue.. there are different kind of switches, which wear out at different speeds. logitech has cut corners in that department, the switches used in m570 and m575 wear out within 6-12 months, making them unusable afterwards, due to doubleclicking or no clicking at all, when you simply click it once. its a d*** move from logitech, they are basically trying to force increase sales. completely unethical behavior, maybe good for business, but only shortterm, longterm your customers will no longer trust you. most people desolder the switches and put omron switches into it. thats what i did. ordered myself 2 highest quality switches, with roughly 50 mil click lifespan... the trackball is otherwise phenomenal. the updated version is a scam.. its basically the same mouse. dont waste your money, get the first version and mod it yourself!

Try spraying a little contact cleaner on the switches of the M570. It seems to have fixed the double click issue for me, at least for now.
I know this video is about mouses, but does your monitor flicker? That is bad for your eyes.
Nope, but it does in videos because of the frame rate.
How did the toilet rebuild go?
It went good. Thanks.

Both use the cheap Omron switches. Logitech cheapened out on these switches again.
Expect the double-click issue on the new M575.
Know I don't know exactly what switches that are in here, but I have had no double-click issues with either.
