This build brought me to tears. My father-in-law, who’s no longer with us, was a three war combat pilot and retired as a full Colonel. He flew the Mustang in WWII and in Korea. Again, a beautiful build my friend, just beautiful. Here’s to you dad.
I felt the same way when I did my first build in 40 years. I started with a Sherman M3 tank like the one my father drove down the Scheld and into Holland.
I'm 56 . When i was a kid, Model making kits as a hobby was king. There was a model kit shop on every corner. I loved the smell of the plastic opening a box. Great Days
Anj Kovo me to, I am also 56 and know exactly what you mean, even the small town I lived in had a model/toy shop, but the owner was a great guy and was always happy to help with advice and assistance. Fantastic days.
@@allandavis8201 Lovely sentiments. I used to save up my pocket money and when i had enough i'd run to the model shop and also the owner was a great guy with enthusiasm in helping me pick out a great kit and the paints i needed. Like you say FANTASTIC DAYS
49 here and recently rediscovered modelling. We’ve a great shop in Galway, the owner is a wonderful guy that can source all our products. I’m a lot more patient with them now though! 😂
I’m 13 and pretty new to the hobby just sad I have to drive an hour to go to a hobby shop

Not really. Nothing more boring than watching someone build a model kit.
WOW! So happy to see these NEW TOOL kits that Revell is bringing to market. Fantastic detail, and all at a great price. At age 60, when I was a kid, Revell and Monogram were the main suppliers of model kits. Competition came to market a few decades ago with brand new state of the art model casting tools and with the older molds Revell had they seemed to fall behind in comparison. While I have no official sourcing, it's easy to recognize that Revell is BACK!!! And lets face it, Dusan's modeling skills are top shelf, museum quality works of art. I've learned a lot from him over the last few years.
Revell kits have come a real long way since the 70s! Nice job.
Excellent model! Not having been fine scale modeling for many years, I was totally stunned to see this new piece. Excellent fit, contouring, and plastic canopy impressive. Thank God Revell came in with new models. Saves the industry. My grandson will enjoy and appreciate this one.

Left this behind 20 years ago, saw your videos and finally coming back. Starting with this same model in 2020. Ordered a different set of decals for another squadron. You did a wonderful process from start to finish which gives me a guide on how to begin. Nice detail work on that Revell P-51D .

Nice job! What a great model. Years ago in the ‘80s, I built an equivalent Hasegawa 1/32 kit of the P-51D. It was a later version with the fin fillet at the base of the tail. This Revell kit is just as equally impressive! I like the markings of the 357nd Fighter Group. 👍
Bloody hell, that Eduard instrument panel was bloody nice.
So rad the way the tires came out after you "wore" the tread. Brilliant.
I pick up coffee stirrers from coffee shops when I'm in for painting the smaller parts. This looks like another nice model Revell have brought out recently.
Great video as always. Love how you stay positive even when the kit has problems unlike other reviewers who just bash kits for the sake of bashing kits. They are model kits, work around the problems.
Revell had two other kits in 1/32 scale . The P-51B and the P-51C with the Malcolm hood . Mostly used by the RAF and the RCAF . The 2nd Tactical Airforce , late 1943 to 1945/1946 . Thank you .

I bet this Mustang is up there with Zoukei-Mura detail level..(and not too expensive) I bought mine at $130, but now, watching this Revell review, I feel I gotta get this one...looks so good!

I had built this Mustang too and it's a real great kit. Not to compare with the expensive new Tamiya kit, but a good value for the money.
Koja si ti bratina, svaka ti čast ! Pravo je uživanje gledati tvoje klipove, ja ne moram ni da maketarim kada odgledam ovo, kao da sam ja uradio jednu maketu. Drago mi je što si maketar "sam za sebe", ja sam pobegao sa svih domaćih foruma ( vidim da si i ti uradio isto ) od silnih svađa,separatisanja i prepiranja, ispao si najpametniji. Ne sećam se da sam posetio ijedno maketarsko takmičenje u proteklih 3 godine, upravo zbog svega toga, videsmo se zadnji put na "Dunavu 1255" 2015-te a i moje viđanje sa maketama, takmičarskim. Tužno je ali je tako. Dule, živ bio 100 godina i napravio još 1000 ovakvih klipova, snimaj dokle god možeš. Vidi se da je dobar alat i boje 80% posla, nema šta... !

I am really loving these new Revell kits. I built their new Leopard 1 1:35 scale kit and it is so good.
I am in the early stages of building a 1/32 P51-D from Hasagawa, I was going to get the revel version but decided the Hasagawa was more affordable, it’s a great kit, although pin ejector marks are a bit to big and pronounced and so are taking a bit of extra time and work to get rid off, the engine detailing is good, but again has some minor issues with seems and pin marks. Oh well just gives me an excuse to do more model making.
A far cry from the Revell kits of the 70s! Bravo, great build. I need to get one and mabey some aftermarket decals, I don't like to build what came in the box that most people have seen.

@@ScaleModelAircraft Cool video, relaxing in a way, but being honest, i prefer Diecast models, or Level 1 Model Kits.
Both the P-47 and the 51 suffered from tail flutter after the "Razorbacks" were removed, but all was corrected with the 47 after adding the dorsal section. 51 still suffered with wing and structure problems through out the war. The problem was so bad in the Pacific that a B-29 was required to help the 51 groups navigate around the heavy weather and lead them to their escort duties. Nothing of the sort was required with P-47 FG's. Always a pleasure watching you detail paint. Nice! You got the wood floor! So many people do not know the pit floor is wood. I like the repainted IP! Excellent build Dusan! Perfect amount of weathering and war weary stress. Congrats!

Yes, Once 51's were at strength a new category was added to the groups concerning maintenance - Structure failure. The wings are bolted to the airframe and not part of it. Which is a weakness. Mustangs were not completing their combat hours before being retired as "War weary" and sent back to third shop for new wings. Col. Zemke, while flying home from a mission entered a small storm over Germany and had his wings ripped off. No one learned of this until he was liberated from the Stalag Luft. camp. USAAF stopped flying 51's over the "Hump" in the CBU due to losses. Only when a few pilots survived after bailouts were the commanders made aware of the situation. The strong mountain winds were causing pilots to lose control, and then wings. When Gen. LeMay {future leader of SAC} took over 8th AF in Europe he got rid of the 51's and kept the 47's due to this issue, plus the 47's could carry more, less maintenance, and flew faster with the later model R-2800's. He had all D-30's and later overhauled and updated to carry the latest HVAR's. Even the Mustangs greatest gift "Range" was actually met {47's were over Berlin first} and then surpassed by the 47. The "N" model {serving only in the PTO} had a longer range, heavier weapons load, and is faster than the 51. People just believe the propaganda. Like the old pilot saying goes, "Want to impress your girlfriend have your picture taken in front of a Mustang, want to let your parents know you're safe, have your picture taken in front of a Thunderbolt.

Have one of these in the stash. Great kit, and very reasonably priced in the US. Only wish they had offered a choice of tails instead of a future release with the fillet. I really want to build an air racer, possibly Clay Lacy's #64, the black/yellow Bardahl #49, or clipped wing Hi Time II, and all of those had the tail fillet.

Colonel Thomas Christian was killed in this plane on 12 August 1944. It was the 4th plane he named for his infant daughter, Lou Ellen, whom he never saw. Christian actually had flown B-17s in the PTO before transitioning to fighters, being listed as MIA over the Pacific but ended up returning to friendly lines.
Met her in Bottisham Cambridgeshire a few years ago when she visited her fathers old base to open a new road named after him,she sadly died of cancer later.

Vielen herzlichen Dank für Ihre sehr wertvollen Videos. Das sind mir sehr lehrreich. Ich habe bei Ihrer Erklärung oben bemerkt, dass Sie Deutsch können. Deswegen schreibe ich nun auch auf Deutsch. Wie ich bei Ihren anderen Videos erwähnt habe, sehe ich hier in Japan kaum die Farben von Revell Acrylic paints oder allgemein die Farben von Revell. Deswegen sind ihre Videos für mich außergewöhnlich interessant. Manche Modeller in Japan benutzen lieber lucquer paints z.B. von Mr. Hobby, Gaiacolor oder Tamiya lucquer color in der letzten Zeit. Nur wenige professionelle Modeller benutzen Acrylic oder enamel paints mit dem Airbrush, finde ich.
Ich mag auch sehr diesen Mustang. Sehr schönes Flugzeug, obwohl es in Japan, wie in Deutschland, ziemlich oft mit dem B-29 viele Städte bombardierte.

Weren't they later production Ds with the fin fillet? This kit's of the D-5.
I finished this Mustang Kit with aftermarket decals "Passion Wagon" G4*A, imho one of the nicest looking Mustangs.
Agreed Justyn, but there are MANY aftermarket sheets in both 1/48 and 1/32 for many other 357th a/c! I must say that I plan on doing on of my 1/32 D's as Old Crow in olive drab.

A very enjoyable video. Revell look like they have produced a nice kit as an alternative to the Tamiya one. Hopefully they’ll do the B model next 🤞

Used to use the citrus scented glue, the regular glue and Pactra paints. Never wore gloves. Made 1/35 ww2 tank dioramas with bombed out houses, shrubs, rubble and German tanks.
That came out beautiful nice job.
