- ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ನಾಟಕಕಾರ ಗಿರೀಶ್ ಕಾರ್ನಾಡ್ ಬಹಳ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ನಂತರ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ವಸ್ತುವನ್ನಾಧರಿಸಿದ ನಾಟಕವನ್ನು ಬರೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹೆಸರು, ‘ರಾಕ್ಷಸ ತಂಗಡಿ.’ ಈ ನಾಟಕ ಬರೆಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಯಾದ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳು, ಬರವಣಿಗೆಯ ಅನುಭವಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಈ ಎರಡನೆಯ ಕಂತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ‘ದಿ ಸ್ಟೇಟ್‌’ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Dr. Girish Karnad Ji, a true patron of Indian history, was a great Kannada Dramatist from Dharwad,North Karnataka and passionate Playwrite.
His superb plays Tugalaque, Hayavadana, Yayati Taledanda in Kannada were staged at National School of Drama, Mumbai

Karnad is a person.. Who is like man of his words. S lot of us have thinking differences with his ideology. But atlast he stood as the person of strict follower of the cult that he was following. Gr8 human being with some backdrops.

Why should his soul RIP? He was a leftist and a caustic anti Hindu. Regarding Tipu, he threw a challenge to disprove his writing on him, and when Bhyrappa took up the challenge, Karnad ran away from the challenge.

A pity that he ended up being just a petty critic of Hindu traditions and rituals without understanding their true purpose or meaning. And pettiness was given birth through loyalty to some unscrupulous political masters and anti- Hindu establishment that showered him with false praise and felicitations like asking him to inaugurate Mysore Dasara, imagine an anti- Hindu inaugarating a traditional ritual against which he prides writing ! He will be remembered by a big populace as anti- Hindu, who supported beef eating which is supporting cow killing! Shame on him !

Girish karnad wanted Bangalore A P to be named named after 'Tippu Sultan ' because Muslims were pleasing to the then ruling Indira Regime people laughed at it , like all other 'Buddhi Jeevies ' of those days who were silently aspiring for high posts like governors Ambassadors Or some other respectable posts wanted to please the govt by abusing hindu rituals Or praising Muslim Or Christian religions believed would have an impact in the selection of these posts .😂😂
