Build this at a price point where you can deliver a QUALITY product with consistent results. Reefers will complain & moan, but we care most about quality & LONG term cost of ownership - which includes maintaining the safety of our corals & fish health!

Sounds good, I get the idea behind the proprietary reagents but your reasoning that if we cannot find a reagent then we cant test is the same issue if we cant find your reagent. At least with ReefBot you can get a different brand (one of dozens) and just change the dropdown to the different brand and you are testing. I am still going to try the Maven but might want to work on some better marketing pitches other than "I may not be able to get a reagent therefore we have to use proprietary reagents".
The ReefBot sucks. I’ve had the ReefBot lab for awhile and I do nothing but fix it. I’m getting this as soon as I can.

I’d personally much prefer to pay more upfront for the unit and be able to use different reagents..(rather than the same business model as printers. )
But hopefully someone can still hack the formula and offer cheaper reagents if the do go proprietary.
@@Val_Halla777 The days of inkjet cartridges are dead. You can get an Epson Eco Tank printer that comes with 8 bottles of ink (2 sets of color). These printers can use ANY ink you want to dump in them. Depending on the ink quality its the same output. Spending $35 on a set of cartridges that last a few hundred prints vs $15 on 4 bottles of ink you put in when it gets low is a no brainer.
Consumers are tired of the Gillette model and want choice. I totally understand why they want to lock in a certain quality control to the testing. What would 1000% sell me on this is if they could at least offer alternative reagents or the ability to put in a lot number of the reagent and it would adapt.
They are a small company and that would probably be too much effort, however the community could.
I want it now and I love the look . Main reason I will wait for this device is I don’t have to buy two different device to have automatic tester
Sounds like a sensational product, love that it is stand alone, love the isolation of wet side and dry side and absolutely love the second input. Can't wait to hear more!
Being able to use it on 2 tanks has sold me. I know you're not ready to discuss pricing but I'm not interested in how much it costs per test vs the actual unit.
Same here, I'd like something to test a few more systems but the ability to test 2 is awesome.
Wish more information was given. What is the precision of this of testing? How often can it test? How exactly does it work more technically? How far can it be from the tank?

Background knowledge of the 'other player's' devices...... Stand-alone operation....... All in one (core 5 elements) testing.... Small form factor...... Ease of use/maintenance..... Hopefully competitively priced and good support..... This checks all the boxes for me and will be used in tandem with my Trident. I can get past the 'proprietary reagents' as all companies can run into supply chain issues as we all should know by now.
Totally depends on the price of the reagents to be able to tell if that is a good move for coral vue or for the customer.
I have a small LFS and I use automation a lot....this hydros stuff is definitely peaking my interest but im so deep into the other ecosystems it feels like a major task to replace ....however I think I'll have to still attempt setting one up on a system to try it all out... I am impressed Carlos.....you been definitely scrubbing forums to learn what ppl want ....cant wait to see how it works.

Really excited about The Maven coming up as part of the Hydros Control System. I'm slowly moving out from other brands of automated testing units. And I know that you guys will deliver something robust and reliable as the others Hydros Units for the collective. I know this was a "bird eye view" of what it's going on "cooking", backstage at Coralvue, so many questions came to mind. But I know that you guys make them yourself as well, during the developing brain storming and testing. Can't wait to hear more information about it, like controlling and adjusting dosing as needed and all the possibilities and precision that we can rely on. couple questions:
how close is close for the 2nd tank. we talking less than 5 feet or more than 10?
how much room to the regents take up?
where does the wast water go?
will the regents be plentiful?
are they ( regents) sold single or in groups?
Beyond excited for this release! This will be the first smart tester I buy. Some questions I have.
How long does each test take?
Does the length of the dosing tube lines need to be a certain length, ex. most testers require a 6ft line.
You said it has one stepper motor that does not need to be calibrated!?!?

Product sounds amazing, can't wait for the how to videos, when used in conjunction with the dosers do I have to manually adjust the amounts dosed based on the test results? Or will it adjust automatically?

I am very excited about this new product but also let down that price and delivery date are not available. I hope it does not take nearly as long to reach the market as Kraken did from announcement to ship date. I also whist you would share a photo of the full setup including the reagents and tubes.
I apologize that the podcast did not provide all the necessary details during its initial release. The Kraken will be exhibited at the CoralVue booth in RAP Orlando. As the unit is undergoing rigorous testing, the release date is currently unknown. We will keep you posted as soon as it becomes available to the public.

What’s the display look like? He said it’s WiFi available so can the test results be seen off an app? And/or is it showing on the screen with a history ?

Yes, most definitely you can add onto the Maven with any of the other HYDROS devices to form what we call a Collective.

No concern about salt residue being leftover in the cuvée without a RODI flush?
Trident does it with no problem just using tank water. Having an air purge should help even more.
@@clintwarren1187 I think “with no problem” is a bit of a leap. The cuvette in the trident gets super dirty with buildup and it seems like people complain about bad test results when recalibration isn’t completed regularly. The cuvette stays at least semi-moist between tests in the trident so it seems like that would lead to a slower build up compared to air drying the liquid out and leaving anything that could build up behind after every test. I suppose we’ll see though. Definitely interested in the maven, but I do have my concerns.
I’m a huge hydros fan, but with all due respect - don’t announce a product without a release date and a price. This is sales 101.
Right, that just means it's got alot of testing and bugs to work out left to be done before its ready if u ask me
Ask Ledger lol announced Stax almost a year and half ago.. it was supposed to be 3 months out when announced and STILL nowhere to be seen..
Also.. with the amount of tech being used of the prism, measuring through plastic and glass layers.. so much that can go wrong that I think that’s why they are covering their ass not giving dates or price.. but then again yeah they should’ve not bothered announcing it..

There is currently no official release date for Maven, and unfortunately, it will not be released simultaneously with the Launch.

What does the Interface look like? All That is mentioned is a "APP". Is there going to be a web interface for old people like me that cant read a damn cell phone?
The interface will look like the current HYDROS app which is also available for a computer desktop.
Do $699 guys. I see that as a worthwhile price point.
Where is everyone
I understand the not in deep information, as this is only a teaser. But the video is just hard to watch! For a product that a lot of reefers are waiting for, you guys wasted the opportunity to make it great! This should have been a super easy video to make as we do want the product, but the format used is just hard to digest; talking about everything and nothing all at ones is just hard. You guys need a new format and/or host...or stick to what you have but keep it in the normal schedule podcast/talks, not a introductory/launch teaser.
A common issue with Hydros videos. Most of the time it’s just rambling, stalling, etc. Overall, the controller is nice but the format and host just turns a 5min video into an hour. They’re generally all painful and this one is in the running for one of the worst. Horrendous formatting and topic coverage. Something needs to change or many of us will never watch another Hydros video.
@@MRey-qe4by 100% right, all CoralVue videos are the same weird format. This is specially painful as the Maven is long wanted.
The x10 alk testing has been so unreliable. The device reads so different from salifert Hanna and icp
I'm sorry to hear that you have been experiencing issues with your X10 alkalinity tests. To resolve this problem, please contact our support team at Support@coralvue.com. It is important to note that the X10 alkalinity test should give results similar to that of a Salifert test. Also, please be aware that ICP testing does not include alkalinity measurement as it is not an element. Therefore, the alkalinity test is performed separately outside of the ICP machine.

That's the advantage of the HYDROS app is its ease of setup/programming. There is no coding involved.
Guys, you jumped the gun, why do this big unveiling video when it isn't being unveiled? I know you're excited about this product, but you need to wait on an unveiling. You really have no idea on price? That's disingenuous, or else you wouldn't have bothered building something like this. This came off as just puffing of the chest, "look at what we're gonna do, at some point, no idea when, and we have no idea what the price will be..."
