Sometimes in dreams, I'll have this great story going (often not lucid) and just as it gets to the good part, when everything's coming together I wake up. I fucking cliffhanger myself.

Also whenever I'm in dreams and am controlling them, I tend to let it flow towards wherever it's naturally going, but only step in if I'm in mortal danger - like in danger of being killed. Like a save point in a game almost. I see some horrible shit happening and just go -- I'm out. I can't do this. And then everything's fine.

This one time, I was having a Lucid Dream and i knew was dreaming, but it was kind of like an On-rails shooter where I had no control what happened or where i was going, but i knew I was dreaming. I was also for some reason reaming that i was in Fallout 4, and 2 kids were being held hostage by a mole rat with a chainsaw.

omg.. the sleep paralysis thing I have never actually heard of, but what Thick just described there is exactly what I experienced one time as a kid.I was about 7 or 8 I guess; had a high temperature / Fever and was hallucinating through a lot of the night seeing a lot of freaky stuff which I remember clearly; some sort of flea circus next to me on my mattress, spotlights from the ceiling, objects moving in my room, a huge black dog/wolf sitting on my chair, the handles on my wardrobe clanging, my dads voice from the corner of the room.. anyway, yeah.. really freaky night. So I woke up in my parents bed between them (I guess my dad had picked me up and taken me in during the night), they were fast asleep and I was on my face haha, I couldn't move for some time, and I felt that there was a horrible demonic presence in the room and some how 'understood' that if I did move something would 'get me'.. so after trying to move and failing I lay there on my face waiting.. probably for about an hour till my parents woke up.. I could then move and everything seemed normal after that..
so yeah.. sleep paralysis.. evil feelings... totally get you! ^^

BoM It happened to me all the time when I was a kid. It started because of waking nightmares. Not jolting. Just slowly open your eyes to make sure it's not real. It got so bad that I eventually found a way to never not have lucid dreams, and it's to start dreaming while you're conscience. I nearly never get uncontrolled dreams anymore, because of fear of the sleep paralysis happening again.

I've had sleep paralysis many times. It's terrible the first few times, but once you know what it is it's easier to deal with. The trick is to calm yourself down, relax and try to go back to sleep. Usually fixes it for me.

So over the summer (June-August) I was hanging out with my friends. We went to ride our dirt bikes in this off-road track. It was really fun we get back to our houses and life goes on. School starts (I'm a freshman in high school) and I'm excited to get my classes and shit. Well freshman year ends summer and shit happens. School starts up again. Sophomore year ends and it feels like a blink through my high school career. I go to collage and meet this girl named Ally and eventually marry her. Around a year later she has a son we named him jake. Fast forward 6-7 years one day I'm driving jake to school. We get hit by an eighteen-wheeler and I wake up on the ground in the parking lot of the dirt bike track. At first I wonder what the fuck I'm doing here. Then I see my friends from middle school crowded around me looking worried. I ask where jake is. My friend Nathan asked what the fuck I was talking about. Turns out I came around a corner to fast on my bike hit a dirt wall, passed out and got a concussion. The paramedics take me to the hospital and I tell the doctor everything that happened. While I was out for 1-2 minuets my brain cooked up some sort of fucked up dream where my entire life happened. It really fucks me up now. Sometimes I see my son talking in the corner of my eye but can't hear him. Moral of the story: don't go to fast

Firstly, enjoyed the video, secondly... SLEEP PARALYSIS SUUUUCKS..... The first time I experienced it was when I was recovering from I got while on deployment... I'm sure it was the pain meds and time change, but I was having bad insomnia... One night I was in bed, but I had a major episode of PTSD while I was sleeping, I feel like I knew I was dreaming, but couldn't do anything, and I was frozen, stuck in the IED again and I couldn't get out of the way, I was screaming, but nothing was coming out... And when it finally did no one was there to comfort me.... I'm getting chills just talkin about it again... I don't get them frequently any
More but I still get them... Freaks my wife out

Dreams about your teeth falling out for some reason are an association with a change or fear of change in your life, and I have them all the time, which has me super self conscious of me teeth falling out in real life. Sleep paralysis is one of the scariest things I have ever encountered and when you guys said that most people feel a presence creeped me out that much more. One of my most recent encounters I felt like someone/something was watching me and I couldn't move to see who/what it was.

I’ve had sleep paralysis when I was about 10, and it freaked the shit out of me, for a solid 5 seconds, I was just laying, scared shitless, then I deadass jumped up 3 feet and screamed as loud as possible, it woke my parents and sister who rushed to see what was wrong, I couldn’t explain to them what was wrong, but was crying from the fear I had just felt

The faces one got me thinking. I'm pretty sure you can't create faces in a dream. I have met strangers in my dreams but when I wake up I can never remember how they look. All I can remember are things like she was really pretty or he had brown hair. the proper details are lost. However if a friend is in my dream I remember that and I remember everything about how they looked in the dream.

I have sleep paralysis/ night terrors as a combination the worst is that it's every night well basically I'll wake up in the morning unable to move barely able to breathe and feeling like I'm being crushed as well as seeing the room around you my mind also twists it with a nightmare which is basically a night terror is the combination of the two. It's probably one of the worst experiences when you feel the dream and what's going on around you as you're being torn apart by things that look like shadows standing around you. Great fun

Or when you can't move and a figure looks in at you through the window and sometimes taps on the glass, and sometimes you move a finger or something and he gets closer and closer every time you're able to move something.

This used to happen to me as a kid. Unable to move even after the sleep paralysis went away out of fear something would get me if I moved. I had to teach myself to lucid dream so the waking nightmares stopped. It was fucking horrid.

I can't believe I stumbled upon a video like this but, it does actually remind of dreams I had when I was a kid. First off was when I had a dream about me skiing down a tall snowy hill with a stranger I don't think I've ever met saying "I'll see you downhill". Weird dream for sure but I had the exact same dream the next night this time it was lucid. At first I noticed exactly where I was and what this was but I didn't know how to interact in this situation. The same thing happened again and I was speechless throughout the dream. It eventually ended with the guy skiing down and I immediately wake up afterwards.
The next one was a one-off dream about being in a small hallway with two other strangers I didn't recognize. The hallway looked torn apart and the lighting was a dark red coloring. When I had the time to look around, for some reason, the two people just sprinted down the hall with me following in a confused and scared state. Eventually, we ended up at a split-off where the hallway split up into two other hallways like a fork in the road. Weirdly however, was a scarecrow-like person standing in between the two hallways with their arms crossed like the "Wakanda forever" pose. The two people raced down the left side but before I could follow up with them I stood there looking at the scarecrow closely. It was very ragged and looked disfigured to the point where it looked like it was some sort of suit. Afterwards I stopped staring and continued to follow the pair of people that took off. When I took a began walking down though, everything went bad fast. The scarecrow grabbed me by the shoulder, faced me, and just loudly screamed at my face. I was incredibly scared and I instantly jumped up and looked around the bedroom to see what was going on. Thankfully, everything was alright and my family was ok.
This last dream I had that I can remember vividly, still haunts me to this day and actually motivated me to make this comment because I really want to share it and this seemed as good a video to do it on.
My dream starts off in an old family home I used to live in. I was on the couch in the living room with the floor flooded with brown murky water nearly up to the couch sofa cushion. My family was at the end of the couch screaming and pointing at the water trying to alarm me about something. I was extremely confused not only by what they were trying to tell me but about the whole scenario overall. Eventually, I make out what they were saying and they tell me that there was something in the water. I didn't think to much about it considering I just wanted to get rid of the water all together instead of finding out what was inside the water. Then things take a turn for the worse when a large fish jumps out of the water biting deep into my younger brothers leg and dragging him into the water. I scream out in horror trying to grab his hand but I end up failing. Next thing I know, I wake up on the same couch that I dreamt about sitting up straight in a cold sweat just yelling "NOOOOOO!!!" about what just happened in my dream. My mom rushes to me asking if I'm OK and I just tell her I'm fine. I stand up and walk around the room eventually reaching my parents room where all my brothers were just sitting there on my parent's bed watching TV. Thankfully my younger brother is fine and they were just looking at me asking if I was doing alright which to I respond "Yes, everything is all right now".

This was a great video! I recently had a dream where the dream seemed to be in repeat, and I would wake up only to find myself in that same dream, repeating everything. At some point I was completely aware I was dreaming, but couldn't control it. When I finally did wake up I had to get up and do something outside of what happened in the dream just to be sure. Though after watching this there was one point where I tried to check what time it was on my watch only to find out it was blurred out

I always used to have a lot of nightmares when younger. And arguably I was a fairly fearful person in general then. Due to some watershed moments and paradigm shifts, I no longer really "do" visceral fear. Nervousness, caution, wariness, sure, but I never get that deep down terror sensation anymore. So my biggest trigger for realizing I'm asleep and becoming lucid in a dream, is if the dream is fearful. I'll start to feel that fear sensation, and it'll make me realize that I'm not in reality, because I don't get that sensation in reality anymore unless I'm watching a horror flick and I'm deliberately being emotionally regressing for the sake of enjoying the thrill of the movie.

Ok for the last 3 years I have had one dream about 120 times and it starts off in my house every time. Then I go out side then wake up, but here is the weird thing every time I have the dream I go a little bit farther before waking up. I have a hole city in my dream and the setting and people are the same, except for the end I always die, then wake up. Ok say I die from a car crash one night then the next time I have that dream I live the car crash but later die again.

I used to race stock cars, then when the local track closed, I helped a friend who ran another race track with a different class of car. Then I started travelling with another friend who owned a car that that ran a traveling series that ran races east of the Rockies to roughly the Philadelphia area, from Southern Ontario, Canada to central Florida, out of a shop in Michigan. When the owner quit running full time, I got a job as an inspector for the series, worked my way up to one of the starter/flagmen. I, for real, had a heart attack while on the flagstand during a race. Recovered, came back, some other health problem came up, recovered, came back, etc., etc. After about the fourth time my health let me down, I gave up and had to quit, not only racing, but my career as well, and go on disability.
Ever since I made that decision, about 14 years ago, everynight, without fail, I dreamed I was at a race track either racing, or flagging. It never fails, if I'm racing in my dream, as soon as I put my seat belts and helmet on and reach for the ignition switch, I wake up. If I'm working as an official, as soon as I get in the flagstand, I wake up. It could be any race track, real or imagined, people I know, or people I don't know, but it's _always_ at a race track in one of those two scenarios, and I always wake up right before the race starts.

I had one lucid dream where I was just going around like the matrix, making building bend and shit. It was awesome. One repeating dream I always seem to have is where I’m a murderer on the run (but for some reason no one ever looks for me). One of my most recent dreams was where I was training to be a fighter and I couldn’t hit hard (it’s impossible to fight while dreaming) but then my trainer told me to swing my punches down like I’m trying to hit the top of someone’s head, and it worked! I was fighting while dreaming.

I often think to myself before going to bed/sleep- "Sleep..a chance to dream" Guess the quote (not too hard i'm sure most if not all of you will know it). I just love sleeping and the chance to have epic dreams. I used to dream i could fly a fair amount when i was younger then for years i didn't, then a couple of years back i started having those dreams again. The constant in these dreams would be that there would be a group of my friends or family or both there and i would be swooping over them. To actually fly though i'd have to run and flap my arms (lol) sometimes feeling like "this is stupid it's not going to work this time" but then it would and it would be awesome. Now that you guys mentioned flying dreams i realise that i haven't actually had any for ages. That thing about having the best dreams when you wake up then go back to sleep is so true, especially when you've been having a good dream and you manage to gt back into it. So good ! Dreaming is like the ultimate escapism though right, well when it's a good dream or at least not a scary as hell one ! : )

I always have this dream where I’m running but it never feels fast enough and it’s so irritating. I throw a savage fit growling and seething, I switch to all fours and just start going like a savage beast. I’m not just running on all fours I’m grabbing the earth and ripping/ launching myself forward and you just feel wild and its awesome.

so, i practice this A LOT with trying to control my dreams. it gave me some of the most amazing experiences and ideas and really advanced my personality into being what i want it to be. but the huge problem is i did it every night and i had 3 classes in high school in a role that i could sleep in. it even got to the point where, you know those moments when youre on your xbox but not talking to anyone youre on a dash, not bored but not excited to any extent. just a calming tranquility. like laying down in water the exact temperature of your body. you feel.. nothing. you think nothing. nothing exists. (im sure other people get this or it was just another side effect) well i would mix those moments with controlled dreams. i would do this during drives, sex, gaming, school, swimming even during foot races i would just stop and go into like a hyper zoned out state. i eventually got out of it but with a damaged memory. i cant control my memories, i can remember just fine in some instances but as bad as forgetting my own dogs name. there were a lot of other traumatizing experiences happening around this time that could be link to it but not as likely. trying to forget so many things while trying desperately not forget things about a person i wouldnt able to make more mem.. ANYWAY.. in my sleep quest i damaged my memory and actually lost a sense of time. the best way to explain it without rambling on at 3am probably not making any sense because im tired is the "Last Thursday Theory" which you should look up for sure. basically is NOT any REAL proof that the universe didnt begin last Thursday. everything scientists can come up with can be explained away with rational science. its kind of like that. i mean i went back and recreated those situations where you wish you wouldve thought of something clever to say and what not but much more vividly. to the point where you couldnt tell what really happened. or if any of it happened. it dreams time does not exist. holy shit im rambling 😂 pretty sure im not making any sense and im too heavy headed to proof read this shit. here ill do thisvvvvv
POINT IS: dont do this too much. maybe ONCE a month tops after you get it down to a minimal, controlled point. you can seriously damage yourself. i damaged my memory and am working on a way to use that for my pursuit but its rough. dont risk it

When I was real young I had what I guess would be considered a fever dream or sleep paralysis where I felt completely awake and observant to my surroundings, however incredibly unusual and uneasy. It’s hard to describe, but I got this strange feeling that my body was giant and my head was small, making me feel like I was looking at my chest like it was a landscape rather than just my body in bed. I can only briefly remember this as I was definitely violently ill that night (according to my parents the next day I had vomited all in my room, walls, and hallway lol) and probably just had a strange dream mixing with reality moment.

I hardly ever remember my dreams, very few have stuck with me over the years on top of that. There was one dream from years ago however that I still remember vividly to this day. I was sitting on a bench waiting for the bus, and that bench was the exact same one Forrest Gump was sitting on. I was also wearing a suit just like Tom Hanks was wearing in Forrest Gump. I was not holding any chocolates however, I was just waiting for the bus. And I remember looking to the person sitting beside me, and that person was the Predator. Like with the the mask and the shoulder gun and everything, and I did the head nod to say hello and he nodded back, and then we both looked straight forward again waiting for the bus. And then I woke up.

It's really trippy to think about all that kind of stuff in a sciency kind of way.

I used to sleep run and yell when I was young... My parents told me that I was always looking for something urgent and was running around the house looking for and yelling about it. Apparently once my parents figured out that it was in my sleep they would say "go to sleep" and then I would instantly snap out of it, say "okay", and go back to bed but I would also have no memory of it at all. At about age 10-12 I was a lucid dreamer, to some extent. I could be in a dream that I didn't like, and just wake up, then go back to sleep in a totally different dream. Recently I have lost this ability and almost all of my dreams are either somewhat depressing or full up terrifying to a point that may be kind of like sleep paralysis, but I can tell I'm still dreaming. And with the whole "bad render distance," my brain fixes this with 80-90% of my dreams being in poorly lit subways or buildings. Any other dream is in a school or something I used to go to with people I go with at that time. These usually turn out pleasent, most of which try to take a sensual turn if nothing else, but fail to make it "dreamy and creamy"

One time my cruise control in my truck had quit working. I went to sleep one night at that time and dreamed that I was fixing my cruise control and that there was a little black box in the kick panel that I unplugged and replugged and the cruise control worked. I woek out of my dream right then and laid there for a second, thinking about what I'd just dreamed. I jumped up and went out and pulled of the kick panel, found a little black box and did the plug thing on it, and decided to just go back to bed and try it the next morning. Got up the next day for work and tested it and it worked again, and stay fixed. Thanks Dreams!!

Neebs, I have had this sleep paralysis thing before as well. It is very true that you feel that there is something extremely evil near you.

You guys talked about the guy that drew great pictures while sleepwalking and suggested someone else came in to draw for him as a practical joke. There's actually a french movie that uses a similar premise called The Creator, highly recommend it.

I many, many cases of deja vu while I was in basic training. I am almost certain that they were dreams that I had as a child. They were very specific. Like I knew my where my bed was in the barracks before I even went in the barracks for the first time. I knew the rough layout of our CTA without even knowing what a CTA was before arriving. It was oddly reassuring having all that deja vu at the same time. It made me think that I had made the right decision by joining the army and that it was what i was supposed to be doing.

One way that usually makes me realize I'm dreaming is when something unnatural happens. For example, I've shot myself in my dream and felt the pain, but didn't die. That forced me to wake up, as well as when I'm underwater I can breathe still and will wake up.

Two years before COD Ghost came out I had a dream that I was playing the game. When I got the game to play it, it was deja vu to me then I realized this was a dream that I had two years ago.

i suffer sleep paralysis quite (what i consider) regularly, and i can confirm that even though i have had it plenty of times it is still absolutely terrifying, when i say regular i dont mean ALOT, i mean maybe a couple of times every 6-8 months but you never get used to it, and the sense of evil is absolutely true too.

I used to have recurring dreams that I was a character in the show The Office. I was buddies with Jim and Pam. I miss that show.

I personally don’t have sleep paralysis, but my friends does. Each time it happens to her and her body wakes up she will then draw what she saw during it. She has the type where she also hallucinates and the shit she sees is nightmare fuel. I have been with her through several of the episodes and I couldn’t imagine going through that every time she wakes up. She had this issue since she was about 10.
