How long does it last? All my can openeders last 2 months average and I only open maybe up to 2 cans a week. They all start failing. Teeth start wearing out then you have to squeeze harder and harder until it's completely dead. These new ones you are talking about, I've read the reviews on Amazon, and people say they start failing after 3-4 weeks. So if this also a problem with this style, what other option is there for a can opener that will last a year or more?
Good question and thanks for asking. So about a year after getting it I notice it’s not as easy to operate. Not sure if that’s just mine/me, but maybe apparently not based on what you’re saying. I do still like the idea of this thing and its benefits. Maybe there’s nothing such thing as the perfect can opener?
Nice video. You can also flip your first can open 90 degrees putting the twisting handle on top of the can and cut the side off just like your safe cut version. The Swing-A-Way brand is best and have used for 40 yrs. $10 and lasts.
I use one of these to cut the can of baby formula to put it in a larger container. I'm able to get every bit of powder out this way versus having some left at the bottom due to the lip of the can.
