Yeah I think the way shown here is inferior. It's harder to do, wrecks the rim, leaves a jagged edge that makes it harder to get the contents out, and with the other way the lid is held in the opener at the end, so you can dump it without even touching it. It is true that a little liquid can spill out, but the other way does that too, since the can is wobbling around during the cut. There is always a significant amount of liquid on the lid either way, much more than any spillage, and it is easy to get it all off when the opener is firmly holding it after the nice clean cut.
Tengan en cuenta que en los almacenes, supermercados y demás puntos de venta hay roedores e insectos. Deben LAVAR bien la tapa antes de destapar la lata.
Sharp edges on the lip or sharp edges from the can being opened on its side it's dangerous either way. But this way is less sanitary. I used to open cans yur way growing up but I find side opening is cleaner and easier.
I did both ways in the video and keeping the wheel on the outside leaves a clean but sharp edge. Even if the edge was not a problem, you can see in the video when the wheel is on the outside, some can contents come out all over the place. I guess if the contents were solid like meat, it wouldn't matter. Those are actually made to open from the sides so the meat pieces come out easily. You can open cans as you prefer for sure. It will work both ways fine if you are careful with it.
4:06 The can opener has an edge at the top which you can use to scoop out the lid (which you don't have to completely cut like that), instead of poking your grubby fingers inside like that. Ew.
Can opener on a can that doesnt need one? Use the lip you arent supposed to store food in the can once you open it anyway since its not airtight anymore
What do you do if the pull-tab breaks before you can open it? Also not all cans have that. I stored it overnight but you don't have to. I agree it's better to put it in a container for the fridge.
So, cans are ancient tech now and we need TH-cam tutorials to teach people how to use can openers ? That's weird ! Anyway, don't cut all the way : dont let the lid sink into the can because you never know what pest rode onto that can in some warehouse before you bought it. The interior of the can is safe from contamination. The exterior : you don't know unless you cleaned it. Once the lid is almost entirely cut, you can use that lever in front of the can opener - or a knife, a spoon... - to raise the lid. And don't put your fingers in that juice !
I do it this way every time and it always leaves gaps where the lid is not cut. EVERY TIME. I gather my family around to watch so they can see I’m doing it right, and it fails every time, but when they do it it works perfectly. Am I cursed or what?

Awesome! So helpful!!
the way that you said is the wrong way is literally the right way to do it with that type of can opener
Look at the result when you do it that way.

Thanks mate! 👍

There are 2 types of can opener. You use this the right way. The flat gears one you use it the other way
vi cientos de videos y con ninguno logré hacerlo bien hasta que vi este con detalles😂😂😂👍👍👍
Thank you for teaching me when my father couldn’t

@@IONHowTo True, but the tab on the can in the video wasn't broken 🤔😂
Now I know
Thank you so much if it wasn't for you I can finally sleep in peace and now my cats can eat tuna now👍🏽😄😀
I'm ngl i'm 20, still the most difficult thing to use since i was 12 😭
How soon did it break with normal use, as stated by real people ( Not paid BS 5 star ratings - this is the greatest - with first use )
Very similar to the Swing A Way......

Happens to me too
That can did not need an opener. You can pull the lid off.
a sad commentary on today`s dumbed down society that folks need a youtube video on how to use a can opener.
We use the other one...
@@Men47 tiktok? 😆
You’re doing it the wrong way. The way that you said was wrong, is right lol
