The road you were heading to was closed a long time ago, and opened 6 months ago, but if you find yourself in a similar situation, tell them that you are heading to the capital, are adventurous and love the mountainous roads to get there.

I simply documented that my route was going through that access restricted area, the soldiers stopped me and told me to go back and reroute. I'm happy to see foreigners visiting our country, and I am delighted to see Davide here in Algeria! Davide embarked on a long journey across the planet. On August 13, 2015, he started cycling in Alaska heading to Patagonia crossing the entire length of the Americas. He then cycled across Africa from Cape Town in South Africa to Cairo in Egypt. Then he racked the north most point and the south most point of Europe. So far he visited more than 59 countries and pedaled over 87,000Km! He had a lot of adventures and had dangerous and breathtaking moments like when he came face to face with a grizzly bear or when a black bear ripped his front panniers and trashed his tent or that other time that a truck reversed into him and many more adventures, despite all that he never stopped what he's doing due to his passion for cycling and traveling around the globe. Thank you for adding Algeria to your list and for showing our beautiful country, culture, and nature, and showing to all the world how friendly the Algerian people are, it's true Algerian is a continent not just a country. Thank you again Davide and welcome home 🚴♀❤

Our relationship with Spain is what disrupts your trip because of your strong resemblance to Moroccans, so the state must monitor you, but you will freely arrive anywhere except military bases for your safety and security. In fact, the Algerian people like to add two zeros to the price of tomatoes written at 5,000 DZD, but when paying, you will find the real price is 50 DZD = 0.25 dollars.

Hi, It was a military zone. Since the black decade, they were multiple military camp in various strategic point in algeria. You can find still now in high point or crossroad… it’s usual to find this military stop even in countryside. You can cross it without problem. For the price, don’t forget to divide the price by 100. 5000 is 50,00 dinar
I have seem many of those military check points and yes you can cross them but this is a special area you cannot cross it unless with a permit, one man warned me on the way up.
@DavideTravelli yeah I think it is the frontline checkpoint of the military zone , you will have another one and another one and another big barrier . Than the base
When I see the price written as 5000, it means 50 Algerian dinars, not 500 Algerian dinars. The currency used in the markets is the centim. A dinar is equal to 100 centimes.

My dear friend, these days the relationship is tense with Spain because of its support for Morocco, and Algeria fears for its safety from spies. This is a very usual thing and you will get used to it. Please accept my passage and welcome again.
Our relationship with Spain is what disrupts your trip because of your strong resemblance to Moroccans, so the state must monitor you, but you will freely arrive anywhere except military bases for your safety and security. Greetings to you and welcome to your country, do not be upset at all,,,, Algeria 🇩🇿 is targeted a lot.
😮 Wow this is in Algeria? It looks like European country side!
Algeria is the biggest country in Africa, lots of different landscapes and micro climates. Generally the north part is pretty green with lots of farming and mountains.
Welcome, bro enjoy
Shukran!

Thank you! 😊🙏
The soldier asked you where you were going, and according to what you told him, you were going to Algeria, which means you were going to the capital

the Artichokes were actually 50 da/kg which is 0.20 euro/kg
Thank you visiting Algeria.. In our country the autoties fear for the foregner not thatvthey fear from him, but they fear if aby thnig happened to him, and it will be a political problem with his government.
❤Welcome to Algeria, my friend
Shukran!
you inspiring me we need more ppl like you in our world
In fact, the Algerian people like to add two zeros to the price of tomatoes written at 5,000 DZD, but when paying, you will find the real price is 50 DZD = 0.25 dollars.
50,00 DZD not 5,000 DZD! careful! it's not the same thing at all!

N'importe quoi. ça n'a aucun rapport ici.

Hi,
It was a military zone.
Have a nice trip ❤
Thank you! 😊
glad to see foreigners coming to algeria, you're all ways be wellcomed sir
Shukran 😊🙏
Algeria is a country in AFRICA not a Continent!
Have you visited Oran?
No spoilers! 😎
I thought Algeria is a desert !! But I see trees and Green!
Algeria is the largest country in Africa. There’s the sea, the mountains, the plains, the desert...
Bro Algeria is a country in mediteranean area.. we are very green in north
When I see the price written as 5000, it means 50 Algerian dinars, not 500 Algerian dinars. The currency used in the markets is the centim. A dinar is equal to 100 centimes.
i am from Chlef (downtown) and i know these places very good 'everybody is welcome' this is our slogan
😊🙏

Welcome in Algeria davide🇩🇿🇮🇹
Shukran 😊🙏
Hey davide!, i really like ur videos, they're so unique, and i love that u use only ur bike and ur tent in travelling, u are so welcome in my country any time, and also if u need any recommendations of nice places never hesitate to ask me❤
1Thank you for your kind welcoming! 😊🙏
The officer told you that you were in the wrong road to Algiers, and that you need to turn back to get to the Capital. I understand this could also be a military area not show in the GPS, in such case you're kindly invited to respect.
You've got plenty of other places to explore tho
Enjoy your stay here, and welcome to our country anytime!
That's what I did, they said I couldnt continue on my route without authorization and went back to reroute. I was respectful of the army and their job. I was slightly disappointed about the fact that I had climbed for hours for nothing but things like that happens when you travel and that's why I document them for the people that follow my adventure. Shukran!
Welcome David, Algeria is a peaceful and kind people, and you won't pay a cent, welcome to your country.❤❤❤❤
Shukran 😊🙏

Shukran! The soldiers were just doing thier job, the area is restricted and I didnt have authorisation, nothing to complain about them.
