- In this video we going to show , how to change your leaking crankshaft seal . This procedure is the same on BMW : N40 N42 N45 N46 N52 N53 N54 N55 Petrol engines . The car we are working on is , BMW E90 N43 143 hp .

I like that you use the proper tools
I reaplced the timing chain on my N43 a few moths ago. I just hammered the seal in with a rubber mallet, and yes it's leaking.... Thanks for the informative video i will have to re-visit it now with the correct tool.
I've been dealing with these oil leaks for about 35,000 miles, when I suspect the oil filter housing leak broke the serpentine belt. There's 150,000 miles on this N52 now. I replaced the oil filter housing gasket.
I first did the oil pan gasket, thinking the leak was coming from there. I found some belt like material in the pan.
Thanks to the e90 videos I now have the crankshaft pulley off. The seal seems good. I started the engine for a few minutes and it didn't leak.
Now what ?
On further inspection, and watching your video some more, I think the seal is toast. And it doesn't leak oil because the front end only is jacked up.
Right, if "we don't get the seal out on the first try"
the bolts need to come out of the special tool, to turn it and create new holes with the little screws, angling the screws to catch some of the meat of the seal.
And so it went,
success,
no leaks.

Да то винаги е така с тези силикони . Даже в масовия случай , за да съм сигурен че е стегнал на 100% чакаме по 1 вечер преди да запалим мотора

Just done this by hand on an m57 was a nightmare
M57 is much more easier, than the newer BMW petrol engines. But still I have made my own installation tool for the diesel ones
