Poe is nothing compared to Luke Anakin Han Wedge Chewie Lando all much better pilots and leaders. Poe battle plan was always attack and hope for the best. Rey Finn Poe did not work they were terrible.

The Falcon really came through at the Battle of Yavin. Han knocked Darth Vader and his goons out of commission and cleared the way for Luke to blow up the Death Star.
I like this movie, Porgs are fine, and I love this scene, but... I really wish the Porg wasn’t in the Falcon during this scene. It’s so distracting and takes me out of the moment 😂
I had such an incredible experience when watching this movie in the theater twice which made me love the movie even more. The whole crowd erupted into cheering for so many moments, especially this one. Such an under appreciated film.

It's weird that in such advanced aircraft, the cannons are handled like weapons from the 2nd WorlｄWar airplanes...very analogic...instead of some advanced digitalized weapon.
The only thing that would have made that scene better is Luke was manning the other gun, and remembering what it was like when he did it the first time.

I found 2 errors in this 1: wrong way Chewie! Starting here you see the falcon about to enter the caves of crait 0:58 but in the next shot the cockpit is the other way 0:59 2: gun broken, how shoot? Around about here at 1:07 , you can see the ENTIRE lower cannon ripped off, but in the next shot, the Falcon is suddenly shooting with nothing 1:15
I was surprised they put Rey in the gunner seat. It's the most logical decision. But conventional wisdom would put her on the pilot seat, front and center since she's a lead character.

@0:42 Rey’s perspective makes approximately zero sense - unsurprisingly. She’s in the ventral (bottom) turret, and her view is perpendicular to the battle. So that means that the Falcon is either flying toward the ground or the sky. Except that in every establishing shot, the Falcon is flying horizontally, parallel to the ground, away from the battle. Terrible, terrible movie.
