@@DER3PY dampening the keycaps. It's those little rubber O rings you put on the stem of the keycap. They prevent you from actually bottoming out key strokes and absorb some of the sound from them. You can get them in varying stiffness as well so you can either have a solid bottom out feel or more of a squishy one.
You can remove the standoffs on the PCB by inserting the end facing the plate into the Wowstick (without any bit) and holding the nut on the other side with pliers! It's a good way to eliminate the hard spot between G and H.
Got myself the Epomaker S64S but the stabilizers and keys sound horrible ( Gateron Optical Red ), my spacebar sounds especially horrible so this helped me get the right things I need for the Lubing, clipping etc. Thanks a lot man been watching you for quite some time now and quite enjoy your content
I got one of these keyboards and replaced the switches with silent optical red switches with progressive springs and it's quickly become my favorite keyboard
Thanks, the effort you put in is definitely worth it for the end result. Is gonna help me so much. I hope you get the support and love you need, because you deserve it.
that sounds so sweet after lubing the switches and stabs! I have a suggestion for another video... Please take into consideration to lub a non custom keyboard for those of us who don't have the luxury of owning one via group buys etc. For example, Corsair gaming keyboards, Ducky keyboard, Durgods, Reddragon keyboards. I would love to see how they turn up if properly lubed, since most of the mentions keyboards are not hot swap and perhaps without desoldering. Many thanks!
Saw the first video for the sk64s and bought it the same day, received it yesterday and I did the exact same mod (well 98% the same) and it sounds lovely. The switches are so smooth now, better than my rk71 (spray lubed moded) keyboard. The only thing I could wish for now is to get the MiTo XDA canvas keycap set...
Great work mate keep It up I just ordered the parts for my first custom keyboard I'm going with kalih box whites and a geek gk64 thanks to your videos it's helped me get in to the custom keyboard community so ty ig

@@colter7300 @:3ildcat Hey! I was wondering how this went for you. It doesn't look like the video is up anymore. I just purchased a SK64S and purchased the items needed to spray-lube the Gateron Black Optical Switches. I was wondering if either of you you had any tips/instructions for spray-lubing the switches! Is there a specific part I should try to spray into? I'm a bit nervous as I don't want to break the switches, but you make it look very simple in this video. Also, when you wipe the switches with the alcohol wipes, are you just making sure that there is no lube on the outside of the switch that would make contact with the PCB/case? Thanks for the videos you make!
@@charles_miner for mine I followed wildcats tutorials, the US super lube left my switches very inconsistent and broken, but I came back a few months later and now it works fine. Sorry for the late reply
It sounds so good man. Very nice... Can you show the difference that a warped stabilizer has compared to the ones that you have manually fixed? I really don't know the difference that it makes
Good afternoon! I bought an epomaker sk64s keyboard. Help me find a good manual for this device! Any questions about the operation: - how to view the remaining battery charge? - how to determine that the keyboard is fully charged? I am very much waiting for your answer. Thanks
Modded my SK64 in the same way. My spacebar still has a rattle to it and I cannot figure out from where its coming from. Stabs are clipped and lubed, band-aid mod, etc. There is still a noticeable click to it. Could it be the keycap fit to the stems? All my other stabs sound amazing.
Hey! I have the same keyboard but with the blue switches! I just recently got the hippo linear switches and was wondering if I needed to cut the stems off of them? Cause they won’t fit….
can you make a tilde (~) symbol on this keyboard? this is honestly my only concern buying it because every other key I need it carries already, but the tilde is too important. Also, what would be the shortcut for the tilde? Thanks for the video! Good job!
I'm curious, why does nobody that uses spray lube not spray it into a container and brush the switches with a size 00 brush, wouldn't this be far less messy and safe for lubing brown switches?
I'm trying to buy the same exact 1900mah polymer battery you showed in the video. If you don't mind could you tell me what the model number is? It should be on the battery. Thank you!
