Cool to see you still around! You were my source for inventor stuff way back in the day. Probably even some inspiration for my own channel. Good luck with the future content.

Keep both names. And yes, make it lower effort, I agree. The equipment is already high quality & you sound great. No additional effort is needed. This was a great video as it is without additional effects, etc.
As far as the changes. I welcome it! And Thank you for giving me a new podcast!

Neil, i owe you so much for the instruction you have provided over the last few years. Like you I don't understand viewers who don't get the work that goes into making content - I guess they think they are superior in some way which is confusing as they are latching onto an instructional video, due to their own limitations? The edge you have over other content providers is the Geordie accent, its like the most soothing voice to listen to, the old comedy sketch springs to mind of phoning a car insurance call centre and getting a Geordie. They sound so sympathetic and like they really feel the hardship you are suffering after a car accident LOL. I'm still a subscribed fan and not planning on leaving anytime soon, still go back to instruction in your old content (old grey matter isn't the same as it was). Looking forward to seeing the new content. All the best.

As always your back catalogue of videos is my first port of call if I'm having a senior moment and can't remember how to do something in Inventor. Never underestimate the impact you've had on the community, there are a lot of people who appreciate all the hard work you've put in over the years. Time to do what makes YOU happy! All the best in whatever you decide to do. Jack

Content suggestion: Monkey Island speedrun. OK, I should have known that someone has actually done it already. Seriously though, looking forward to the new approach and hearing from you again. I wouldn't think of it as a reduction in quality though, more an increase in realism (which I think will be refreshing from both sides of the camera). You have the chops to make whatever topic you're interested in interesting. Besides, Inventor isn't the plucky upstart it was when all of us watched your videos for some truly significant changes from one rev to the next, and computers are fast enough that the isn't a need for 99% of users to do anything but turn it on.

Good to see you back! I like the name, Unconstrained. I like the idea of lowering quality. I am doing this as a trainer. I have dabbled in video editing and it can be a grind. I am going back to using my iPhone and clip-champ as an editor.
I really enjoy listening to you and I know I will enjoy the podcast. I listen to podcasts when driving the car and long form works for me.
Take care and put yourself first!
    Cheers

Nice to see your smiling face again! Related to the "whatever you want to talk about" category, I notice that a lot of your design content has focus on automobiles. As an idea, how about telling us about your interests in vehicles, maybe how it crosses into your fascination with tech, and how you see the industry integrating the tech into future vehicles. Supercars seem to occupy some brain space. Would love to hear what drives you!

As AI remains a hot topic, it's intriguing to investigate what Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) are doing and whether they are programming to leverage Neural Processing Units (NPUs). Companies like Dell as well are marketing the advantages of the AI-powered notebook workstations, so there is a window on the hardware side as well.

Your tutorials are the benchmark for all other. The amount of shit content out there drives me nuts. It's as if being subjected to their crap content is torture. That being said I wish you the best in what ever direction you go. Hope to see you at AU.

I like your channel, I always have. But after listening to what you just said I'm wondering what you are willing to talk about!
I have a recommendation for you that goes directly against what you just exclaimed.
I get that you're not going to do tutorials and that's probably fine. But whatever you are going to talk about why not end it every couple weeks covering questions that you receive about how to do things. This says two things number one it makes your channel interesting to those people who have asked questions and have never received an answer. And it gives you an opportunity to answer the questions in a way where they can't ask another question and they can't waste your time.
I get it if you are unwilling to go for this idea. Does not matter, I plan to watch your videos anyway as I have always liked them.

  • @Barboron

For your content, I don't think you really need to invest in quality. Good mic is nice and probably more important than a camera. Personally, I feel the big take away from your content is your knowledge (and humour). So with your experience and knowledge, your opinions, or content is the important part.

    • @Neil3D
      @Neil3D  หลายเดือนก่อน

Yea cheers, it was a natural evolution over the years that happened... stages of progression and also expectations when dealing with sponsors too i.e. making videos for Intel or other brands who give you stuff. I was trying to compete with the bigger channels in video quality as the bar was raised so high, but they all have dedicated staff to each part of the process so to do it all on your own is a horrific task. I've already invested in the gear for quality, but yea I can't make a time investment any more! That's why I think a long form show is perfect, as I can give out experience/knowledge/humour freely and more relaxed knowing I don't have 6 hours or editing ahead of me once the camera is turned off!
