Definitely station to station metro will be faster, no doubts. Try home to starting station to end station to end location. That will give the right picture for a commuter. The first and last mile connectivity should be taken into account.

Firstly, I am a supporter of public transport system. However, this is a ridiculous comparison, you have to start from your home to your destination. If your travelling metro station to metro station, definitely metro will be faster. This doesn’t mean metro will be faster for your daily commute.
