How is Phuket right now? It is getting busier and more crowded! During this video I interview those visiting; and share insights and quick facts about the island. And finally, my thoughts on whether it is worth visiting now and my predictions for the island's future. This video focuses on the west coast. My next Phuket video, will focus on the island's interior and Phuket Town.
I am American retired in Danang Vietnam. This is one of the best videos I have watched detailing the reasons to do what I call "Escape from American " I agree with every point you made. Cheers got a new subscriber.
@@nontim2829 hey there, overall great stay. At the beginning you pay attention to the details, decoration, colors which dont fit, maintenance which needs to be done in hallways etc, but then you get used to it. The food was an abslut insanity. SO GOOD. They have a new German chef who turned around the restaurants according to staff i talked to. We were there during xmas so it was packed with young children which was a bit annoying. The second negative point was the sea. Unfortunately there is the tide and the sea murky 60% of the time. We spent 2 days at Katana beach which has crystal clear water. 40 min away tho ;( The hotel is a bit far south so cabbing takes around 25min to phuket old town. Thank g+d there is Bolt to use. Wrote 2 pages and gave it to upper management as a friendly feedback list. They loved it. Overall, hotel price is fair for what you get. Rooms were very cozy and nice. ...here you. little unstructured resume. Hope it helps
@ hey there, Thank you so much for such a comprehensive review. I’m looking to visit around the December holidays as well. This helps a lot as Pullman was one of the hotels I was look at. Appreciate this a lot!
I went to phuket a couple of times this year in May and September, I love the place, and in the off-season, it is good except the sea can be rough and the beaches dangerous. Not so many tourists in the quiet season, but the last part of the September trip was heavy rain for 5 days, I was a bit unlucky. I would go in the high season, but there are too many tourists, particularly from Russia. I will go back next May for my umpteenth trip.
On January 1st this year, Thailand became a partner nation of BRICS. It’s a stepping stone to full membership. Thailand is very Russia friendly and they like Phuket. It’s gonna be a great place to practice Russian language .😊
Great video! Lots of beautiful shots (love the drone shots liberally added in), very informative, and impressive production overall (I appreciate the map you put on screen showing us where you were traveling). Nicely done sir!👍 On an unrelated but practical note, I was curious.. whats your daily sunscreen protection routine look like?
Thank you. For sunscreen, other than shooting a vlog about beaches, I try to avoid the sun in general; this comes after too much sun exposure as a kid growing up in California and a lot of outdoor sports.
Was just in Phuket Mid November for 4 days and it was lovely. Patong beach was a vibe. Clover hotel couple blocks over from Bangala road is a great hotel.
I was in Phuket during covid, will visit again in June. It will clearly be a different experience, the beaches during covid where almost empty lol. Its still a great place but overtourism might become problamatic if the amount of tourist keeps increasing every year.
I sold my condo in Karon in January 2024. The vibe changes so much in high season. It can be difficult to find somewhere for dinner due to the number of tourists. The traffic is crazy too.
Another great video. I’ll be in Phuket for a couple of weeks in early December on a golf vacation and would like to connect if you have some time available. Also from Napa
Phuket is awesome, but definitely most expensive. Dude your lucky on the end of Bangla Road always the cops doing helmet checks. You should be wearing one anyway 😊
Good video i am an American from Orange Co. Calif been living in Jomtien Beach for 3 yrs have been to Phuket but agree High season there is a bit crazier like it is here in Pattaya its why i moved a little south to Jomtien

Great information in this video. I am planning a trip to Phuket in June 2025. Is it guaranteed rain everyday in June in Phuket? Or is it more like afternoon heavy rain showers like we have in the Philippines?
Good informative video. I don’t understand why the Thai government doesn’t control things better in Phuket and just let the Russians come in and take over. They need to take care of their local people first.
Is april much quieter or still pretty busy just trying to not come when its over crowded. Was ment to be November now it looks like march/april but watching this video and with bow busy its going yo get is giving me anxiety 😅
Bro I want to connect with you man. I just arrived yesterday. Let’s shoot a video together. I’ve been watching you for over a year. Love your vids. Quality work and informative.
We are a retired couple from CA enjoying Kamala for one month in December. Staying at luxury condo #CityGate with a shuttle bus to beach. We wish grocery store was closer. #Vivace hotel was better location. Yes over development is very sad. #stopthegentrification
Hey bro, great vibe :) Can you tell me where you went for ICE BATH in Phuket? I'm coming over in a few months and I've just started regular cold plunge, I love it!
Let me subscribe to your channel as a token of appreciation. I feel truly impressed, and I believe your videos are valuable to Thailand and its people. We, as Thais, often recognize that what we have and what we do may not be good enough. We constantly compare ourselves to others, thinking they are better. This includes the younger generation, often referred to as the "Orange Camp" or "Three-Finger" group, who claim Thailand is the worst and wish to emulate countries like the US ,But you, on the other hand, choose to stay in Thailand and never want to leave US. Perhaps you could create another video to guide these young Three-Finger on how to truly live and adapt in places like America if they dream of going there. I think your videos could serve as a platform for policy discussions. For instance, you might advocate for removing certain tourism taxes. This could reduce cost the need for agencies like the TAT to rely on taxpayer money for campaigns aimed at attracting tourists. That's why I believe your content is incredibly valuable. It values directly to Thai people and has the potential to benefit Thailand as a whole. Keep up the good work!
Thank you. While the U.S. economic opportunity may look attractive to some, it comes with a price. If the younger generation can work online while living in Thailand and make higher wages, this could be ideal.
Unfortunately, today it was raining again. Hopefully, the sun starts to shine. But the rainy season has been non-stop and extending through November now.
Sad that they destroyed Kata Noi with all umbrellas. Used to be one of the best beaches and very calm. Phuket should also do like Singapore and decrease the traffic and make a limit for maximum vehicles. Traffic is getting horrific. Hope for a better future in Phuket. Love the beaches still but something have to happen.
Interesting interviews only one mentioned the cost of living which to me coming from Sydney is probably the biggest benifit i find when I'm over there (not Phuket). Maybe it's my age seeing as being close to retirement. Love Phuket Shane about the crowds though i suppose you can't blame them Russia or Phuket? Say no more!
I love Thailand and the people but - Phuket :::: Beaches ok at best, but outside of that the whole place smells like poo and weed, the worse traffic ever, and unreliable transport - if you have a flight, go stay at the airport the day before cause a lot of taxi's and grab drivers will not take you or not show up and leave u trapped cause they make better money on the short rides volume. Plus every bar has prozzies harassing u. The only affordable food is from markets and street vendors - and most of the time the servings tiny. If that's your thing fine, and ur ok with nightmare travel scenarios great -but I will never go back. So many better more beautiful hassle free places to go.
Agree buddy, too much focus in south east asia because its cheaper than other destinations than in western countries, cheap attracts filthy people and organise crime, I prefer the Mediterranean
Here in Phuket - Kamala Beach now and it is far from quiet. Beach chairs are butted up against each other can barely get out of your chair. Prices are higher - not the Phuket which was known to be budget friendly. Bangtao is the best beach on Phuket - quieter and cleaner. Kamala has a strong smell of sewage from waste from hotels, restaurants and residents that flows through the canal and into the beach. Extremely disappointing!
Best Area in Phuket is Airport area. Nai Thon beach and Naiyang beach are really good. The very southern Beach also. Ya nui beach i think it was alnd theres a hidden one in south also. Rest is trash. Too crowded. Too many Russians in Kata and Karon. Like youre in Russia. Patong terrible beach. Phuket was a let down. Will go Koh Tao or neighbouring islands next time. Phiphi is great also! Phuket not it
You have been here for 5 minutes and part of the problems you are highlighting - talking about gentrification while hanging out at the most expensive beach clubs?
2 months ago you said you were leaving Phuket but here you are in Phuket making another video. You can't be saying one thing and doing another and have people take you seriously.

Returning to Phuket in Feb 2025 after 6yrs. Looks like it's gonna be challenging finding a quieter area to hang. Thanks for the helpful vid! Cheers!
Great vid bro. Cheers from Canada
The guy from Australia saying it is too cold in Australia!!!!! I live in Quebec, Canada lol!! Good video!

Phuket was really busy before the pandemic. This is what it looked like in 2017 2018 2019. I was there several times.
Just came back from two weeks in Phuket, traffic and crowds are definitely up. Some areas like Kata Beach are now tourist traps.
Do they have dirtbikes in Thailand? If so I’m all in lol.

Nice update. But comparing with 21 doesn’t make much sense.
Cost of living in Phuket is highest in Thailand but it should have some places for locals with reasonable price.
Yeah, it's called phuket town and also in the north near to the airport.
Can find food from 50 THB for kapow, noodles easily enough in Patong, Kata, Rawai !!!! Not expensive at all
For Russians it is the number one destination, Pattaya is a close second.

@stegura83 I know that, but there are more Aussie bogans than before because it's too expensive for them to live back home 😄
The diesel fumes hung in the air when I was at Patong beach - the beach road was choked.
