Hi - i have a question. I have a 2012 pathfinder v6. Ive had her to the dealership 3 times now.
When doing any amount of driving, the engine temperature gauge rises, not hitting the 'H' for hot but definitely close to the white line by the 'H'. This has been happening for a long time. The only thing i can remember before this happening was what looked to be a poof of air coming out of one of the vents by the passenger side.
Around the same time ive noticed the AC blows warm. Could be related -- could not be.
Now ive had the AC replaced not at the dealership. After this i noticed the AC was still blowing warm.
Once this problem reappeared i brought her to the dealership. They said there was a air bubble in the coolant or anti freeze(i cant remember) they bleed her, fixed it -- checked the AC -- said she was good.
Nope she wasnt. Brought her back they fixed the fan coupler, topped up the freon and said yes now she definitely fixed.
They said its not the head gasket, they say everything looks good. clearly it is not.
I took her for a long drive this week (approx 30-35 mins, 28C degree day) the first 15 mins she is fine. The moment i go up/down any sort of incline she starts acting up. engine gauge rising, AC blowing warm - The engine gauge does eventually return to normal but my lord i do not want to drive her.
Do you have any recommendations ? Could it be a ran fan?
I do not want to return to the dealership as i feel now im just throwing money away as they obviously cannot or do not want to source the problem.
    TIA

I see he did not answer. I'm a former Honda Class A tech and just bought one of these Pathfinders and am having the same problem. So have a lot of people. Dealers never admit to a major design flaw and they will change everything, bankrupting you in the process. From what I gather it seems to be a fan clutch problem which brought me to this guy. BTW he left a few steps out of his "helpful" speedy nonverbal video-- and I don't know why he messed with the a/c. A bad thermostat is not usually an intermittent thing and it will malfunction in all conditions and speeds. Same with the rad. But if the fan is malfunctioning/slipping, you will get problems, esp. at idle under load. Going to replace mine myself and see how it goes.

@@wandajames6234 i ended up bringing her to another dealership and within 5 mins they are like this needs to be replaced i do think it was the thermostat in general. either way i will never visit the dealership close to me again, id rather drive the hour out of my way at least they know what they are doing
