    At 65 years old I'm just getting into modular stuff w/ the purchase of a Matriarch, DFAM and SubHarmonicon. Now adding others to provide additional capabilities. While I have a very good understanding of electronics and synth design I find your videos much more informative than many of the "hey look I got this and listen to what it can do when I twist knobs...sick". I believe a scope is nearly a must to truly understand the subtleties of what is exactly going on, especially if trying to reproduce something that was patched previously. Your videos are clearly planned out and the format is such that you can copy/reproduce and learn from the patch. Hope that your channel continues to grow!!!

      Awesome! So happy you're getting something out of it! When I started using a scope it really helped me out. Thanks for the comment.

    I have always had a romantic view of modular and it's possibilities , I have had a dfam for a while and it's fantastic.
    just bought a M32 after much pondering. HYPED.

      Me too. This is a great combo. I started with these two and added the Subharmonicon after. Patching them together is where you start to really understand them and they start to shine! Have fun!

    Awesome! With the VCO set to square my noise started to sound like mouth sounds - a beat box vibe. Another excellent starter kit for exploiting the Mix knob. Thanks!

    as a matter of fact, you're digging right into what interests me the most now, sound design. for our listening pleasure, turn the knobs less hecticly, would be great to listen to

    Great patch and like your patches for the Matriach as well. Great tutorial on the subharmonicon. Keep up the great work. Love it.

      Awesome! So glad you're here. Right now, I'm in the midst of a Subharmonicon series. I plan to make one on the Mother next. Then move onto the Matriarch. I hope you find those valuable as well! Stay tuned! :)

      Thanks so much. I've got some videos in the works right now that I'm pretty excited about. Expanding the Moog Sound Studio using extra modules. Stay tuned!

    Also sounds good if instead of using the LFOs to modulate VC MIX CTRL and MIX CV you use the ASSIGN (set to Random) for both inputs (Via the MULT). Then the random noise chirps are all in time with the clock.

    You did PWM with pulse wave and with the blend between saw and pulse.
    Is it possible to PWM only the saw wave, after you patche pulse to ext. Audio?

    • @braintree56
      @braintree56  ปีที่แล้ว

      My understanding is that pulse width modulation only applies to square waves.

    Do you think there is any way that we can alter the “second” oscillators frequency independently from the main oscillator?

    • @braintree56
      @braintree56  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think you can with this because it's still just one osc. With a more complex waveform. With that said, I did use this patching method to add an additional Oscillator from another module (Plaits) where that probably could be done... Or at the very least provide 'interesting' results...:)

    I see everyone with that oscilloscope… How do u get that oscilloscope ?

    • @braintree56
      @braintree56  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used a free VST plugin by Socalabs. socalabs.com/analysis/oscilloscope/

    it was not an object to make music, or at least good sound! you are a repairman, you test the oscillator, that's it!
    what are all these videos, where you tell us:
    when you touch the buttons, it makes noise! we are aware
    thank you !

    • @braintree56
      @braintree56  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the comment. This video was about combining the different waveforms using the patchbay and even modulate between those. I hope that this will give some people some ideas to increase their sonic palette when creating music. You might like some of my other videos that aren't tutorials, but rather just music. :)
