Yi Long has movements from Muay Thai as well. Did he also learn how to do muay thai boxing? Is he also a mixed martial artist? If only I could have a tiny bit of what monks have!!!!!!
hisashi auman Sanshou (散手)means a certain premium movements taken out from a full set of kung-fu from various Chinese martial arts schools ( at least a thousand martial arts schools “门派 in China.)
"They use a spear with a rounded tip. The shaft of the spear is flexible. The blade actually points up when the spear is bent. The neck has a layer of cartilage protecting the throat."
i meant when somebody fight in a different environment, different rules, they have probably half of their arsenal taken away, so they stick to the ones they havent been training at. try an example, if a mma fighter fight with a boxer, boxing rules, who do you think will win? but we take it to a brawl in the street, who will win then?
He doesn't hold the title of monk, but he did trained in shaolin for a certain period of time (many years). By the way, Yi Long himself never claimed to be a monk, never ever, that's his sponsor that do that for the commercial. He got the training, but not the title, and he perfectly know that.
Grechael 汉 Please go and watch how a title-less small fly : Fang Bian KO-ed Simon Marcus, the World ranked No. 1 Muay Thai champion in Jan, 2015 just by one single punch ! Then you will know what Kung-fu is !!!
***** A Chinese sanda, title-less small fly namely Fang Bian had KO-ed a world ranked No. 1 Muay Thai champion, Simon Marcus in Jan, 2015 by a single punch. I would like to tell you that Fang Bian used a Tai-ji movement, namely " 弯弓射虎” meaning : shoot an arrow from the bow uphill to hunt the tiger, to KO Simon by synchronizing his attack and evasion simultaneously. Tai-ji or kung-fu could be used in real fight or not, it is self-evident !!! Seeing is believing !
Hohn Khew Wong Im pretty sure that I know Kongfu muck better than you ,cause I grew up in China and learned Kongfu for over 8years,I even owned 3rd prize of the Taiji competition of my province. The fighting skills we call it as free combat skill ,totally different from kongfu skill.Jet Lee was won the championship of kongfu competition all over China, but his fighting skills are just so so ,true story~
Please note that Yi Long has about a 2-year fighting record, mostly amateur ! You could see that the referee had stopped the fight too early. If you watch : Fang Bian vs Simon Marcus in Jan, 2015 that Fang Bian TKO-ed Simon with one single punch, the referee did let Simon get up at least 3 times then stopped the fight. Do you think the Chinese referee is more professional ? Don`t jump to the conclusion too early , Yi Long later in turn KO-ed Adrien-G`s disciple then successively KO-ed Adrien-G in the revenge-fight !!!
Unfortunately, the Best in China's martial arts world don't compete in MMA or Boxing.. LOL.. I believe you can send any of your best boxers to Wudang Shan or Shaolin temple, and they will be floored by just one monk who is incharge of cleanliness (sweeps the floor in the temple).. LOL
***** I think he's right...i was skeptical too, but then i saw Jet-Li and Jackie Chan movies and now i know for sure that no professional boxer would stand a chance against chinese shaolin monks who clean the floor.I mean who could beat a guy who can dodge bullets??Nobody in western countries...unless perhaps Steven Segal, Jean-Claude VanDamme, Rocky Balboa and Batman.
Yi Long koed Adrenne Grotte Yesterday in rematch 2 minutes into 1st round. He has been getting good recently training with traditional Wu Dang Kungfu Masters on Wu Dang Mountain, instead of the performance kungfu he did growing up. He beat Cyrus Washington World Champ and beat Thailand's 4 champions in champion round. He also beat this guy, forgot his name, that had 200 wins under his belt.
I love how in every fight yi-long opponents start with risky kicks and he just complete in control of fight parries it and pushes opponent to ground just to walk cool away :D
Most 'Shaolin Monks' nowadays aren't even actual monks, and no longer practice any combat-oriented martial arts. They are talented acrobats used by the Chinese government to attract tourists and profit from their amazing performances. Many accounts from people that have lived with these 'monks' (such as fighters) said that the monks weren't difficult to defeat in sparring. What I'm telling you is that the people that can actually apply kung fu effectively nowadays are few and far between.
Respect both fighters. Both fighters did well. Adrien just caught Yi long with a left hook off of a left kick ( counter left kick with left hand/counter right kick with right hand ). I like Yi Longs leg sweeps he uses those very well.
So what is better in your opinion, to loose a fight or to throw a fight. To fight honourably and loose holds no shame. To take a dive is nothing but shame, you can never redeem yourself.
his point is Adrienne missed the head and hit the shoulder and Yi laid flat on the floor like a pancake which is weird for a fighter who is very sturdy and often gives his opponent free punches to the head if u watch his other fights....and then to top it off he gets back up in 3 seconds.
I used to be a traditional martial arts enthusiast too, but I was in for a rude awakening when I actually had to start using them. I speak from bitter experience. Let me tell you; in a self defense situation, I'll take boxing and jiu-jitsu before karate and kung fu any day.
You and Jesse are both wrong, shaolin monks are not supposed to fight when they are still a monk and training, but after he chooses to leave being a buddah he can do anything with his life and is no longer a monk but a ex- monk. How do i know this because I'm chinese who used to live in china but moved to america and am using a fake name
I don't understand why so many people call this a KO. The ref stopped the fight even though Yi Long insisted he could still fight, so it's clearly a TKO. Watch Yi Long's revenge fight against Adrien Grotte. Now THAT's a KO, because Grotte collapsed and could no longer get back up without assistance, after he got kicked in the liver and then punched in the temple.
***** Well, I don't think it really matters if he seems "wobbly" after he got up. He did get up without any assistance, and he signaled to the ref that he could still fight. This surely doesn't fit the definition of a KO.
when u reach 8 atleast in boxing the rules are that you need to look ready and that means u look the ref in the eyes and you give him your gloves (as a sign of ready) however Yi Long was all over the place groggy he was outmatched in this fight even though he also fought well I guess he underestimated his opponent and didnt protect himself too well now ill go watch his revenge match
htrland You are really true as I said that the referee stopped the fight too early. I think that the referee did see that Yi Long had done very well in the first round, so he did not give Yi Long a chance to fight back. If you watch : Fang Bian vs Simon Marcus in Jan, 2015. Fang Bian TKO-ed Simon with a single punch. The referee did let Simon to get up at least 3 times then stopped the fight !!!
anyway, we all have our opinions, i respect yours. i told you mine, just to tell you what i think about what you said. im not looking for an argument here. so sorry if i said something that may have offended you
Just because you're a Shaolin Monk, doesn't mean that your brain wont shudder causing you to lose consciousness when hit just right on the chin or temple. Shaolin monks may be tough but they are not super human, ANY man will go down if you hit him in just the right place with enough force.
karate, kungfu, shoalin, muay thai, martial arts, boxing etc etc....put them all in the boxing ring and they are fight in the same way. Arms and legs everywhere. Its how humans fight from kids to adults.
The traditional battle of the Shaolin was in confrontation with the Chinese soldiers. Therefore, the Shaolin Kung Fu is a martial tradition, which is designed to succeed. in an absolutely realistic serious struggle .Of course in addition came the deep philosophical metaphysical aspects of this martial art. Therefore, a monk in a fight (live and death)with knives and swords to beat is extremely difficult , even you are a brilliant MMA Fighter .
Yi Long was undefeated at 17:0, first time fighting outside China until Adrien Grotte taught him a lesson of what a hard puncher is like, and making offensive without a proper defence...It would be nice if they have a rematch to see if it was a fluke win for Adrien...
So this guy has KO'ed "WORLD CHAMPIONS" and got KTFO by an Amateur fighter who's real job is as a Police Officer ? .... Please, he is showman from a Chinese Promotion that is akin to the WWE here in the states... He fights tomato cans.. He would be carried out toe up on a stretcher if he ever fought a professional fighter from the UFC or Bellator promotions..
Was watching a video of that chinese MMA fighter who KO'd a traditional tai chi instructor who thought he could fight. In the interview he said there is a lot of fight fixing going in in china, especially if the opponent is foreign. They basically get paid to take a dive to promote the idea of chinese martial arts dominance. Can't let someone destroy the fantasy
Its hard to tell in the clip, but a combination of Yi shutting his eyes and Grotte landing one right on his chin was likely the problem. Also, stepping up to Pro-Level fights is a different game all together. Although I'm surprised not to see any elbows or knees to the head. There are some Thai fighters with 100+ pro-fights. It will be interesting to see Yi Long in future pro fights. I think he will do well, even though he lost this one.
so if its not explainable you have to dismiss it as fake by saying the "spears were dull"? theres so much evidence showing its real and the spears wernt dull and they pressure gauged it. i guess no matter whats there, a person is only going to see what they want to see. you.
That´s right, the fighters of Special forces are trained for seriuos Situations , and they can handle it and surely a lot of MMa Fighters , but a real Shaolin Monk trained not one or two decades , he trained his whole live , from on a little Kid , every Day ! That means it gets another quality of moves , never ever Steroids, and a maximum mind control.
Swinging for luck? Are you kidding? Getting closer to Yi Long is the best way to stop the danger from his Shaolin kick. If you watch more carefully, you will see Adrien Grotte was close enough to avoid Yi Long's kicks and actually, Yi Long was defeated by his own movement. When he did his last kick, he moved his body right to the position of Adrien's fist. That was why Yi Long lost the match.
No you totally got me wrong. There are monks in China as well as Tibet as well as very many other countries. This one is clearly a Chinese monk. He wears the clothes and I have never heard of any Tibetan monk participating in martial arts. This has nothing to do with Tibet.
Wtf is wrong with you Nicholas. Yi long was knocked down and when yi long got up he seems to be in daze and lost. Referee, on the other hand was conscious about the fighters health.
I jumped to no conclusions at all. Guys that know how to fight full on, even in a controlled sports ring, can eye gouge and kick to the groin too you know. It's just a matter of them opening their hands or aiming their kicks lower. Sport fights are by no means the real thing, but they are certainly a closer approximation to combat than blindly practicing katas and fancy technique (which is what the majority of most "Shaolin Monks" do nowadays).
The old monks would ex communicate him. The shaolin temple has become the new Rome of china. They are more of a tourist attraction now than the older monks. Don't get me wrong I love there message of piece and spirituality, I could only hope we all as humans can get along, but you must remember there still only human, subject to the same laws of the universe as we all are.
Yeah he's not a Shaolin monk but he does learn martial arts and maybe he's a monk from other place , and he's a decent talented fighter , so kudos to him.
im with you on that one, boxing is a lot easier to put in to practical use than the other ones, especially when adrenaline is rushing, it's simple enough for us to remember. most traditional martial arts like kung fu involve a lot of complex movements, so in a real life situation, you tend to fuck up. i was not able to use the aikido i've learned in self defense and turned to tackling. but my point was you cannot judge a martial arts based on the users you've seen ;)
Năm 2010, Nhất Long chạm trán với Adrienne Grotte, đội trưởng lực lượng SWAT Arizona.
Yi Long is a very good fighter and bring a lot of respect to his country and to his people, people were waiting for him to lose just so they can say how MMA is better than kung fu as they always like to mumble, the monk isnt used to sports with limitation he didnt study the art of boxing he study the arm of survivor and just like bruce lee, the worst and unfair thing you can do to any kung fu fighter is strip him off his weapons , put boxing gloves on him and force him to fight in kickboxing
@VictorGWang Of course! its be inserted in shaolin culture, because would more shaolin gaining so much money with this fights, but this men is more incredible. He get up so faster!
The Shaolin Monk thing is kind of of a myth. Nowadays Deng Feng is basically a city full of hundreds of martial arts schools. The Shaolin temple pretty much takes the top students off of these schools. There are monks, but there probably is not some secret Ninja hiding amongst them that could walk into MMA and dominate.
Not all of them. Yet you're right that some of them do this - but still, I don't see anything wrong about it. They make living this way. Even shaolins need to eat, you know? ;o) And there's a HUGE difference between performing on stage (which is basically just an artistic peformance, not a fight - plus it can inspire people and show them that our limits are only in our heads) and using their skills to hurt a person for other people's amusement - you won't see an actual shaolin monk doing that...
Actually no... he definitley wanted the win, he was over cocky and he tried to do more than just win, he wanted an impressive win. He lost because he did NOT incorporate a correct mentality(calmness-mixed-with-agression) with physical abilities(power). However... Adri shows a balanced calm mind, in that he waited for the perfect moment to strike.
I don't know what's more epic the knockout or the fact the uploader managed to unsynchronise the audio by about 4 minutes.
hahaha exactly the second one
The look on that other monk's face when Yi Long got KO'd was priceless 9:11
What is that spot on the chin called where everybody loses consciousness when hit?
sarihaddu Chin
Hardev Sra LOL!! you! :)
Yi Long has movements from Muay Thai as well. Did he also learn how to do muay thai boxing? Is he also a mixed martial artist? If only I could have a tiny bit of what monks have!!!!!!
thats sanshou, is it part of shaolin kung fu?
hisashi auman Sanshou (散手)means a certain premium movements taken out from a full set of kung-fu from various Chinese martial arts schools ( at least a thousand martial arts schools “门派 in China.)
how many lbs are they??
Ιs the fight somewhat fast forward or my internet is broken?
I never get tired of seeing Yi Long calmly knock his opponent over when they try to throw a kick at him.
yi long got knocked.
What real fight?
What's with the audio? There's like a 30 second delay
Can't edit out a KO, can we?
nhạc gần cuối video là phim mất tích hay vượt ngục nhỉ :)
Then what is your explanation for Shi Yan Ming in NY? That guy is living it up.
The soundreel is way behind the video
I think a shaolin monk should never share this kind of competition.
He is just a fake monk. See more: en.people.cn/90001/90782/90872/7244745.html

Who won the revenge? 😂
He doesn't hold the title of monk, but he did trained in shaolin for a certain period of time (many years).

He got the training, but not the title, and he perfectly know that.
what if you go first then followed by a monk? we'll see how tough humans are. i really admire that petite intelligence of yours.
Then why not fucking join the UFC if his the best
coz theres a different between kongfu and pure fighting skills.

The Shaolin monk is human. Just like the rest of us. You win some, you lose some.
That's what happens when you watch too many kung fu movies, you start to think it works in real life.
Honor is irrelevant. We are not talking about the reputation of the fighter. We are talking about fighting ability.
I can't believe that tiny shot ended the fight. I have seen Yi take way way more powerful shots than that and not even affect him.
Respect both fighters. Both fighters did well. Adrien just caught Yi long with a left hook off of a left kick ( counter left kick with left hand/counter right kick with right hand ). I like Yi Longs leg sweeps he uses those very well.

it was a clean shot to the chin, in my humble opinion. Camera shows it but the eye has to catch it. Peace.

im with you on that one, boxing is a lot easier to put in to practical use than the other ones, especially when adrenaline is rushing, it's simple enough for us to remember. most traditional martial arts like kung fu involve a lot of complex movements, so in a real life situation, you tend to fuck up. i was not able to use the aikido i've learned in self defense and turned to tackling. but my point was you cannot judge a martial arts based on the users you've seen ;)
This dude bought the Bedazzler and is fabulous.
Năm 2010, Nhất Long chạm trán với Adrienne Grotte, đội trưởng lực lượng SWAT Arizona.
to save your time just forward it to 05.00
from my opinion it looks like it hit his jaw and then the glove bounced to his shoulder
The fight start at 5:50
That's a good one. I feel sry 4 that guy firgot his name fought with DY in Yipman lived in UK RIP
Urquidez though'd win this fight.
Again i the ring not the real life. Real liife Igor'd destroyed'em all. 'cause he's not a sportsman LOL
Look at some boxing knockouts to see how the body responds from a knockdown, fixed fight
Where's your chi, man?
Now he is the real master. You have to learn how to take defeat.
Darko3Dmaximus Don`t worry, Yi Long had KO-ed Adrien-G`s disciple later then successively, in turn KO-ed Adrien-G in the revenge-fight.
START 5:50 FINISH 10:10
Actually no... he definitley wanted the win, he was over cocky and he tried to do more than just win, he wanted an impressive win. He lost because he did NOT incorporate a correct mentality(calmness-mixed-with-agression) with physical abilities(power). However... Adri shows a balanced calm mind, in that he waited for the perfect moment to strike.
Hilarious that people are trying to "defend" Yi by suggesting he threw the fight.
