What about the horrendous Spongebob episode "A Pal for Gary"? It showed from Gary's perspective how he was repeatedly nearly slaughtered by a hideous monster that was supposed to be a new companion for him. But what's worse is that Spongebob remained stupidly oblivious during the events and at the end, he still didn't notice or learn. There's also the Rugrats episode "Under Chuckie's Bed". While it was ultimately revealed to only be a sweater, what child hasn't at one point been terrified of the possibility that there's a monster after them? There's also perhaps the episode of The Wild Thornberrys where Eliza goes into the supposedly haunted forest. Even without the creepy final shot of the episode and foreboding atmosphere, the real life wilds of Africa are scary and dangerous as they are. And what about the Jimmy Neutron special "Win, Lose, & Kaboom"? There were so many unknown dangers the heroes had to face, combined with the fact that any team that lost or resisted would get their home planets destroyed, like countless others before. And one final mention of Spongebob Squarepants could be the episode "To Save a Squirrel". While it may have started out as comical or eventually irritating due to Patrick's incompetence, it eventually became sort of disturbing due to the fact that Spongebob and Patrick became hungry and paranoid enough to eat each other or Sandy (despite her deserving a comeuppance and "survival of the fittest" be damned).
Something even *darker* about Angelica's Worst Nightmare is that when Charlotte finds out she's not pregnant in the end, she makes it seem like there was a miscarriage (either that or she had a false positive pregnancy test, which is more likely.)

But as the episode goes on, they begin to reject him It even gets to the point where they make him sleep outside But towards the end of the episode, he tries and proves he isn't bad luck But as the episode ends, he is still wearing the suit Hes wearing at the game at the beach This episode Was to suppose to represents how you shouldn't miss out on your family things Instead, it represented child abuse And neglect. This episode got so much hate from critics Including me I'm surprised they haven't removed. The episode from the airwaves never to be seen again

Top 20 Darkest Cartoon Network Episodes
Dont forget the episode hey arnold about arnie arnolds country cousin
Ok, but Victorious literally showed a murder attempt on Trina.
Jenny’s exo-suit is like Spider-man and the alien symbiote.
That "Are you afraid of the dark" episode scared the hell out of me as child, I hadn't seen it since I was like 8 in 1999, so that was a weird flashback 😂
ATLA bloodbending definitely came to mind when I saw this list, no surprise it's number one
11:36-12:28 I read this crossover comic between LOK and sonic the hedgehog and our favorite blue blur shows the last avatar that it’s better to start appreciating than expecting
That episode of Invader Zim actually had supposedly led to a student committing murder and they said the episode might've influenced him in the murders while they tried to deny that.
Now we need Disney channel Darkest episodes top.
The example of the not so happy ending on the are you afraid of the dark episode is right on... But the clip that you showed is not hahaha
What about the SpongeBob SquarePants episode The Nasty Patty?
I absolutely LOVE the Puppetmaster!! The best Darkest Episode.
I think this is the first time I ever saw Mr Meaty be mentioned on any of the WatchMojo channels
there was two nick episode that give chills that are not on this list crazy ponnie and that episode where doug where patty gets a eating disorder
My name is Ben Page and I am finally finishing up my script bringing back live action movies and live action tv shows into animation for a computer animated movie tv show crossover origin story in 2026
I hated A Wishful Life SO F***ing MUCH!! I can’t believe Nickelodeon produced such a HORRIBLE mean spirited episode like this!
They repeated it with "Hey Arnold" and both episodes ruined the movie.
I and Nicktendo feel like it could've worked if Jorgen made it up since it's in-character for him to torture people like this.
@@AJ-xc4qeI agree
I can think of a few Victorious episodes that were dark like Crazy Ponnie which was their IPsycho with Sam as the Nora-like character, The Worst Couple where it was Jade/Beck at peak Toxicity, Who did it to Trina, and to some extent Tori gets stuck where Jade would do anything for a role, including nearly killing two of her friends.
3:32 when I saw this episode the first time I went in my brain going like what in the living 🦆 was Butch Hartman thinking. If you don't know who's Butch Hartman he is the creator of the fairly OddParents Danny phantom and a few animated TV shows on Nickelodeon. I like his shows but him as a person I don't he gives me again creep vibes
Butch Hartman actually does regret that episode.
It feels illegal in this early
Dark harvest!
That is one of my fave invader zim episodes...invader zim might be dark for a kuds show but i loved it and i still watch it
The clip of the ayaotd in 4:54 that has a sad ending is really the tale of the super specs, not the tale of the dark music.
Kid Danger: *wearing his mighty pup movie outfit and crys* Jesus Christ on a Honey Graham Cracker with a Toasted Marshmallow! Don't show THAT scene of tmnt 2012! *crys* Master Splinter was like a father to me AND my real life counterpart! *crys*
Top 20 darkest Disney Channel episodes
Oh god! That is so dark!
Why you showing clips of ‘Mega Diaper Babies’ when introducing ‘Angelica’s Worst Nightmare’? I know they are both part of the same overall episode but the stories are not connected at all.
I like Nickelodeon a little more than Cartoon Network but there’s so many more Nick episodes that scared me than CN.
I'm not a big Avatar watcher, but the BLOOD BENDING EPISODE, YES 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
so no one talks about the fact that curly/curlie was not only left alone in the crypt but the actual ghost bride apeared as well
Man I really think Freddie should've learned a martial art since he was also forced to kiss Nora in the sequel episode
Seeing the Puppet master from ATLA made me think that she may have also taught blood bending to Yakkone's future mother(or father) who invented the psychic technique used in LOK by both him and his son Amon
What about the Alex Mack episode where Alex is trapped inside a demolition for 2 episodes
All I have to say is dark harvest to my friends, and we all understand. lol
Mr Meaty was pure nightmare fuel 😂😂 tell me I'm wrong 😂
Half these shows I’ve never watched or heard of, I know Korra, Airbender, SpongeBob, (my fav version of) TMNT, and ICarly
